  • Just wrote a post exploring the various indexation checking options. Settled on URL Profiler as best solution for Enterprise-sized sites. http://seattlesearchnetwork.org/seo-tools/check-enterprise-website-google-cache-status/

  • You can try Multi-Product Ads on Facebook at http://blog.litextension.com/how-to-create-multi-product-ads-on-facebook/. This feature was designed to generate more website visitors, drive better conversion rates, and improve re-marketing results.

  • Ryan, the Google Analytics tracking code is not implemented in a PDF, it's only actually implemented (the JavaScript code) by the user's browser. So, you're exactly correct: Google Analytics is only showing how many times the PDF link was clicked on from a webpage, whereas GWT is showing all of the clicks when the PDF showed up in SERPs.

  • Thanks Matt. Appreciate the insight. Funny though: I came here to hopefully shed some subscriptions. Hadn't heard of Ahrefs before though, so it looks like I'll be adding a subscription. Lol.

  • I too have just noticed actual traffic is about 2x greater than what SEMRush has reported. I will be more careful using these figures now! I even segmented valid hostnames in GA to make sure spam was not in there, still much higher

  • Thanks for the reply. The files are not blocked, just highly compressed (and some are set to cache). I wonder if they are getting confused when trying to read the files...

  • To answer the second question I think the reason for the suggestion between 100 to 200 of internal links is Google will crawl roughly 150 links per page before they may stop spidering. Moz says this internal link limit is pretty flexible and could be between 200 or 250 as well. Google does not disregard multiple occurrences of the same internal link to the best of my knowledge. But with more links comes a reduction in 'link juice' that would be distributed to the other pages. So, you would be watering down your 'link juice' potential for your interior pages.

  • Hello Paul, Update Google Analytics Specialist just confirmed to me that my initial response was correct in that you cannot change the default model used for non-Multi-Channel Funnels reports. Original Response Thanks for your question. This is unfortunately something that cannot be done. As you mentioned, Last Non-Direct Click is the default model used for non-Multi-Channel Funnels reports. To my knowledge, and based on the Google documentation & their live-support, there is no way to change this. That said, an Analytics specialist is supposed to get back to me in 24 hours and I will update my response with any new information they provide. While you cannot change the default model, you can narrow down the Model Comparison Tool to the goal or goals you're wanting to dive further into. This combined with changing the primary & secondary dimensions along with using the conversion segments should allow you to find the information you seek, though likely not as efficiently as we'd like. Sorry for the bad news, but hopefully you can use the Model Comparison Tool as a workaround. Trenton Here are some additional resources on how to create your own attribution models.

  • Hi Sean, About products, I have read that there are two kinds of online business: business who sell products that they themselves produce and manufacture, and people who purchase products from manufacturers and be an intermediary to receive benefit from difference in price. When you start business, the first thing to do is choose products to sell. It depends on your customer's needs, your budget and even your relationship. For example, you have a friend, who can help you to import laptop with cheap cost, you are thinking about it. However, you don't have enough budget and need to borrow, be careful. In my country, there are many online stores about clothing. Because capital is not too big and need of customer is high, especially clothing imported from foreign country. About platforms, if you have less technical knowledge, you should choose some simple platform such as WooCommerce. It is quite to set up, design, add product and control. Moreover, it is cheap. On the other hand, you have monetary resources and technical knowledge, i suggest you to use Magento. It is really amazing with powerful features. Here is top 10 popular e-commerce platform in 2015, I think you should read to choose suitable platform for your business. Check it: http://blog.litextension.com/the-best-ecommerce-platform-of-2016/ About online marketing, it is quite difficult to say in some sentence.

  • Well for starters, it will level the playing field that has been altered pending what SEO tools site you use, each site having their pro's and con's about them, with google releasing their 360 suite, these site's will up their game that much more to retain users meaning we'll not have to pick or choose what site to be a part of, we'll have the same tools available, at the same indexing power. Or google will be so good with their indexing that these sites we all use will be for community questions and answers / blogs only. I would like to see a better backlink index setup from MOZ, as I'm not paying for ahref.com and others if I already have one here. IMO google sees adwords writing on the wall of SERPs and knows that organic search will become the norm and they'll either get rid of adwords completely or stuff it to the side again so they don't lose users to another less ad crammed SERPs. Their moving towards mobile mainly right now, which ads really should have no place in, since the size issue is that much more stressed. With virtual reality and augmented reality, SERPs will change as well as ads, this archaic means of paying for exposure works but won't for much longer as users have more and more avenues to turn to when frustrated. The 360 suite interests me, however I don't see myself jumping ship just yet.

  • Andy have you had any issues with CheckDog slowing your site down?   We've had site speed issues as they are resource intensive. But I'm wondering if it's just us. We don't have that many pages...under 1,000. Caro

  • Hi We used Addthis for a while as well, but had the same issue. At times it really slowed our page load. We wound up doing what others have suggested, manually coding in the share links. As for recommended products, we now use an extension which does a great job. Ken

  • I have to clarify  this thread -  I'm actually a reseller now, for LSS, and it's very good, and very useful, and obviously the 2012 comments above were made before the concept of "NAP consistency" was known. The process and user interface is similar to Yext, only much better, because unlike Yext they DO take care of the 4 core local data providers like Moz does  - (Acxiom, Localeze, Infogroup and Factual) There are dozens of other valuable directories they list at, (as well as the 'not so valuable' of course), but the full list does covers the spectrum of important sites very well  when stacked up against the others. As a reseller, I can give my client a white labeled login to check progress month after month, and I'm provided with various widget options that runs "local listing status scans" and then captures the lead data into my system. To quote my rep from one of his emails when I asked - "We absolutely do NOT create duplicates and have several fail safes in place in our workflow to ensure we do not." Overall, I've found LSS to be a great value and help, and for the end user, it's one of the best values in the industry. Not as cheap as Moz local, but still 1/2 the price of Yext..

  • Hi Andrei What do you mean by markets? Different countries? Different states in the US? Keyword ranking tools normally used projects or campaigns to monitor a group of keywords. These keywords are normally unique in each project because they have unique location specific keywords (e.g. state or city) or different spelling (e.g. US, UK, AU English). If you'd like to monitor different rankings in different countries or states, then it's better to sign up for a keyword ranking service and create projects for each state or country. I've used SERPWoo and Authority Labs before and can recommend both, but there are lot of other service providers on the market.

  • Thanks guys! I use STAT as my tracking tool and, before posting here, I asked my account manager about it - he told me they don't support this feature yet but they liked the idea, so they might write it down for future development. I understand it might take a while until one of these tools offer a feature like this, as it seems only a few are requesting it. Thanks Kane, I will ask around about how feasible would be to build our own scraper in house. That's a good idea. I'll get in touch with some other rank trackers, will let you know if I find any
