Hi! This is a metric I would care less about, it's not something that is good or bad. It's just something that could happen. For example, look at this Q&A page, I bet that 98% of the HTML on this page is templated and only the questions and answers are obviously different. Is that bad? No, it's certainly not. There are likely many other factors in SEO to worry about more. Use the overall rule that you always want to add more content to your pages, but in itself, I wouldn't worry about code <> text ratio as something to improve. Martijn.

Thanks for the reply! I really didn't want to use a plugin, but I take your point...maybe it's a need. I have recently been working with Ghost, which looks like a better option for the blog (the entire project/site is a blog). I only have one category, so everything is going to be paginated, potentially. Ghost handles this differently - hence my preference there. Cheers.

Moz and Ahrefs offer excellent backlink trackers, but while Moz focuses on who linked to it (and offers more limited filters), Ahrefs shows you who linked and general trends, displayed as charts on the dashboard.Similarly, when it comes on keyword, Moz is the best choice. It's great for gaining a deeper insight on website and competitors.  To solve this problem, you have to have a great follow up. Check again and again Moz update there data after few days.

I would increase the amount of great content and improve the quality of the content that is already in place.  Content is what people link to.  Great content = quality links = high DA.

Thanks, Paddy! That was well timed! I am in the process of developing a blog and am lining up my ducks SEO-wise before I go live. I think I have opened a can of worms. I have asked the question of StudioPress - why a page allocated to Posts Page is not canonicalised, and neither are paginated pages. Category pages are canonicalised but I'd rather show a dedicated blog page as opposed to a category page for the blog (I only have one category). I don't want to use a plugin. I have even been tempted by Ghost but looks like I need a PhD to figure that out! Thanks again
