  • Thanks, I used this one... However, Do I manually have to add a new sitemap every week?

  • When it comes down to customization ability, it's really hard to beet MODx CMS (http://modx.com). I have built everything from e-commerce sites to internal applications such as a CRM for publication company. If you don't have the development ability, they offer commercial support and have quite a few big clients they've worked with such as Dell. The real beauty of MODx is that it's designed to help you build without having to hack the core. Pretty much anything you want to accomplish, you can do so while maintaining a clean upgrade path. Hopefully this helps

  • VOIP or adding another line to your cell would probably be the cheapest. There are call tracking options out there that can associate with analytics and CRMs but that sounds beyond your needs.

  • Hi Ruborg, I would argue that those tools don't do the same as Moz.  They cover the same areas, but do different things.  Also, Moz is much more limited in the number of sites you can direct it at.  With the domain limit in Moz I'd say I am paying considerably less and getting more of the functionality that I am after. That isn't any criticism of Moz. It's horses for courses and Moz just isn't the right horse for the course I run on!

  • They look super tiny. Moz DA of 1 and only like 58 likes on their facebook page.... I would be very cautious with them. Seems sort of shady.

  • Wow, thanks a lot Tom, I will check them out. We are moving to Wordpress, and after will have a replica site, for security and testing. My CRM system is based on Django running on Python. We have a lot of content and videos images to move over. just found these guys.. what do you think http://profprojects.com/migrate-django-cms-to-wordpress/ Thanks again

  • The latter, Google News is quite different from normal SEO in the sense that it won't help you usually rank better in organic search. Although in the long run you could benefit from it as more people see your content and you could get links through it.

  • As far as Moz posts go, my first guess is that that's being pulled from our Google+ page. Next most likely source is RSS, but given the requirements of Google Now, I'd put pretty good money on it being data from G+. I'm not aware of us specifically tagging for it.

  • Two theories, and these are purely theories (I don't have hard evidence): (1) There was a time when we believed in the "sandbox" - a holding pen for new sites/data. Whether or not that existed in any explicit form, I think Google has moved to more of a reverse sandbox. I think new data gets a little bit of forgiveness in the short term, while Google sorts the data out, and then it settles back to normal. So, resubmitting pages can give you a little boost and the benefit of the doubt, until Google does the rest of the math. (2) The alternate, but related explanation is that Google is seeing something in "the rest of the math" that it doesn't like. So, it's possible this could signal some impending SEO problems. They aren't deep enough for Google to dock you on a surface level, but when they take a closer look, you're losing ranking power. I would strongly suggest not refreshing content frequently to game the system. I think this could trigger a red flag with Google.

  • What you want looks like this right? http://mailchimp.us5.list-manage1.com/subscribe?u=7e093c5cf4&id=ef8cc474cd&orig-lang=1 this way they can select their area of interest. So yes it is possible with mailchimp

  • Be sure to look in an incognito window. Often times a CMS will suppress the analytics tracking info from being in the code if you're logged in as admin, so you'll just see the non-standard tracking code and nothing else. [Voice of experience speaking here!]

  • Google Analytics offers this information if you enable it.  The information is based off of Google's Double Click advertising data.  You need to update your privacy policy and make a slight alteration to your installed Google Analytics code.  This is a free upgrade to your Google Analytics Account. https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2799357?hl=en

  • Hi Neil, My personal favorite would be ScreamingFrog SEO Spider as recommended by Donna. Its highly recommended to go in for a yearly subscription and it worth every penny. It gives you a wealth of information that can be handy for a quick SEO audit. Used to use Gsite crawler earlier about till 3 years back but have been using ScreamingFrog SEO Spider and it has never let me down. You have a ton of options like being able to select User agents, regex for including or excluding certain sections or to crawl only certain sections of your website, list mode for finding HTTP header status codes for thousands of URLs along with many other options in no time. I use it daily. Best regards, Devanur Rafi

  • No, GA never retroactively adjusts data, a filter is considered a day forward change affecting only new incoming data.

  • Thank you both for the speedy reply. I've been using Rafflecopter to-date, but dayum, KingSumo looks nice.

  • This is really only based on ~five minutes of messing around with SEM Rush, but it looks like some of your competitors have taken a little bit of a hit - to a greater or lesser degree. However, there is at least one actual competitor that appears to have increased their share quite a bit in that time. If I had to hazard a guess, I would say Grossman Justice should be on your radar, if it isn't already. Yep. Sometimes it's just plain old competition. Though I would probably revisit some of those guest posts on your site, done in 2012. They're pretty exact match anchor friendly. That might not be a terribly good thing. It wouldn't hurt to possibly nofollow those links. Another thing that's a little strange and could be fixed easily is the 'Office Details' text on the contact page. It almost blends in with the background button. I don't think this is hurting much, it just looks bad. A little CSS tweak and you're looking good, at least on that point. Though I would wonder who built thousands of links with the anchor text 'lawyer'. A lot of that happened hot prior to August 2014. Without rambling on much more, I'm trying to say there are a lot of factors. Some of the little problems on your site, once fixed, can add up to bigger wins. Plus your competition has caught up to you. I don't think it's the plugin change, at least not at the moment.

  • Another vote for AWRcloud. It has the most accurate localization results that we've seen and also has the ability to track organic, local pack, and map listings separately.
