  • Hi Enjin! If Martijn's response answered your question, mind marking it a "Good Answer?" Otherwise, how can we help more?

  • Converting all of those articles will take time. I would design the site architecture and template and then immediately publish each article as soon as it is ready.  This will get the articles flowing out into the search engines and get the money flowing in.

  • Hi, Do nothing until Google has rolled this out and confirmed that they are going to go with it. You don't want to make lots of changes if you only have to change them all back again - this could cause you a number of issues. -Andy

  • Hello Andy, Thanks for taking the time. The product guide is a separate text only page with info-graphics and related text. There is only that one page. I don't see there is a canonical issue with this page, compared to the product pages as where items can be added to the shopping cart. I think this is what you refer to when mentioning the canonical issues with e-commerce sites. This part should be covered. Kim

  • Ok so its late and i should of done a bit more research before starting. The new site was built on woocommerce and it looks liek the code is messy and allot of code in the backend is unnecessary and not showing on front end. Yet it shows in code. Something to do with the dynamic plugins that create the home page. I will turn the home page into a static page via a developer to see if we can fix this issue wit kewyord spamming on our home page and report back some days after this change has been accepted by google. If anyone has any experiecne wit woocommerce and how to easily fix the home page source without re-doing it into a staitc page pelase let me know. Maybe theres a plugin or a quick fix. Thank you

  • Hi Karl, Google doesn't mind a bit of content that is the same page on page - they have said so in the page. If the page requires that there is a bit of the content that is duplicated, as long as it serves a purpose, you will be absolutely fine. Look at the pages and see if what is there would be considered beneficial to the page. The issues for duplication tend to arise when you are copying huge swathes of text from one page to another, plagiarising others work or even spinning. By what you have said, it sounds like you will be absolutely fine, but feel free to post an example here or PM it to me if you wish and I will happily take a look -Andy

  • Just to be sure - you want to present something like this: IP Address = New York Visitor is seeing a page domain.com/results_for_new_york with canonical domain.com/results_generic This might work - but it's not really a correct use of a canonical url (which is intended for duplicate content which is not really the case here) - so not sure if Google is going to respect the canonical in this case (canonical = hint - not a directive) Personally wouldn't do it this way. • Actually they are a global company, but for their country specific domains they are currently just showing the same content as the .com My thinking was whether google.CH would prefer a .CH domain over a .com domain even if the content is the same? If so local domains that are country specific would work (let's assume all domains have 0 back links)

  • Hi there! Tawny from the Help Team here. I wish I had better news for you, but unfortunately, there's no way to transfer Mozpoints to a new account. I definitely understand that you’d like to keep the Mozpoints created in the account. Unfortunately, Mozpoints are tied directly to the account they were created under and are owned by the account itself. Because of this, they cannot be transferred between accounts. We consider the account owner to be the person actively paying the subscription fees. If your company has been paying for the subscription directly, or reimbursing you for the fees, they would be the owners of all information in the account, including any Mozpoints awarded. I know that’s likely not what you want to hear, and I wish I had better news there! You can certainly check to see if your company is willing to allow you to keep this account, and they create a new one, though few are willing to do that. For users who find themselves in this scenario, we usually recommend that they strongly consider personally paying for the future subscription themselves, so that a move between companies won’t force another account creation. I hope this helps explain. Sorry that we can't transfer your Mozpoints for you!

  • Hi, I heard RSS Feed helps in ranking. No, this is not a ranking factor. I have never heard of or seen any research about this either. Think about all the sites that rank exceptional wall without one. Use it if you seed your content around, but don't think it will do anything for your SEO. -Andy

  • Hi there Eric! The Yellowpages listing we are associating with your Moz Local listing is simply a best-match search for that site. Often this means we're not seeing a better match in the Yellowpages backend at that time. This can happen for a number of reasons, including the page not being available in the Yellowpages API, or updates not yet taking affect in their backend. We're constantly listening for matches on that site, so your best bet is make sure the YP listing matches your Moz listing exactly. Unfortunately, since we're not directly partnered with YP, there's not much we can do to force the listing to surface from our end. If you know it's correct but we can't pick it up, the only real downside is a slight ding to your listing score. I hope that clarifies things!

  • Hi Chase, Removing dev via web master tools should do the trick for now. Then since google won't get to dev anymore you should be safe. Adding both noindex and password protection is not needed. Since it's password protected Google won't get to see the noindex on the pages. So you should only do one of the two. No need to change now. The password protection is safe. As expected 'dev.chiplab.com' was removed from the SERP.  Now, I'm a bit worried that the link equity was transferred for good to the subdomain from 'www.chiplab.com'.  That's not possible, right? *** Yes, that's not possible so you are good. Only 301 redirections are "mandatory" for Google to pass equity - so all good.

  • Hey There! If you're just offering 1 service in 1 city, I do not see the point of having a 'driveway cleaning' page and a 'driveway cleaning glasgow' page. Rather, I'd make the homepage strong about your customers + city + service and then I'd build out content about various aspects of driveway cleaning that would also mention your geography. I'd fire up something like http://answerthepublic.com/seeds/290501 and start developing additional pages like: Should you use caustic soda for driveway cleaning? Should driveways be cleaned with chlorine? The pros and cons of pressure washing driveways. Research both via online tools and direct interviews with your customers + staff to discovers what common customer questions are and start developing the best content in your city around these topics. Highlight your trust metrics via testimonials, reviews and guarantees. Show your before-and-after work. Seek out opportunities for community involvement and publicize them. With just one service in one city, you'll have to take a granular approach to grow beyond being a 5 page website to being the most informative and useful local brand. Hope these ideas get you going.

  • Hi Jonathan, When I visit your site and I go to www.swiftcomm.co.uk/, it redirects me to www.swiftcomm.co.uk, so this looks OK.If I check the Google cache for both versions of the URL, the only one cached is www.swiftcomm.co.uk/ - this looks fine to me. Might I suggest you download Screaming Frog and run a crawl with that as well, just to be sure. I can't do this today myself as I am on a Chrome box. -Andy
