From an SEO Standpoint, which is better for my product category URLs?
Presenting your URLs without the technology ending (i.e. html) is definitely preferable for numerous reasons. This question is frequently asked and I really should write an article on this topic. A couple examples as to why it is preferable: the .html offers no value to consumers and makes your URLs longer the .html lets the bad guys know what type of technology was used to create your pages the .html means that when you change your site to .php pages (a very common change) or any other technology, you will need to 301 your entire site which would lead to a loss of your link equity you worked so hard to build.

On Page Optimization vs. Anchor Text
I wouldn't say so, if you use brand terms for a specific anchor text terms, and then you join that up with another factor such as an EMD (exact match domain) factor. Connected with correct on page optimization. Then you need to target only a percentage of the natural links you acquire to have the term within the anchor text.

Are Guest Post Anchor Text Links Evil?
Thanks Joe. I thought he was talking about corporations asking if they can provide a guest post with specific anchor text links, but I'll have to go back and listen again. I agree that links should be relevant to the topic of the article. In a way I think guest post links are very similar to paid links in that you are exchanging a link for something of value (writing services) so it seems like a loophole to the rule of no paid links.

It has been recommended that we remove the number of links in our footer, should we?
This was just mentioned in Rand's white board video, tip #3. The only thing is it conflicts with SEOmoz's linking, as they have about 20 links on the footer. Are they there because they are getting clicked on? I'm pretty sure nobody clicks on my footer links and am in the process of removing them and adding customized side navigations on specific pages to add a better navigational structure. To SEOmoz, why so many footer links on SEOmoz if it's a 2012 no, no? Note: Must be logged out to see footer links.

How do I set up a 301 redirect if the default settings for our web servers create multiple URLs for the same page?
So the server will only let us edit a single page no matter how many URL's it has.

Does This Really Annoy You
I would not worry too much that is just a .info spam website, what the do is they use content spinners to generate very low quality articles then they keep churning them out on their websites. It is all a ploy to gather more revenue from existing ad units. The thing is they probably do not even rank.

You are a genious if you answer this!
Hi James, I know that I can SEO it even if it as a domain hack because i have been doing so and have it ranking second. I don't have anywhere near that amount of backlinks but I am not trying to rank it on .com, it is showing second in local Ireland Google but I still think that it is strong enough for local search to pick up on the hack as one word. I guess the real question is, is there some code to be placed on the website or something to be done in webmasters, I don't think it can simply be about the amount of backlinks. Any thoughts on this will help. Thanks, Ronan

Odd duplicate page notification (I think)...
Thanks for the feedback. Any advice on how to correct the issue? It displays as /~BoardingSchoolNotes/ on the root level. Do I need to 301 the first URL above to the 2nd? Seems odd.

Two URLs with same content
I would prefer 301 before canonical. This is because you don't loose as much link juice/pagerank when using 301 as you are when using canonical. In this scenario, it's best to act like Matt Cutts says in the attached video. Take a look at the vid' and please don't hesitate to ask further questions to me watch?v=zW5UL3lzBOA

Has SEOMoz Domain Authority calc been updated recently
I saw that the Google Pagerank was updated (again!) yesterday, maybe it's a connection? I don't really know if the DA has a connection with PR but if it has - maybe that's the answer. Ryan, I'm pretty sure that juli 25th was the last time all data was updated (as you say). Therefore I think Dave's question is eligible.
