Keyword Difficulty Score Assesment
Hi, Moz says that keyword difficulty score is based in domain authority and page authority of the competing 20 search results for a keyword. I wonder if it only takes those 2 values because, in that case, that score would not be representative enough for the difficulty. Does not it take the onpage optimization -keyword in title, text, etc-? How do you determine the keyword difficulty? Your Keyword Difficulty Score is based on the Domain Authority and Page authority for the top 20 search results that keyword is pulling on Google. These sites are analyzed using our Mozscape index to pull Page Authority and Domain Authority. These two metrics (along with a host of others from the Mozscape index) help create the Keyword Difficulty score.

Different Geographies - New Domain or Subdomain?
I'm not abandoning the city or the website so I don't really want to change the main website to the new city. If I basically create a whole new website with content and SEO for CityB at BrandedCompanyName.com/City-B, would it be more difficult to rank for 2 separate geographies on the same domain? I'm basically thinking that this "subfolder" for CityB would have it's own site with unique content and I could point the CityBWebsiteDesign.com to this subfolder just for offline marketing purposes. Does this seem to be the best solution? Thanks, Jared

Image files names - should each be different ?
Currently images are named changing-cassette-1.jpg + text description, then another image with number 2.jpg and description to that and so on. It will be quite hard to name it accordingly to content. File name could be then pretty long in order to make it making any sense.

Canonicalization issue? - URLs with and without trailing slashes showing up as unique
Here's a good post (here at SEOmoz) about the rel=canonical tag: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/complete-guide-to-rel-canonical-how-to-and-why-not Here is a good resource for 301 redirects in other languages: http://www.webconfs.com/how-to-redirect-a-webpage.php I don't have much experience with .NET but it looks like there are two ways to accomplish it. 1) Make changes to IIS to create the permanent redirect, 2) create server side code (maybe you have to check what URL is being requested and redirect them to the correct format?). You should be able to use REGEX like is displayed in my original post to accomplish this in .NET. I would say the change directly in IIS, if you have access, is the way to go. Jared

Page title = h1, or slight variation of it?
Diversity is a sign of quality and will be a positive flag for GoogleBot. Having same head title, h1 title and h2 can't be a good sign nowadays. I recommend you make a SEO / CTR optimized HEAD title and a more verbal and more informative H1 title. At least make it slightly different. This won't make a huge difference although

Windows IIS7 Hosting Companies. Who to use?
Im not sure how you will handle 301 without access to IIS itself. Is there a reason why you want IIS7? If you can run apache with "classic asp" then would that work for you: http://www.apache-asp.org/install.html I personally use rackspace. If you know how to install everything then the cloud sites with 1GB of rank would do good for you which runs about 50 bucks a month.

Effective keyword grouping - any suggestions?
Your product category pages should only focus on 1 or 2 keywords. If you come out with a lot of keywords on one page, it may look like you are keyword stuffing. The only way to tell which are going to be your best keywords is by hooking up Google Analytics and setting up conversion goals. This will tell you he value of the keyword. If you are using Google adwords, it'll tell you if a particular keyword is making or losing you money. I always break things down into categories. Mens shirt, Womens shirt, Baby Shirt, Dog shirt. You won't run into so much duplication like you would with the two categories you are talking about (baby & shirt). Use the Control F in Excel to find and replace duplicate keywords.

Does keyword arrangement matter?
I run into this all the time with my site's keywords. If you go to Google and type in the various order of the keywords you will indeed get different results pages. If you go into Google Adwords Keyword Tool you will most likely see the exact same search numbers. What does this mean? Google obviously recognizes that these are in essence the same keyword and report back search behavior appropriately. This of course takes us back the SERPs which will be different (although often very similar - and the 1 ranking will often be the same) which is clearly more explicit in displaying rankings. One side note, I have noticed that plural and singular terms are often very different in search volume and SERPs - for example Blue Wide Widget vs Blue Wide Widgets. Here is a case were the intent would be the same (I would guess) but the user behavior must be so different that Google treats them completely separately. My recommendation: You should be building a breadth of anchor text anyway so link using them all with a predisposition to point using the term that Google suggest defaults to. Hope the helps!

Ranking on page 5 for a 1% difficulty keyword
Still no luck, I have built links and added some new content. The current SERP position is 37, Page Rank has also risen. Seems like an uphill struggle.

Duplicate content via syndication?
Yes Mike, the trick is that whenever someone reposts your article they link back to the original version. That can be embedded in your content, or they will also get that from the in your RSS feed.

Disadvantages & Advantages for this e-commerce URL Structure
with that super-flat structure you are missing out on the category and subcategory keywords being present in your product URL. It's minor, but I wouldn't do it that way. The traditional category/subcategory/product is preferred.
