  • Can this work as a temporary thing? So if i put a canonical tag in then take it out, once taken out and the page is crawled Google will then value it as unique content? I just don't want to do anything which makes Google think its permanent.

  • SEO jobs can be posted in the marketplace. I would add your offer seems to be for a computer programmer (CS degree required and 5+ years of very specific knowledge required), not a SEO job.

  • When did you make changes to the title tag? The new title tag will appear in the SERP only when the page is re-indexed by Google.

  • At the end of each blog post/article remind your readers to follow you on twitter. This work wonders. Another cool way is to pay by tweets. If you provide a downloadable resource on your website, then make it available only after tweeting about it. Make sure that your twitter button recommends to follow you, if a visitors is not already following you. With the passage of time you will get many followers.

  • Root domain is shown by default. The effectiveness of your canonical strategy would be better figured out by testing through the search engines, as they implement such 'suggestions' a variety of ways.  Here's an article that might help explain why this question is hard to answer: http://www.seomoz.org/qa/view/44947/does-mozrank-follow-canonical-and-301-correctly I do think you're on the right track regarding the canonical strategy.  Now I recommend to do some research as to how Google is responding to this strategy.  When you search for your target terms, which version is showing in the results- www or root?

  • For Google News entry this strategy would simply not work. I also wonder if a single page would make you a subject authority. The bots may sense that you are trying to game them. with all those 301's.

  • Hi Gareth, Thanks for the Googlebot info. Still concerned with cloaking content but will look into it in more detail. Thanks again

  • Yeah I'd recommend consolidating the content onto one page, and 301 redirect the old pages to the new version. If there are clear differences between 2 or more sections of the content then it's not a problem to have those parts of content on separate pages as they're targeting different keywords. The less "thin" content, the better. Cheers Rob

  • Yeah MozRank to PageRank is a reasonable measure to use. MozRank should usually be about the same as PageRank, so if PageRank is a lot lower, you can infer that Google have applied an penalty to that site and reduced it's page rank. Because page rank isn't updated often, there are times when it's not always accurate, but usually it's a good indicator.

  • Try TripAdvisor (http://www.tripadvisor.com/WidgetEmbed). Their hotel widgets have been hugely successful (and evil!).

  • .com is such a broadly accepted TLD that I find it hard to believe anyone in the UK would question it's not a UK site. As long as the content looks UK focussed then you're fine. If you slap an American flag in the corner then that might cause a problem Think of all the huge UK brands that have .com sites... moneysupermarket.com, moonpig.com, etc, etc. It's just as normal to have a .com in the UK as it is to have a .co.uk

  • Another reason for absolute would be that it prevents 404 errors if you forget to edit the rel links when you move pages around, add folders etc. One less thing to worry about.

  • Hi Atul. Shelly offers a great response and gets a thumbs up from me. A few points of feedback to add in addition: the site is currently duplicated. It is available in both the www and non-www URL format. This major issue needs to be addressed The site is social with facebook. Add google+ and twitter as well. Social sharing can be added to each and every "product" which in this case is the papers. For the home page, I dislike seeing index.php. It is not helpful to users nor search engines. Which URL looks nicer to you? http://allkindofessays.com/index.php or http://allkindofessays.com/ The GoDaddy SSL certificate is fine, but the "SSL Certificates" text underneath it is totally unnecessary and I would remove it. On your home page the sidebar has "Subjects" and the exact same links and subjects are shared in the main page area. I would suggest one or the other but not both. Shelly mentions a XML sitemap but I would recommend an HTML sitemap for users, not XML. The XML sitemap is great for search engines, not users. Good luck.

  • Hi Matthew. I think you have the right idea and thought process. Interlinking pages is very user friendly and a solid SEO strategy. Links in content offer more value then links in navigation or footers both to users and SEO. This strategy also provides link to many pages in your site which otherwise are not part of your navigation. The greatest part is the links are offered based on popularity. Links in navigation and footers are always there. Even if not a single visitor comes to your site, those links are always there on every page. Proper internal linking as used on wikipedia only appears when a topic is discussed. The more it is discussed, the more links and vice versa. This strategy allows much better management of your site's precious link juice. Does it all depends on Page Authority? How frequently and deeply your site is crawled always depends upon your PA/DA. With that said, your links in content will be given the highest priority and that's another great part of proper internal linking. As long as you keep things helpful to users and reasonable, I would not have any concerns. Review your navigation/sidebar/footer links to ensure they are all necessary. If so, I would continue with your plan. I hate to throw out a number because there are many factors to consider, but I would not recommend going too much about 140 links unless your PA/DA was strong. Can i go inter-link crazy on 1 year old legitimate site? Site age is not a factor. 1 day or 15 years old you would use the same linking strategies. I hate to endorse anything with the term "crazy" in it. I would say you can use interlinking in a similar manner to wikipedia. If that's what you call crazy, so be it.

  • Hi, with this parameter, google don't check all these pages, because google think that are duplicate pages (and it's correct). I think is better to use the meta's. This way you have the control. Bye.
