Sitemaps for landing pages
Yes, any URL that has over 50,000 URL's should have a sitemap_index, within that xml sitemap index should have listed the other category specific URL sitemaps. These are best organized in the hierarchy of the website structure to reinforce your schematic URL structure.

No difference anymore between 301 and 302
There's a lot of nuance to what is being said there. As others in the community have said, if you were going to test it out yourself on your own site and put your own income and business on the line, would you choose a 302 over a 301 without testing it? We saw what happened to Wired as they were going HTTPS and used 302s - https://www.wired.com/2016/09/wired-completely-encrypted/ Google has also said, and some people have been able to test for different reasons, that if a 302 is left in place long enough then Google may start treating them like 301s and start passing link equity through a 302. But, that's a lot of ifs and uncertainties, at least way too many for me.

Rankings rise after improving internal linking - then drop again
"My theory is that the uplift generated by the internal linking is subsequently mitigated by other algorithmic factors relating to content quality or site performance or..." I think your initial analysis of the situation is right. Look to improve user-experience, conversion rates and interactions on those pages and try your experiment again. I don't like using bounce rate as a metric for this for several reasons, but if you use Time On Site, Pages Per Visit, or track interactions, such as when they scroll past 50% of the page or click a button... There are plenty of ways to gauge whether your changes are providing a better experience for visitors from search results, which in turn should be roughly the same thing that pleases the algorithm.

Country specific SEO
Refreshing content on the same URL based on the users IP is a very bad decision in terms of international SEO, because Google will see only one of the two versions. What you have to do is, eventually: or change the visible prices and currencies depending on IP of the users (but letting them still being able to change the currency for UX) but not changing the content. or creating a second version (in subfolder for instance) targeting the other market you desire to target. The second one is the best solution Yours is not.

Can we use "top 10" in title?
Hi, I think adding Top 10 to your title tag will definitely help with your CTR since many users are looking for lists such as this. You might get a temporary uplift in rankings, but if the user comes to your site and then doesn't find the word "Top 10" near the top of the page and just sees a list of 25 hotels, they will most likely get confused and just leave your site without staying for very long. Especially if you just have a random list of hotels with no regards to rankings at all. Thus your rankings might suffer since Google tracks dwell time on a page and user's intent. So, if the user just leaves your site right away then that temporary uplift in your ranking might be lost. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Using Google to find a discontinued product.
Yes, that would make for a better internet indeed. A lot of these occur because the merchants keep the discontinued product URL in their feed and/or the page returns a 200 status code. Technically this should be considered a "soft 404" since what the user was looking for isn't there.

What all other SEO tool (along with Moz) are you using at your company / SEO Agency / Marketing Agency?
We like to use Agency Analytics for keyword ranking tracking. It's updated daily, allows us to add any keywords we want to track, then we can track the keywords over a period of time. It shows the ranking changes since the first time the keyword is input into the program. So after 12 months we can see how a keyword has progressed. Another great tool is Pitchbox, we do lots of outreach and this program automates much of it. It allows for us to find many new sites, email addresses, and track the sites we contact. Highly recommended. Chris Adficient.com

Do you think have to re-submit my site to search engines after I made improvements?
Thanks for your help, Carson! I just realized that I put in http://example.com while using Open Site Explorer. When I searched for http://www.example.com, I received the result with PA 29. Once Moz tech support rep told me that in ranking results, only the best optimized page is shown for a particular keyword. I'm doing optimization for an appliance repair company and some time ago we created area pages (burbank-appliance-repair.html, etc.) for area based services (like burbank appliance repair, for example). I decided to promote area based services through our blog and created respective blog posts (post for Burbank Appliance repair, etc) I made sure to delete all previous area pages links but I didn't delete area pages from server. And they are still shown in Moz ranking results as pages for my high ranking keywords. Do you think that those pages are really better optimized and I should go back to them? My blog posts are also shown for some keywords in ranking results, but not for highly ranking area based services keywords...

Google is showing the Wrong Date for our Holiday.
Yeah, unfortunately, that's core Knowledge Graph (not a Featured Snippet), so it's coming from a partnered data source. I'm not sure where they're pulling this from, though, as the Wikidata/Wikipedia entries seem correct: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Shipping_Day There's not even a "report" option on this one, so I'm afraid Alick300 is right - you're going to have to contact Google directly, I'll ask around on Twitter, but Google isn't transparent at all about these data sources.

Duplicate page content for similar products, but they're not the same.
Hey there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here. I think I can help explain why these pages are coming up as duplicates. Our tool has a 90% tolerance for duplicate content, which means it will flag any content that has 90% of the same code between pages. This includes all the source code on the page and not just the viewable text, so often it's a matter of finding the best answer for the duplicate pages in question. For instance, often with ecommerce sites, product pages will come up with duplicate content between two colors of the same item, and in that case it's good to use the canonical tag: https://moz.com/learn/seo/canonicalization If there are two versions of the site that exist - for instance, example.com/subfolder and www.example.com/subfolder - you can put in 301 redirects to the correct page: https://moz.com/learn/seo/redirection. If it's just two pages on different subjects but thin content, filling out that content with an extra paragraph or two can help. There are more in-depth explanations of common answers to duplicate content on this page, if you're curious!: https://moz.com/learn/seo/duplicate-content I hope this helps! If you still have questions we can help with, feel free to drop us a line at help@moz.com and we'll do our best to answer them for you!
