RE: Would it be possible to setup multiple PPC Campaigns across multiple sub folders?
Unless your using two different accounts google will only show 1 ad per keyword. Double serving only becomes a issue when you are serving 2 ads under the same keyword and location etc. Are the local franchises in the same area? If not no issue- Google is trying to prevent you from filling up the page with the same companies results.

RE: Ranking Fluctuations
The recent updates have not been like the previous with 1 date of change- it has been rolled out over the summer with lots of fluctuations as you can see here.
You need to remove the bad and work on getting really good links to replace the old.

RE: Ranking Fluctuations
I think the keywords you are going after have bad toxic links with those anchor texts that are hurting you i would check into that

RE: Ranking Fluctuations
Ask your boss if they ever got a link warning in google webmaster tools about links - it could be you have a penalty you need to deal with or it could be you have some bad links that are hurting you now you need to disavow or remove -call me if you need more help

RE: Can I dynamically add city name to my PPC ad text and URL based on the user's search?
We run into the same issue alot The short answer is no (at least i dont know of any way)
I recommend you set up location based campaigns/adgroups for your city/state use keywords and negatives to control over laps
you can also geo target your campaigns.
fyi -We see a increase in ctr etc when we have pages and ads specific to location so you are asking the correct questions :).
Local extensions is a option also

RE: Product listing adverts affect on organic
True but keep in mind people want more then just a pic and price so they go to sites to read reviews see demos and videos etc - Our job now is to have sites that offer info google does not
-
RE: Anchor Text Phrases: Can you get 2 for 1?
You are correct google will count it as 2 for 1
-
RE: Product listing adverts affect on organic
Its just a option to pull down, some will pull down others will scroll to the listings so seo for eCommerce isn't dead - That being said google is cutting into the organic traffic across to board with features and business are ending up with less and less.

RE: Need Expert Footer Link Advice
To make my self clear "xyz.com " is your domain name
Site Wide non relevant Footer links have a bad rap so any anchor text keyword used bedsides your domain name may one day get penalized . You still gain by having the link and the text near it does use keywords so not a total loss.
But then again this is just a safe approach......

RE: PR links
Short answer is they dont help much unless they get picked up and reworded
You can read up about it here http://authoritylabs.com/blog/googles-matt-cutts-says-press-releases-dont-have-seo-value-or-do-they/
Matt Cutts: Right. So the link from a press release will probably not count, but if that press release convinces an editor or a reporter to write a story about it, and that’s an editorial decision, then if that newspaper links to your website as a result of that editorial decision to write a story, it doesn’t matter whether it started or was sparked by a press release or it was started by an email that you sent. It’s still someone making a decision to cover it.

RE: Potential problems with multiple users of an adwords MCC
You can create a sub mcc and give access to just that one- And you can access it from your main mcc similar to a folder layout. Hope this helps

RE: Could product sample giveaways be seen as 'paying for links'?
Its some what of a gray area - I would recommend using it in conjunction with many other tactics to make it look more normal and giving you enough link diversity that google wouldn't penalize you for it.

RE: My OSE stats have never been better but my rankings are tanking
I agree things are unpredictable the point i was trying to make was you cant look at ose and say i should rank higher since i have a better score. Those days are over.

RE: My OSE stats have never been better but my rankings are tanking
Google has changed the algorithm and ose stats are no longer a great indicator as to who will rank. Now quality links that are relevant and non anchor text manipulative etc are more important.
