Why moz is not showing My Website External Backlinks?
It looks like the site was just registered in January, which means it's fairly new. Moz updates their index about once a month, so it takes a little while to crawl and display the links. In addition, Moz isn't able to crawl the entire web (though their index is getting a lot bigger), so they may miss some of your links.

Recovering organic traffic and Google rankings post-site-crash
It sounds like you may already know this, but other people reading this post for advice may not. Don't forget to make sure Google didn't take any manual actions against the website when it was compromised. You can do by checking Google WMT under "Search Traffic" -> "Manual Actions". If Google did impose a manual action you will need to submit a reconsideration request to Google. These requests can take 2-3 weeks to process. I hope that helps!

Ranking For Synonyms Without Creating Duplicate Content.
There's a 100 different ways to do this, but typically my favorite approach is to try to work the synonym into the same copy without seeming spammy. For example, if my primary keyword is "GMO" and my very literal synonym is "Genetically Modified Organism" then I'd try to work both variations into the copy. <title>GMO Dangers - Knowing the Risks of Genetically Modified Organisms</title> Here's a great article that goes into depth about the advantages of incorporating multiple variants into your SEO targeting http://cognitiveseo.com/blog/5370/941-traffic-increase-exploiting-the-synonyms-seo-ranking-technique/

Implementation Webmaster Tools Verification
Hi Erik With this setup - I fear you will have issues later on as well when trying to optimise the site for SEO (which part of the site will be accessible for the Google bot?) Rather than for Server Side redirects (based on ip) I would offer first time visitors to "Choose your country" page - and store their choice in a cookie, so they are redirected to the proper site on subsequent visits. As an example of what I mean: http://www.volvocars.com/language-selector. This way you can validate the webmastertools using both GA or HTML file. If that is not an option, than DNS seems to be the only proper way to do the validation (it is not as complicated as it may seem) rgds, Dirk

Building a National SEO Stratergy
That's a good idea. Then you will have some evidence that you were correct in advising not to go down this path. I would get screenshots to document. There are lots of interesting comments on that google announcement, and lots of articles about it, as it was only released yesterday.

University website outbound links issue
Totally agree with Dirk. If the links offer value to the visitor and if grouped are tightly and obviously associated with the theme of the page then they should always be left as is. If there is a hint of paid for they should be no-follow, but in essence having no-follow means you don't trust the page/site so why have it there in the first place (unless there is some commercial interest in having it there).

Yext Power Listings and SEO Question...
Hi Miriam, Thanks for your reply. Yext may be overkill for what I want right now, so I'm going to try Moz Local and another, less well known service (LocalSiteSubmit) and see which seems to do the best job of showing me the status quo, and fixing errors and omissions. Sort of an A/B test for site submit tools. Looking forward to trying the Moz tool, I have a lot of respect for the entire Moz brand so imagine this will be another solid tool. Appreciate your response! ~Michael

Ranking a Website that Services Multiple Cities
Hi Deedra, Are you saying you have multiple physical locations from which you are serving multiple cities, or just one physical location from which you are serving multiple cities? And, also, are you meeting with clients face-to-face or is this a virtual business model? These nuances are important.

Google Custom Search Options
You can define what sites results are returned. Which is why I said I would be great for domains with sub-domains. Its been awhile but I think you have to upgrade to paid to turn off Google ads from showing up. There was some reason besides the "Custom Look" which moved us to paying for it. It is super easy to install, you can make a blank page on your site and use the free version and see how you like it. We did this before going to paid. Hope that helps Monica, Don
