I wish moz would add this feature

All infographics , guides, educational videos (white board fridays) ,curated lists and Tools etc are "linkable assets"

In short a linkable asset is anything i can take and show people who own sites that they want to reference or link to .

The other answers are great - Just wanted to add that you may not want to negative them but separate them into a different ad-group and track the results - it could be if those people are competitors and  you may get their business

I agree i was referring to no local targeted business online.

If its a good site and from a marketing point of view it has value you will be fine with 1 paid link on 1 page on the site - the people who get hit for buying links buy lots

The emd update did hurt partial matches also but as stated by Antony Wilson users do prefer them. Just make sure the emd is brandable and not spammy seo sounding.

I am assuming the hover on top of about brings the drop down menu and a click goes to that page.

If so explain to them the about link is only needed when people click on the about and it opens the drop down menu of options not when you use a hover.

Or you can rename the about to "Who we are"  in the drop down and give them what they want

If you got hit you may need to fix some bad links or onsite issues before you can build links to recover.

Try not to build links try to attract them - This is the better long term goal. Think can your break news , Curate news better, use a better medium like video and infographics etc

You can find good freelance people not agency's but you need to seek out specialties.

You can find good onsite seo's for $500 montlhy but the link building and brand marketing is what costs alot these days.Take your money higher someone to do a onsite audit and changes.

After that is all done you need to get a name for yourself and have people talk about you and link to you in a natural way. You can do that in 2 ways

1- Offer something amazingly valuable on/off your site and let people in your niche know about it (easier said then done)

2- Higher someone to help you add value to your niche in a real marketing way (a seo's role and why it costs so much and why the good ones can charge alot)

The days of cheap seo's building links with no brains are over

Your probably not going to find anyone good for that price range. You need to pay for quality work especially post penguin where quality work is in high demand. That being said i would recommend paying a good consultant $150 an hour to hold your hand and explain what you need to do then you can go do it yourself or higher someone cheap to do the work with the consultant driving the ship.

Just make the dimension mobile device type you want and then select the dimension hour of day

Great idea i will try that- It just upsets me that this type of stuff goes on and their is no real accountability to the people who did it.

What about the fact its all over the web as-well? Do i contact all the sites with that same idea

It is clear it is stolen visullay shows its published by inboudvisibility and designed by webds a seo company.

My question to all my fellow mozzers is what can i do about this? Any one have similar issues?

It all boils down to add value to the industry in some way then tell the world about it.

I have used all these services and mostly you get bad quality sites i would recommend reaching out to blogs that have readership and following in your niche and try to contribute. We learned that the manual process of going after real sites gets you links but even more importantly your brand and info in-front of your target audience. Good luck its a long road but well worth it if you have what to contribute to your industry.
