  • Hi, Find your single.php file in your theme folder.  THen change: to <h1 < span="">class="post-title entry-title"></h1 <> plus make sure you change the closing tag to that will be shortly after where you find that. If you have a child theme (recommended) then you will need to find this file in the main theme, and copy it across to your child theme before changing. NB: Make sure you back up before changing stuff!

  • Again, so much great feedback. Thank you!!!! What I've opted for doing then is this: <title>: Acupuncture Services in Gainesville Florida<br /><h1>: Acupuncture<br />Content: No mention of gainesville, just mention of word Acupuncture<br /><img> alt: Acupuncture treatment needles<br />Footer: Location info in schema markup<br />Citations: Working on them...</p> <p>That sound OK to you :)</p> <p>(BTW Here;s the page: http://gainesvilleholistichealthcare.com/treatment-options/acupuncture/ )</p> <p>One more related question (I promise!). Feel free to take a pass on this one ;)</p> <p>These guys offer a few other services in addition to Acupuncture. I'm very tempted to do simiilar <title>'s for all of them, swapping out the word Acupuncture for the various services. E.g.:</p> <p>Acupuncture Services in Gainesville Florida<br />Electroacupuncture Services in Gainesville Florida<br />Tui Na Massage Services in Gainesville Florida<br />...etc.</p> <p>Is that a horrible idea?</p> <p>Thanks soo much. </p> <p> </p></title>

  • Hi Christine! Just clarifying for myself—when you say your page juice isn't going through, are you specifically referring to DA/PA? Or something else (SERP position, etc.)?

  • Hi Mark Here's Google's stance on Infinite scroll search-friendly recommendations using this page created by John Mueller as an example - Quicksprout also builds on this with some tips of their own. Hope this helps! Good luck!

  • Hi there To me, this doesn't sound natural. But that's just my opinion. If you handle a proper local SEO campaign and create content around acupuncture and your services, you will appear for local based searches, because you are topically relevant and you have told search engines "based on my listings, Google+ verified profile, and citations, I am a Gainsville acupuncture business". Hope this helps! Good luck!

  • Hi John! I'm afraid there isn't a way to "merge" campaigns together. Your campaigns are each tracking specific sub-folders and different competitors. You could use the New Orleans campaign as the primary since this is tracking all pages for the domain, then choose the top 3 competitors you want to track and add keywords (if there is room) from the other campaigns to track. Hope this helps

  • You do not ever need to position the same NAP on 2 nearby commercial enterprise websites. You will simply further harm the original penalized website if you try this, and, you may simultaneously be tying the brand new internet site to a penalized entity.

  • Hi there Here's a fantastic resource on Moz that can give you quite a bit of information and direction. There's a lot there, so make sure you take the time to go step by step through it. I'd also take a look at these content audit and backlink audit resources, especially to find potential links to remove or update for the old site. Hope this helps! Good luck!

  • There have been a few changes over the last few weeks that could affect rankings.  Google released a "Quality Algorithm" that seems to be like Panda but isn't Panda.  More info here: http://searchengineland.com/the-quality-update-google-confirms-changing-how-quality-is-assessed-resulting-in-rankings-shake-up-221118 The mobile friendly algo started to roll out April 22, but I see that you are mobile friendly so that's probably not it. Google also released a new doorway pages algo but we don't know exactly when. If you've got cookie cutter pages (i.e. targeting different cities, etc.) this could possibly be a factor. It's tough to say for certain what the issue is though. I'd also be looking at whether or not you made any changes to the site recently as technical issues could be a factor as well.

  • If it's that you have both www & non-www versions of your site, you need to do this through the .htaccess file. Have a look at this page for some info on how to create a bit of code to add in there. This link is assuming you want the www version of the site to be the one you use. http://dense13.com/blog/2008/02/27/redirecting-non-www-to-www-with-htaccess/ -Andy

  • Content needs to be vastly different, not just slightly varied. This can be painful, and take a lot of time and creativity to figure out how to write the same 300-500 words in a different way. I wrote a personal blog post not too long ago on ways to write content for location pages: http://doyledigital.com.au/content-for-location-pages/

  • Hey There! If your scenario is like those in which two brands share a location, Google speaks to this in the guidelines, which read: ------ Two or more brands at the same location If your business location combines two or more brands, do not combine the brand names into a single listing. Instead, pick one brand’s name for the listing. If the brands operate independently, you may use a separate listing for each brand at this location. Not Acceptable: "KFC / Taco Bell" or "Dunkin' Donuts / Baskin Robbins" Acceptable: "Taco Bell", "KFC", "Dunkin’ Donuts", "Baskin Robbins" ------ So, in this scenario, Google does permit a unique GMB listing if the brands 'operate independently', and, one could infer from this that separate Schema would be okay. To be honest, the part of this I'm not totally clear on is Google's personal definition of what 'operate independently' means, and my best advice would be to get on the phone with them to request a specific definition. In your shoes, if your brands do not have the recognition of KFC or Taco Bell, I would feel some concern about merging or listing takedowns, if Google were to determine internally that you've got 1 brand trying to appear like 2. So, best advice: call Google on this and be prepared to show exactly what the 2 businesses are. Hope this helps!
