The relationship between Social Media and SEO?
A well architected and engaging website, SEO and social media are all intertwined. Each one helps the other. How much depends on your objectives. Alexandra Tachalova's post demonstrates how social media can impact exposure, links, and engagement.

Any good and advanced custom attribution model?
I actually haven't heard of that, but it might be referring to how conversions are counted after attribution modeling is applied? Example (with totally made-up numbers): AdWords has 100 conversions when using a last-click model. When applying a first-click model, AdWords only has 25 "weighted conversions". That's just a guess though. I also can't find any additional information on it. Do you have a source where you saw that term that I can read? That'd help.

SERP result (URL) doesn't change after a 301
Thanks Danny, Currently working in search console incl. updating the site map and so on. The change of address tool is not applicable to this situation as the 'old' URL was some kind of a testing environment (without GSC implemented) that was indexed before I started in this role ... So wanted to get that result removed from the index by redirecting it to the correct location. André

Google Index Issue - Indexing pages that don't exhist
Although being hacked seems like the only reason I can think of at the moment, I am still scratching my head! Its only showing the HTTPS urls in the Google search results. Not in Bing or Yahoo etc. I can't see any of the HTTPS urls when I perform a crawl of the site in programs such as Screaming Frog. I could understand if we were hacked that it would show spammy results with dodgy links but the results aren't spammy, the Titles and Descriptions are from one of our customers websites? Their site has not been hacked though.

Why some websites can rank the keywords they don't have in the page?
Also who is the guy lol name them if you suspect wrongdoing or unethical behaviors! I know of at least one page 1 ranking site around my locality that ended up converting a student organization domain with a lot of .edu backlinks and then just ran with it for seo and represented itself in multiple irrelevant and across the country large cities. They even blatantly dared to SELL backlinks on their site... in broad daylight! in 2016! Needless to say I reported them to Google and saw them get kicked down a notch to page 2 for my test keywords from earlier searches.

Nice Domain Authority but Not Ranking
Thanks for the tips but I would love to know if you have any experience with receiving a penalty and not recovering your rankings even a year later. Also, its quite confusing that the DA is not bad! Is that a symptom of a bigger issue?

Google loves me. Yahoo and Bing not so much...
Hi MissThumann, Wouldn't it be nice if they could just tell us what we all need to do to rank well? #wishfulthinking As you probably know the ranking factors are not appreciably different for Bing/Yahoo than for Google, but you will always see some disparity between them. Based on this, I suggest that you make sure you are as diligent with your Bing Business Listing as you are with Google. We tend to put a major focus on Google, but ensuring that your Bing Business Listing is verified and filled out completely is an important starting point. That will assist you in locally ranking for Bing queries. Otherwise, look at those ranking ahead of you and see what they are doing you are not, then see if you can manipulate a page to rise in the rankings. If you aren't try using Bing Webmaster Tools so you can find better insights into which pages are getting traffic through Bing and which aren't so you can determine which pages might need the content tweaked for Bing. Like Julie suggested, find out how important it really is for this website to be ranking on Bing (or Yahoo). Do these search engines bring in enough traffic for you to devote a lot of time trying to decode the algorithm? Or are you better off putting most of your eggs in one basket with Google? Good luck!

Url blocked by robots.txt errors - Search Console
Hi, Thanks for this. I actually figured it out. There was a broken link hidden on the page. Inspected it to find it and removed it. Indexing now. Cheers!

"Keywords Showing" total doesn't match "Tracked Keywords" total
Hey Madeline! Just to clarify, that 453 number represents the amount of keywords you have left to add. You would want to take 750-453 to find out exactly how many keywords have been used already. Each keyword you add to each campaign will be counted as a separate keyword, and you won't see any added to one campaign show up in another campaign.

301 redirection for e-commerce website
Hi Bernadeete, Thanks for your reply. The problem for us is that the URL may also changes not just subdomain. e.g., https://www.liquorland.co.nz/product1.aspx --> https://shop.liquorland.co.nz/product2.aspx The current domain www.liquorland.co.nz will be hosted on a new CMS and direct people to the e-commerce part which now has moved to shop.liquorland.co.nz. We are thinking about redirecting just the main category pages because too many redirection rules as our developer said may hinder the website speed. But I am just worried without proper 301 redirection for many other pages, it may have a negative impact on its organic performance although i am not quite sure how big impact this would be. Would it be helpful if i redirect all other pages (so there will not be any complex filters to slow down the website?) to the homepage? Thanks a lot.

Keywords moving up, except...
The frustrating part of this is that we're doing things the same across the board. Everything else flourishes, except this. Other keywords for this page are sex addiction help, sex addiction treatment, porn addiction, internet porn addiction, sex addiction symptoms. I agree that the competition is tough. I think the algorithm changes since May of last year have been our demise. We used to be on page one!

Reducing multi-page website to one page & SEO ramifications?
simple, you have 1 logical URL with a bunch of anchors around the page that scrolls to different "subpages", but again, you are still on that one URL for ranking and optimization purposes. Google does not consider your different sections of the same page (despite the change in /pagepart or # part of the web address) as separate pages. Now, imagine you sell SEO & web design in Austin, TX. If you had a single page to try and optimize and rank for two sets of keywords related to each service, the page will not be focused on either one specifically. This means a competitor who decided to separate out their pages topically with unique URLs for each can also separate their anchor text profile for each page, using proper and old school meta tags in the right places instead of having a bunch of H1s all over one page, among a bunch of other things that they can segregate and focus to optimize better, will have a much easier time getting their independent subpages rank better than your catch all page. I guess the best way I can describe it is: do you like to go to a long ass page and scroll down scroll down to find what you are looking for.... or do you like to land on a precisely relevant page with what you are looking for right up top and also all over that page with all the juicy details? I guarantee you most users will answer for the latter. For these reasons, it is a much tougher task to make a 1-pager win from an SEO-standpoint when compared to multi-page competition (assuming everyone involved is doing a fine job on both sides), but more importantly you must think more of UX than UI. You must think of the experience than the trend. Trends die off. One-pagers are a limited application trend that does not apply to a lot of sites and businesses out there.

Organic keyword ranking drops across the board?
There seems to have been significant movement in the SERPs around November 10th in the US (which could have hit the UK a couple of days later, although I have no data to support that). Unfortunately, we don't have much in the way of details or confirmation right now. Are you seeing any specific pattern in the loss? I'm not quite sure I understand what the graphic is showing.
