One keyword overuse, how to make sure that won't happen?
Hey Oksana, Over the years, google's algorithms have been quite matured to understand the web content according to the user's intent, thanks to Semantic search behaviours and hummingbird. The terms like "Keyword density" are no longer valid in today's SEO so now craft your content by keeping the visitor's perspective in mind. If you think, using "24 K" or "24 carat" is really necessary and you do not have proper synonyms available, go ahead use it whenever it's required but use it smartly and properly. Do your Keyword research and come up with long tail phrases that your visitors would search. Hope this helps! Have a great weekend, Umar

National keyword results v local keyword results
If your tracking app allows, track as much as you can. Local and non-local will always be given different positions, so always track both. -Andy

Potential Keyword Cannibalisation
Often a homepage ranks better than internal pages for the reason you suggest, more links (and probably other things). And yes, internal linking can help. Does it make sense to link to one of your internal pages from your home page? You are talking about the blue widgets, so you link to the blue-widget page? If you are worried about tanking all of your ranking, pick just one of the keywords you think is being cannibalized and try working on only that one at first.

Searchmetrics or Semrush or something else?
Brilliant question. Its a shame we only got two replies. We are at the same situation trying to decide which tool to go with. We did a month with Searchmetrics (fully paid - no trial version or anything). When you purchase the basic account ($69) it is really basic which many features removed. The next level up is for $2000! (yes you read it right), so unless you are a large company its out of the question. If that's not enough, the Searchmetrics support sucks! and there is hardly any supporting videos and tutorials on the other hand, they have just lunched a "Mobile" position tracker which shows you Mobile SERP results alongside the Desktop results, this is something (and please correct me if i'm wrong) i haven't seen anywhere yet. That said, we were able to get some proper data about competitors and their viability and rankings. SEMRUSH on the other hand seems to be much more engaging with their customers (paying customers and the community). Their pricing start at $69.95, $149.95 and $549.95 and from data point view i cant really see any downside with the exception of the nice mobile SERP feature that Searchmetrics have. I would love to see what other experienced companies has to say about those two competitors. Dan.

Authority site targeting multiple similar keywords
Thanks for the insight, EGOL. It made me reconsider going this route. I have good experience on the subject, but I'm not sure I want to position myself as an authority on it. It's a niche where experience is not enough, readers will definitely be looking for experts. Thanks!

Can keyword research be used across different similar sites in different countries?
Hi there You can use tools like SEMRush or your Google Analytics location report (coupled with your search queries from Search Console) to do specific keyword research in different countries. I would also recommend looking into competitor research in different countries and read into international SEO to get the most benefits and opportunities. Hope this helps! Good luck!

How can we improve our traffic?
Hi there Have you checked in Search Console to see if you have a manual action? That will tell you right away if you have been penalized or if you have any major site issues. I would take a look at your backlinks - I see some directories and questionable links in Majestic. Also, when I checked SEMRush, I can see a pretty significant dip (attached) in May 2012, which was around the time that Penguin 1.1 hit. I would also take a look at your on-site SEO, especially with your information architecture. Right now, a lot your site architecture is flat, meaning everything lives off the root domain. Run through your site's metrics, including Domain Authority, and see what opportunities you have in improvement. Take a look at your content and take an empathetic stance with your audience - if you were a user or customer, what would you want to see? Does that line up with your research? Take a look at the Academy section as well for Moz - lots of opportunities! Also, try doing some competitive analysis to see if you are missing opportunities that your competition is taking advantage of! Hope this all helps! Good luck to you! y1MgxWJ

Wholesale and Retail in one
In the product areas where I sell, I doubt that anyone uses the word "retail" when typing a query. A few people who are resellers or who want to be large quantities will search with "wholesale" or "bulk" in the query. So, I do not feel a need to do special optimization for the retail buyer. Information that would help me make the decision on adding "wholesale" or "bulk" to a title tag are.... A) How are people searching? You can get some information on this from the limited number of keywords that show up in your Google Analytics reports, or whatever other analytics you use. Also, some information can be obtained from word tracker. How people speak to you when they call on the phone can be useful. B) How are your competitors optimized? If none of them are optimized with "wholesale" in their title tags then you can probably get away with not including it in the title but adding it to the description and making it obvious on the page. C) Laws in the state or country where you are selling. In some jurisdictions there are rules for using "wholesale" in your advertising. I sell some items that are used in crafts and my buyers are split between people who buy an ounce and those who buy a hundred pounds or more at a time. There are only a couple genuine "wholesalers" in the USA who refuse to sell to any person who is not a retailer. To buy from them you must spend a lot more than my typical customer would ever want. Thankfully, they have not optimized their site with the word wholesale. So, I don't optimize as "wholesale". Anyone who searches for my items with "wholesale" in their query will find no other websites that are a genuine matche. I simply optimize my pages for the material that is being sold. My pricing to everyone is "retail" but if you buy a lot you pay a much lower price per pound. I sell to anyone without regard to the size of their order or their status as "consumer" or "retailer" or "manufacturer" at the same prices. These materials are sold on my site in small quantities that the typical consumer would buy and in bulk quantities that would only be purchased by resellers or manufacturers. The only problem that I have with this are people who see the prices on my site and think that I have secret prices for resellers, schools, churches, manufacturers, etc. I simply tell them that we sell to everyone at the prices published on my site. There are also the "hagglers" who think that published prices have no meaning or don't apply to them. I don't haggle because it is a game that cuts profits and wastes time.

G's Keyword Planner - 800 kw limit on search volume results?
Hi I'm pretty sure that it cuts out from the 801st onwards from your list - so 1-800 will be processed, the rest will be ommitted. As you say, uploading a list will get round it. Alternatively, just bring up the URL in Chrome, duplicate the page 3 or 4 times, insert a line break in your list on line 800, 1600, 2400 etc and just upload the blocks in the different tabs and run.

To qualify or not to qualify
Again, so much great feedback. Thank you!!!! What I've opted for doing then is this: <title>: Acupuncture Services in Gainesville Florida<br /><h1>: Acupuncture<br />Content: No mention of gainesville, just mention of word Acupuncture<br /><img> alt: Acupuncture treatment needles<br />Footer: Location info in schema markup<br />Citations: Working on them...</p> <p>That sound OK to you :)</p> <p>(BTW Here;s the page: http://gainesvilleholistichealthcare.com/treatment-options/acupuncture/ )</p> <p>One more related question (I promise!). Feel free to take a pass on this one ;)</p> <p>These guys offer a few other services in addition to Acupuncture. I'm very tempted to do simiilar <title>'s for all of them, swapping out the word Acupuncture for the various services. E.g.:</p> <p>Acupuncture Services in Gainesville Florida<br />Electroacupuncture Services in Gainesville Florida<br />Tui Na Massage Services in Gainesville Florida<br />...etc.</p> <p>Is that a horrible idea?</p> <p>Thanks soo much. </p> <p> </p></title>

Newbie Keyword optmization question
Hi there To me, this doesn't sound natural. But that's just my opinion. If you handle a proper local SEO campaign and create content around acupuncture and your services, you will appear for local based searches, because you are topically relevant and you have told search engines "based on my listings, Google+ verified profile, and citations, I am a Gainsville acupuncture business". Hope this helps! Good luck!
