  • Well, To anyone that might be interested, the 'Real' Google UK search, updated about a week later to match the results I was getting on the Blackberry Google app. Guess that means I should keep an eye on the app results, as they give me a heads up as to whats going to hit the 'Real' web results. Really surprised though, that I didn't get more response, or support from the 'guys in the know' on here, unless this is a new revelation and nobody has come across it before - In which case, I claim it and it is now called 'Limegreen's Law'. I thank you (now speaking like a man who knows his stuff - however put on it is). Limegreen. Founder of Limegreen's Law

  • Nick, Thanks for checking. I had redirected in google Webmaster to non "www" homepage. Ironically, my rankings have actually gone down since I started using SEOMoz. Maybe I am just paying attention now. Thank you again, Eric

  • You just make your forum user friendly and easy to use, have interesting topics and discutions and then you will have quality traffic (more trafic u need, try link building, social networks, there is no easy way to make a good traffic to a destination, your pages must be intuitive and easy to read) you must invite people attract users to your forum not just make them see your page.

  • Correct. Each time page gets re-indexed pagerank flow will be recalculated.

  • If you look at Rand's latest White Board Friday, you'll see his opinion on article submissions for link building at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/article-marketing-mostly-a-scam-whiteboard-friday (hint: it's not real positive). I agree with Dejan SEO that there are better methods of link building, and don't spend a whole lot of time on this method.

  • I have a few questions Andrew. You want to target download.xml as a keyword and you do, but currently rank on page 2. Therefore you want to increase this rank to page 1. Why do you need to set up another page? Why is the current page not suitable for your needs, and can it be optimized better for this keyword? What is your intent for the new page? Why do you see a need to have a second page to target this keyword? You say you want to rewrite the URL. Are you saying you want to re-code the URL or do a re-write rule on the URL in the .htaccess file? With the information you have provided, I see no reason to create a new page, but simply optimize further the page that is already ranking for this term. Perhaps running it through the on-page report  card and building some inbound links with exact anchor text.

  • Ya, you got it right. I was worried that only changing out one word may look spammy to the SE's. I will work on wording my Q's better!

  • Good SEO practices apply for many search engines so if you do things by the book you should do well in all of them (unless we're talking about specialised ones). Bing and Yahoo run on the same engine so you should see similar or same results in both. Google, however, brings so much more traffic that we're internally not even looking at traffic at other individual search engines and instead treating it all as a) Google and b) "Other search engines". More specific to your question, a good starting point would be to go through this: http://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmasters/?rfp=1141441469

  • There were no detectable inbound links to any of those pages before the pagerank update. What other signals could have affected it... content quality alone? By the way content was written using the same writer and same quality level.
