How can I increase my domain authority score?
Good point, I guess it's partly because it's an 'unknown' factor right now and I want to find out more about it. We rank better than a couple of competitors who have much better page and domain authority scores and I'm curious as to why that is. It seems like there is a big discrepancy between how SEOmoz views our site and how Google views it (search rankings + toolbar PR), and I'm wondering what's causing it. We spend a lot of time on tools, content and website improvement, which definitely has a lot of customer benefits so it's worth doing it for that alone - customer satisfaction is our main focus. We have gained a lot of links and personal recommendations which are massively valuable in themselves, but domain authority hasn't increased at all. Thanks for your reply, always good to keep an eye on the bigger picture

Why am i still getting duplicate page title warnings after implementing canonical URLS?
Hi Dru, Looking at your page, it appears that you are using the wrong format for your rel=canonical tags. The tag I saw in your code was formatted as: where it should have the format: I think this should clear things up, but let me know if I am missed something. http://www.resnet.us/directory/auditor/az/89/home-energy-raters-hers-raters/2

Understanding No Follow
Hi Bob, I think you are asking about PageRank Sculpting. There was talk awhile ago about this no longer being practical and that the juice was lost due to changes in the algo. I think SEOmoz ran some tests on this that were inconclusive... so generally I think opinion is still PageRank Sculpting is dead. Maybe look up some stuff on faceted navigation to deal with the issues you may be having with the site. Hope this helps. G

Pagerank Update - Decreased Rankings
Its clear the term pagerank is ill defined. I would instead say that it is"clearly defined" but "poorly understood." description of pagerank PageRank is merely a measure of connectivity. It is determined by the number of pages that link to your site, the PageRank of those pages and the number of outgoing links that the hold. KW rank is determined by a very large number of factors. The greenbar pagerank that you see in the toolbar may not even be used in the same form that you see for determining rankings.

Ranking Tracking Tool Not Accurate?
Oh that would be evil, especial just after another update. Would certainly keep SEO's on their toes, and cause me to pull out more hair trying to rationalize some of the things I have seen over the past week.

How do i deal with duplicate content on the same domain?
Yea as Highland and Marcelo basically said it, if it's Duplicate content than the only thing you can really do is place a canonical tag, or just rewrite the content. Now I think from what Steve and I are getting from your question is that, you have "similar" content not the "same" content but "similar" content on your website. If it's similar content than I would simply try to add more content on one of the pages, or just rewrite it, or re-purpose the article. Hope that helps

Google's New Release "What do you love"
If this belongs to google they shoved it out the door before it was fully dressed.... or we are looking at something that was "leaked" instead of "launched".

Yellow Pages
To get a big site indexed and keep it in the index you must link deeply into the site at multiple points with heavy PR. This forces spiders into the bottom of the site and forces them to chew their way out through other pages. These should be considered permanent links. If you remove them the spider flow will stop and Google will eventually forget about your pages.

Are Word .doc or .txt files indexed into Search Engines?
Hi, The answer to your main question is yes, do a search on google for filetype:doc or filetype:txt and you'll see tons of doc and txt files indexed. The answer to your second question, if they offer any SEO, is a little more complex. You should try and see if you can get a page to be indexed if it is only linked from doc files. Judging by my experience, I rarely see doc or txt files in the SERPs and even more rarely click on them if they show up. I'd rather do a HTML version of the page with a link to download the doc file in a directory blocked to spiders to avoid duplicates. Best regards, Guillaume Voyer.
