Was Panda applied at sub-domain or root-domain level?
Hmm, I definitely think there is a page level element but Google have gone on record to say there's also a domain level impact. I imagine that the definition Google holds of a "site" is used in this case rather than slapping the whole domain.

Sitemaps. When compressed do you use the .gz file format or the (untidy looking, IMHO) .xml.gz format?
Thanks Big Bazza... I like the 'better' vs 'accepted' reasoning. Not too confrontational

Scapers and Other Sites Outranking
I would not rewrite. If your competitors are grabbing lots of your original content and using it you could contact an attormey to take copyright action against them or file DMCA complaints. You need to be really serious about this to take these steps and have the ability to prove the the content is your own.

Should I use a Page Name variable after the ? for a dynamic web page
I would certainly incorporate as many human readable elements as possible in the URL - these can only help improve the SEO for each product page. With regard to your concerns about keeping your URLs manageable - Could you not incorporate a unique element into the URL (such as the ISBN number or SKU reference) alongside a well structured keyword rich element - as you find on Amazon or Play.com for example: http://www.amazon.com/Art-SEO-Mastering-Optimization-Practice/dp/0596518862 or http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/90536/Four-Weddings-And-A-Funeral/Product.html Using a unique identifier would prevent duplicate URL issues and in some cases - books for example - it could actually help your rankings - If the unique reference was one that could also be searched for by potential buyers - The ISBN 10 number is incorporated in the Amazon URL example above - and regular readers who want a very specific edition of a product are likely to search using this in their search query. I would leave you with one suggestion - carry out any number of random product searches both within your niche and out of it - and note how many of the highest ranking URLs have a structure similar to the one you are currently considering versus structured, human readable URLs.

Https indexed - though a no index no follow tag has been added
Assuming the website we're talking about is the same as in your email address, I find the meta robots tag For the page https:// webshop . acsi . eu / en / checkout / onepage / (spaced to prevent indexation of this post). Are you sure the right meta tags are in place?

Why does our page show a description in english in google spain?
You are correct, those sites do show but only when you are searching for those domains. I'm not seeing a sitemap.xml file, but that would be strongly recommended. Google does support sitemap indexes, which would be perfect for you in this situation! You'll need to submit a separate sitemap for each language, and there you can identify the root/home page for each one. http://www.threebit.com/blog/seo/sitemaps-and-multilingual-websites.html You need to communicate to Google where your /es and /de are residing. Having sitemaps in place for each of those roots would be best. Further, if you are defaulting to English, you should probably have your root domain point to the English site (/en) since the root and the /en are essentially the same page. And yes, the root domain does have a language code in the head.

Is it better to link to the root domain or to the language home page?
Sounds like more of a user issue than an SEO issue really. Personally I would let them choose. You don't know what language someone is going to prefer. I'd go for the root domain.

What's affect more SEO between number of Facebook "Recommend" of number of fans of the facebook fan page?
Check out this article here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCz5ELUKGBk&NR=1 In it, Rand says that if you have quality fans (or followers in Twitter) who are sharing your stuff then this is helpful: Quantity of Friends/Followers - like links, it's likely the case that more is better, though there will likely be caveats; low quality bots and inauthentic accounts are likely to be filtered (and may be much easier to spot than spammy links, due to the challenge they find in getting any "legitimate" friends/followers). Importance of Friends/Followers - the friends/followers you have, like the link sources you have, are also probably playing a role. Earn high "authority" followers and you yourself must be a high authority person. Analysis of Friends/Followers Ratios - Much like the engines' analysis of the editorial nature of links, consideration of whether a social user is engaging in following/follower behavior purely out of reciprocity vs. true interest and engagement may be part of authority scoring. If you have 100K followers and follow 99K of them, but the engagement between you and your followers is slim, you're likely not as authoritative as an account with 100K followers + 5K following, but those followers are constantly engaged, retweeting, liking, sharing, etc. In my opinion, the most valuable thing you can get from facebook is when people click the like button on your website to share your stuff with their facebook friends. I think having fans is good - but mostly for social interaction with you and your brand. I think it helps when someone clicks "like" on a facebook post but I don't think it has a huge impact in the serps.

Duplicat Website Content? (UK, Ireland)
If both of your sites have a mixture of original and duplicated content (and also when dynamically generated urls are creating duplicate content) the surest thing to do is to declare the original source of the duplicate content using the rel=canonical tag. Now, if you are using duplicate content across domains you would use the cross domain rel canonical: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/12/handling-legitimate-cross-domain.html This will prevent the .ie version showing up in the SERPS. See also this link for info on the rel canonical tag: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=139394 And this article on duplicate content: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2008/09/demystifying-duplicate-content-penalty.html

Links from Youtube Channel
Hey Sean, I looked at the cached version of the YouTube channel of BMW ( http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:www.youtube.com/bmw&hl=fr&lr=&sa=G&strip=1 ) and it doesn't seem to have any kind of redirect on this one. You might have seen a redirect because you were logged into your account and looking at your own channel, like when you can edit it, so probably by logging out or by looking at the cached version by Google you should see that it is a plain juice flowing link. Regards, Guillaume Voyer. P.S. Look at http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:www.youtube.com/user/PretavoirUK&hl=fr&lr=&sa=G&strip=1
