Has anyone herd of or used link-assistant.
I took a quick look at that video, and can tell you we've all been on the receiving end of auto-generated link requests where the sender has obviously never looked at the site. Matt Cutts and Danny Sullivan have fun on occasion when they write about these types of requests. Lots of red flags go off when looking at this site, especially the guarantee about top rankings. No, I don't have any personal experience with this site, but in general this type of thing is something to avoid.

Google does not index individual facebook posts often?
If I understand your question right - I'd say that I generally see pages ranked rather than individual posts or pages within a greater page...but I may be misunderstanding.

Absolute vs relative urls
I agree that there's no longer any difference to the crawlers. However, one other thing worthy of consideration is the possibility of moving the site to a new URL. With relative URLs, you may be saved a lot of painstaking work, whereas with absolutes, every single page will have to be rewritten. There are tools to assist in the task, but it's still a lousy job to undertake.

The SEOmoz crawler is being blocked by robots.txt need help
Jason, if you can post the contents of your robots.txt file, or give us a link to the site in question, we can help you diagnose what is happening. A second question is -- what type of content is being blocked? If it's a directory like /admin that is being blocked, the robots.txt is likely working as intended. You can also verify your site in Google Webmaster Tools and look in there at the crawling section, as it will tell you what pages Googlebot hasn't been able to crawl. Google offers some help at http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2008/03/speaking-language-of-robots.html.

Can you set up a Google Local account under a PO Box?
Along those same lines, does anyone else know of any good services that will provide physical business addresses in certain locations? I know of some virtual office providers, but only found ones that do major cities, not smaller ones.

Learning link building
Be careful with outsourcing link building, but as far as it goes find websites or blogs that more or less on the same keyword. Try to negotiate with them about the link, maybe they will want to write about some of your products for free just because they like it.
