What's the best live chat software?
-
I just noticed the chat feature on moz front page, which looks very nice in terms of UX, I have been thinking of trying some live chat for a while, and just browsing the web and trying them the ones I like the most are:
But I never used any, and there are many more options... Anyone has experience with some live chat software and can share some info/preferences/ideas/likes/dislikes... ?
And does anyone knows if MOZ chat is developed in house or if they are using any provider and which one?

Hi it depends on what you are doing, but these are my favorites:
I will add more information in 30 minutes.

We also use Provide Support. Ticks all the boxes for us!

I use livezilla for a few of my ecommerce customers on Opencart platform. I have also used Casengo on my wordpress installations which I found very powerful and it included a mobile app feature allowing me to respond to queries anywhere anytime.

I like ZopIm. I have a much older and not as tech savvy customer base, they find it really easy to use. It is a little more expensive than some of the option listed here, but it is worth every penny. They have great conversion tracking options and lots of engagement and targeting options.

I think what MOZ is using is intercom.io, which looks full of features, have you used it in the past? What did you found more useful of their features? Did it really help improving conversions the way they advertise?

Zopim looks very good to.

I'm a big fan of www.luckyorange.com because it also includes heat maps, video recordings, real-time analytics, form analytics, and polls in addition to live chat.
-
I tried their free trial today and nothing worked, they told me it should be fixed by tomorrow and I will try again.
One thing I noticed today, while testing both luckyorgange and mouseflow is that both where not able to render correctly few of page elements which are manipulated by angularjs. Here of course I am talking about recording and heatmaps.

they might be I think intercom.io is the most powerful
if you want it to look like whatever you want and the most powerful chat tool that would be similar to Zopim ( I am not a fan of Zopim)
Live person is much more powerful
http://www.liveperson.com/liveengage
you can sculpt it to look however you want it has a very powerful backend I think you'll be happy with either one and you should try them out that's really the best way to decide. Sorry I did knock it back to you at plywood and it just me forever I apologize

Seems there are too many, I tried the free trial from luckyorange and found it very buggy, I am trying now hotjar.com free trial, I will try intercom, zopim and liverperson next.
What I originally was looking for was just a chat, but I can see the market evolved a lot since last time I gave those software a look.
And now I find very much appealing to be able to buzz visitors depending on triggers, like after spending a certain amount of time on a page, etc...
-
Hot jar is like crazyegg is built for figuring out you ask and things like that intercom and live chat our bill for communicating with customers they both great it more there's also customer.IO and other toolslike Olark are designed for communicating with your customer only. They're all awesome it is depends on what you doing could you tell me what type of the site you have?
-
I will use it for an e-commerce website.
Due to the nature of the products the result listings are really tedious, many products with little (hard to spot) differences in characteristics.
So I like the idea of opening a chat request to offer help in selecting the right product, but to do not annoy visitors who already have cleared their mind about what to buy I would like to have some sophisticated triggers.

Hey all, Joe here from the marketing team at Intercom. Unrelated: we're a Moz customer and I'm a huge Rand fan and Seattle native.

Until today, it wasn't possible to use Intercom truly as a live chat tool for anonymous, logged out visitors to your website or app. You would need to have an existing account or login already to enable the chat-like functionality.
But thankfully, no more.
Voila: https://www.intercom.io/live-chatIntercom's vision is to build a central platform for all your customer communication. Having a CRM, email marketing tool, marketing automation system, live chat tool, helpdesk, etc. as separate entities provides lots of difficulties, notably in integration of them technically and functionally. We're hoping to change that.
If anyone has questions about Intercom, I'd be happy to help or put you in touch with someone who knows more than me. I'm joe at intercom dot io.
