Adwords Customer Match-How Effective
So yes it would be easier if you had Gmail- those would be 100% available because Google can identify right away the user's behaviour when logged in. The issue is all the other emails, Google has to be able to associate those emails though Google accounts (Google Apps, possibly by using an email as a recovery email- though don't quote me on the second one, ect) So narrow down your retargeting, don't just use visitors that come to the site, try to identify ones that meet specific metrics- visits to certain pages on the site, time on site as an example and keep your geographical modifier tight. I would also look at Youtube for your retargeting. It has a low CPV and will get your content with rich media and Branding in front of prospective clients. So also as an overview I would look at what do I want to accomplish, am I trying to get branding in front of the decision makers or am I trying to reach them when they are looking to make that change. If it is Branding I would say YouTube and Linkedin. You aren't going to be able to get granular enough on Facebook and my hunch is your target audience isn't there behaviorally. If your goal is to get the right people when they are looking for Real Estate, stick with the Search Based Ads, but really look at two things. First find the right keywords. The $30 dollar keywords might not be the right ones, look for very specific searches that your target would be looking for. Don't waste your money on "commercial real estate" as an example. And the second part is make your landing page really tight. Look and experiment at Lead Capture for PPC. From my experiment with Real Estate the Funnel is very long- you need to be able to nurture them, so if they are coming in on an Awareness stage search, lead capture their so you can quantify if they are your target early on. Just some off the cuff thoughts.

Which is the best tool for checking recent backlinks (i.e. last 2-3 months ) of competitors?
Hello, The tool I would use to find a competitors new back links would be ahrefs.com. You can plug in any domain and see new and lost links from different time periods. This is not only helpful for checking a competitors links, but it's great for tracking any links your site may have lost. If you're looking for more information on comparing your site to the competition. Chris Adficient.com

Should I connect my GA account to SEMRush?
Hello, Thanks for asking. But, there's no need to worry! SEMrush will not share your data anyone, especially your competitors. That wouldn't be right. All of our traffic and ad spend figures are derived from publicly available sources or arrive to us from a trusted third-party. I hope this has been helpful.

Strange increase of pages not found GWT
Hi there, In the past few weeks I found one major source of the 404 increase. Unfortunately for you this was an internal change from our webshop host in the way the self referring canonical got built up. It added an extra 'www.' to a specific group of URL's. We fixed this so now I'm marking those errors as resolved. Does anyone know how to show all of the errors in stead of the top 1000 list? Since we have 50k errors, this will take me 50 days to get to the last batch. @ViviCa1: another part of the extra 404 errors come from old product pages, just like you said. Maybe Google decided that not redirected URL's are still important so we get the chance to redirect them now? I'm setting up an internal workflow to start redirecting all non existing productpages from the past but also in the future to prevent huge lists of 404 errors in GWT. Marcel

AdWords Editor auto-correcting keywords
Not sure about this: Over the Summer, Google updated the Keyword Planner to combine more terms and it made it less accurate. You can no longer search for exact matches, misspellings, or plurals using the tool and have to take the aggregate data. Hopefully Google will build a new tool to fulfill this need that many marketers have. I'm actually seeing the old keyword information, in order to do that you need to have an active adwords account. Not sure if there is any spent threshold tho. Or if you are trying to do keywords discovery you can easily use keywordtool.io which is a combination of adwords kw planner and ubersuggest. If you have actively running adwords campaign, I wouldn't use SEarch console data but run a search terms report so you can real user queries reaching your site. Hope this helps.

BrightEdge, Conductor Searchlight, or how are you most efficient?
Deepcrawl, Search Console Integration, Agile development platform, integrated databases for speed, a great technical roadmap including things like Content ROI and Page level recommendations all help to make Conductor a hands-down winner. I have used both platforms. Overlapped BE & Searchlight for about a year. Conductor is easier to work with, more intuitive, takes you faster from the eye of the eagle to the eye of the ant, and has amazing, beyond excellent customer service and support. If you truly want to be efficient I would recommend you give Searchlight a long, hard look. best regards, Josepf

Service name differs from our URL
Can you have newengland.theaterclub.com redirect to boston.theaterclub.com? Or at least no one else is going to use newengland.theaterclub? Those urls are long enough that no one is likely to be just typing them in, so that's probably not your biggest hurdle. And most people searching for theater tickets in New England will be looking more specifically [I live in New England] and Boston is likely your biggest target anyway. So, ideally your url should match your other naming, but in this context I wouldn't make changing it your first priority. [I mean the Foxborough Patriots are managing to get by using a more general name...]

Should we block ahref? We are seeing a large amount of traffic from this bot.
Hi there! Ahrefs is a link index, similar to our Mozscape index. If you're not using Ahrefs for any metrics, you should be safe to block it.

How to execute SEO Programmatic Optimization and what systems to use?
Hi, Well the link you posted sounds very shady and probably is, the screenshot was most fun to me as nothing in that screenshot points to some useful code (the advantage you have if you can code ;)). Anyway, programmatic optimization itself is something that I don't see any big(ger) companies do at all in the way they describe it. But in the end you can programatically optimize certain elements, it just happen that often as companies wouldn't have the knowledge, tech, resources, analysis for it in place to make it happen. Optimizing content/ titles/ headings based on keyword data that is automatically analysed shouldn't be that hard if you would really push through on the issues. Martijn.

Marketing a lakefront property
Hi Cornelius, I don't personally have a lot of experience marketing for real estate, but I'd say that using paid social might be a good idea in your case. Facebook may be especially useful here since you could use carousel ads to showcase different images of the property to people. For your audience, I'd suggest targeting: People within a 50 mile radius (or more?) of the location of the property Ages 30+ Income of $100K+ Homeowners Home value of $500K+ (or however high the value of the property is) Interested in Real Estate and Travel > Lakes There are probably a ton more powerful targeting options you could use to really whittle down your audience on Facebook, and you'd likely know best how to target them when you see them! In the meantime, this Facebook targeting options infographic may be really useful to you! (P.S. Facebook also has ad placements on Instagram and that may be a great place to advertise too!) To directly answer your question about SEO vs. PPC, I can really only address the PPC side since I'm not an SEO. The nice thing about PPC is that you can target high-intent keywords (think someone searching for "lakefront property georgia") and also target by location, time of day, day of week, etc. All those factors can really help you get your ads in front of the right people. It's also pretty instant as you make changes and adjustments! If you're on a bit of a time constraint and have some budget to use, PPC wouldn't be a bad way to go, in my opinion. Hope that all helps!
