Hi Dave There's a few things you can do: First, when uploading the image, under "Attachment Display Settings" don't choose "link to attachment page" - this is what links the image to the URL. Choose "none" "media file" or "custom URL". Next, if you're using the Yoast SEO plugin you can redirect all of these unique URLs back to the post page. Under your "Permalink" settings, choose "Redirect attachment URLs to parent post URLs" I don't think you will have to end up uploading with FTP, so let me know if that helps. -Dan

You'll probably have to do a campaign per location. Do they have separate URLs to track as well? If that's the case you'll get better data by creating a campaign per location. Same goes for Moz Local as you'll want your NAP to align with each location there as well. Cheers!

What did the reviewer do?   First, this is a person who has a lot of knowledge about me and my websites from doing work on them several times over a period of several years.  I told the person to review the entire site and give me a list of the things that they would do if the website belonged to them.  I offered access to analytics and would answer any questions. I got back a big "to do list" that would significantly improve the site and require lots of work.  Doing the tasks on the list cost many times more than the review.  My problems have been solved but I am still working on the list because the list will improve the site.

What are you thoughts on a strategy like that? I would not do them.  As long as there is other work that could be done on the site, I would not be writing about irrelevant topics.

It's really hard to say, and it's definitely not unheard of for rankings to vary wildly between search engines. It's possible that you lost some ranking power when you nofollowed those links, or that Google is just trying to figure out where to rank you now that your link profile has changed. It's also possible that it's completely unrelated. Honestly, that's why I recommend the Full SERP Report—it might help you work out what it is that's letting the sites ranking above you pull ahead.

With HREFLANG tags, you are sending weird signals. I would recommend ensuring that /ie/ is claimed in Google WMT and targeted to Ireland. The content in the subfolder needs to be specific to your Ireland market, meaning it needs to have different content. It doesn't have to be completely different, but different. Otherwise, it looks like duplicate content and the SEs are going to pick the stronger of the two. Right now, you are telling them that the only difference in the content is that /ie/ is in Irish English, and /gb/ is in British English. It's not different enough to warrant showing the other content over your main homepage as that is stronger. Does that all make sense? I would remove the HRELFANGs, ensure the right targeting is in place and that the content is different per country to target those countries.

Hi Gary illyes from Google confirmed today at BrightonSEO that its just mobile that will be affected - tablet rankings WILL not be affected. He also confirmed this wont in the April 21st update it wont affect Google Business listings. Thought I would let you all know. Thanks Andy
