Attribution model - the weighted number of conversions - GA
Thank you. But, hm, I don't know. I'm using a data driven attribution model with 12 channels. If I increase boost for 1.4, my boost weighted conversions will grow from 8 to 8.50. How can I see, how much real conversions I will get with that change?

Do you think its better to have a published date AND a last updated date ? Does google even look if you updated but left the published date old
I agree about not using css to hide the date. I would not hide anything on a webpage. I don't know enough about WordPress to tell you how to do that. It probably can be done, but I don't know for sure.

Are CPAN (perl modules distributed hosting) links bad?
Thanks, Andy. They've been around for a long time so I can't say they've created a drop. I'm more or less wondering if they could be holding us back. They show up in SEMRush as having spam scores that vary. I'm going to disavow the ones above 50 and see what happens. Probably not much but we'll see.

How many 7000 word articles before we should launch
Hi Bob, 14 is a real good number to be honest. Now, I think you should start focusing on pushing it to your target audience. So, that they get to know about it (and ultimately about your site/ product). So, when you launch, it finally converts for you. Few quick things: I personally love reading long articles full of action items / insights. But, there are few things that I hope you have checked: a) What is the ideal length of posts in your niche?? Just because Google loves long posts ( Here is a support article for this) your all posts should be lengthy. Writing for search engines is good. But, writing your target audience will drive better results for your content marketing efforts. b) If possible, talk to 2-3 people (who you think belong to your target audience) and ask them: What types of posts they like to read --> lengthy / short/ medium What all types of topics they like to read about?? Use tools like Hotjar to see how readers are interacting with your posts? This should give you fair idea. BTW, an ideal number would be 4-6 posts ( because these many posts are good enough for readers to decide whether they want to follow a blog or not) Hope this helps

Any new tips on how to speed up re-listing after re-design?
This is brilliant info John, thank you so much. Could you clarify what you mean by "Think about a) sending small amounts of traffic to your new pages to track conversions and interaction and b) you can expose some specific pages to the search engines to see how the search engines treat them. This would be very hard to do with a separate site." ? Are you suggesting rolling out the new site page by page would be better than all at once? That wouldn't be possible if rolling out the site on the current domain... It would be great to get a proper handle on exactly what you mean. Thanks for the contact info- I will be in touch!

Recently been hacked
Hi Kevin so I got a message saying your reconsideration has been approved but your rankings may not improve or words to that effect. i think the next step is a link detox. Im considering having someone who is experienced with recovering Google penalties. I don't want to have to change domain unless it's a last resort. another think to mention is that I'm getting high traffic from exotic places and Russia. Also my bounce rate is 4.2% which is weird.

Facets Being Indexed - What's the Impact?
I think I'd have to request these. I know it's something I need to look at, but I;m not sure how high a priority I should put on it. Do you think it would make a huge difference if they were stopped from being crawled?

Product Page Links
Hi John, thanks for the answer, I really appreciate it, and it's given me some things to work on. I can't see any changes my competitors have made, and they also haven't moved in the rankings, all that happened was I added a couple of paragraphs of extra text to the top of our page, and then about a week later it dropped out of the top 100. I added that extra text around 10 November, and since then have only made very minor tweaks to try and get it to re-appear. I'll do as you suggested and in response to your specific points: Bulk up pages like https://www.hurtlegear.com.au/bmw/ as that should be able to rank for some head keywords - when you say "bulk up", would you consider it bulked up in it's current form? Or do you mean even more text than that? On this /s1000rr/ page, remove the links from the images and rely on the anchor text link. Reducing unnecessary internal links like this has been shown to help rankings - will do, thanks You could expose these model pages in your HTML sitemap. They're currently 3-4 clicks from the homepage, and bringing them up in your hierarchy could help get them crawled more - will do, thanks. Cheers, Graeme EDIT: Just after I posted this I've noticed we've reappeared at number 19. Will still implement those changes though, they sound sensible to me.
