Learn how to build links using Fresh Web Explorer: Get your Daily SEO Fix!
Hi Saddat! Thank you for your comment! Below are two more link building strategies you can employ by using the Link Opportunities tab in Open Site Explorer. Select the Reclaim Links tab to find broken pages on your site that have inbound links. You can then redirect these links to a working page. Select the Unlinked Mentions tab to see sites (and pages) that mention your company but do not link to you. You can then sort these by mention authority and if you see a reputable site that you respect, reach out to request a link. Hope this helps! Thanks, Kelly

Strategies to recover from a Google Penalty?
Thank you both for your expertise! Marie your article is a marvelous resource. We will continue to dig into the GA but will also seriously consider pursuing the landing page suggestion with a nofollow link out. Since we are rewriting content as well as redesigning, it seems that will produce the best chance to heal the site.

Why is this guy at the top p1
Hi Cocoonfxmedia, Thanks for sharing the websites. Yes, it appears you're dealing with a website that's walking a very fine line (arcimedia.co.uk) at the moment. One look at its backlink profile and you can see how over optimized the website's anchor text truly is. Unfortunately, this isn't uncommon, especially in the digital marketing/web design niche. This proves that Google's algorithm isn't perfect at identifying spammy backlink profiles. It may also be the case that their website has a few authoritative links point to it or another website that 301 redirects to it. The only real solution is to continue to fight the good fight. I wouldn't be surprised to see this website pop out of the search results at some point in the future due to an algo update or manual penalty. It's a hard pill to swallow, but I would continue to focus on your local SEO efforts (building quality citations, local links, engaging local content, acquiring reviews, etc). It isn't worth jeopardizing the long-term potential of a website, in my opinion, to receive short term rankings. Best of luck,

Title Length Vs Keywords
Hi there This is more from a search standpoint and how much of your title will show. If your titles are getting the main point of the content across in SERPs, with keywords toward the front of the title, then you should be fine. That said, I would not add too many or repeat keywords as this could be consider over optimization and keyword stuffing, which can trip spam filters, and it will also make your titles long. Here are some tips from Moz on title tags, there is also a tool to test your title tags and their appearance. Hope this all helps! Good luck!

Are links still considered reciprocal if the link from one website is rel="nofollow" and the other isnt ?
That's a pretty big debate, actually. Google's Matt Cutts has said that they don't provide any SEO value, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they hurt you. In my opinion, they're still useful for their intended purpose—informing the press about newsworthy events. By my understanding, best practices include 1) make sure the links in the press release are nofollowed, and 2) avoid posting the press release verbatim on your own site. This actually came up in Q&A back in March. That thread might help clear things up for you. There are a few articles linked in the original post if you really want to get into things. Sorry that's not a more definitive answer. As I said, it's definitely something that's debated.

Images not appearing in Google Images SERPS
Don't know. It probably depends on which images you fetched and rendered. I did some image searches and wasn't able to find many images on your site, only the ones whose actual file names were visible in the HTML.

Backlink for Old publised Article
Hey Rajiv, I don't think there is anything wrong with this approach as you're just updating your previously published post with some links and this is what all marketers suggested. Usually this happens, when you intend to update your most/least traffic acquired pages. I'd suggest you to work on these things as well, Add an editor's note. Something like, "This post was originally published at "date" and has been revamped or updated with latest information" Remove outdated content. Update the facts according to latest studies. Add more internal links if you have produced new relevant pages. Update screenshots if required. After all these changes, share your article again and I'm sure it will get more traffic/ exposure and look more natural. Hope this helps! Thanks,
