The opinion is fairly divided on getting links on client sites. The best bet would be to try it out with some of your client sites and analyze the results for yourself. If you experience a drop in your rankings, get rid / no follow the links.

It's not advisable to disregard directories across the board. Adding your site to a niche directory related to your subject matter can have the dual benefit of a link back as well as a source of some traffic. Another suggestion is to post your request on craigslist. Interview the potential candidates and negotiate the project fee. Most of the freelancers are pretty flexible on price as they need work.

Bing traffic seems to be stable for our clients compared to last month. No fluctuations here.

Investigate your traffic sources. Is there any particular source that is sending traffic from the US as compared to the others. Are any of your marketing efforts causing more traffic coming in the from the US. Are there any cities in particular that are generating majority of the US traffic?

Watch out for overoptimization of keyphrases on the site.Use the on page grader tool by Moz to see how you can improve the keyword strength on the site. Analyze the top 10 competitiors using on page grader and OSE to see what is making them rank at the top.

I would agree with the suggestions above. One point to note however is that the conversions should be tracked all the way to a sale not just the first point of conversion. For example, if you're dealing with a franchisor, the first conversion point can be a lead filled out via a landing page. The 2nd conversion point is that lead actually ending up buying a franchise. A lot of companies make the mistake of not tracking the 2nd conversion point and this leads to misallocation of funds. You might have a keyword generating lots of leads at a very effective CPL however not leading to real conversions (sales). On the other hand, you may have a keyword converting at a relatively expensive CPL however leads to real conversions (sales).

Hi Steve,

On page title tags are just one element that Google looks at when placing you in the SERP's. In addition to the on page you also need to have strong off page elements signalling the importance of that phrase to Google on your site. One of our clients is ranking at the top for a non profit keyword even through a different variation of that keyword phrase is mentioned on the title tag.

• Did you do any updates on your site that could have led to the meta tags getting deleted from the pages. Identify the pages missing the meta tags and fix them asap

Duplicate Content Issues

You can use copyscape to find out who might be duplicating your content. The Moz tools can assist you in checking if the content is duplicated internally on any of the pages.
