Updating Youtube Videos: Does this Reset Your Views to 0?
Hi there, When you say update what exactly do you mean? Looking at Google's documentation it seems you can edit parts of a current video if you are: Making a few enhancements with the YouTube Video Enhancements software Adding cards to videos Changing title and meta data If you re-upload a video I believe it will live on a new URL and the view counter will reset... Anyone else have any other insights here?

301 and the base URL
Thanks Kevin, I'll definitely have a look at those guides. Yeah, it's the exact same page - the main gateway to the site. It's just that once we started looking at the SEO side of things we realised that we should have keywords in the URL on that page too, and having had the site crawled I realised the original doesn't have all the meta data the redirect does. For example right now the original has no keywords, where as the redirect does.

Moz/Google does not recognize text on Wix website
Sorry, I must not have been clear. The site/page has words - one of the first paragraphs has 92 words and 472 characters without spaces, so that isn't the issue. The issue is that Moz/Google cannot see the text - they think the page has no words on it.

Better to place linked-back article or post article and seek multiple links?
Thanks, Ed. I see your point, but I haven't seen a lot of viral activity when I've guest authored on good sites in the past. So maybe I'll self-publish and try to promote links. If I don't get any links I can always take the article down and submit it. Any additional thoughts?

Titles tags: Smart to split brand name composed of multiple keywords?
I'm inclined to stick with branding so all one word. However, what would affect this decision is search data. Go into search console or connect search console to analytics. Look in the search terms panel. Are people typing it as one word or separate words. Often it's best to display what people expect to see. That improves CTR

Different content on pages with the same URL--except one is at www and the other at www2
Hello Ivey, To clarify: Why do they have exact same URL? The problem here could be if both pages compete on the same search terms. Keywords in the URL are pretty important, so it could be great to change one. Recently there has been a case where a great piece of article was not indexed because it has a nearly exact title. Take a look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oSK9Njplcs Hope it helps. Best luck. GR

Which Is More Important? Building a web page for customer reviews or a careers page?
Yes have both. You need to have a page for EVERYTHING you do if you are a services business like a plumbers. I want to see all your employees smiling and looking like they aren't going to rip me off, I want their qualifications and how you are a great plumber and have been in business many years and I'd like to see every type of project that you do or a portfolio so I can see if you're the sort of plumber with one little van who comes and unblocks my drain or whether you can plumb in my £20,000 under-floor heating system. I also need prices for everything and how you charge for things. Not just a 'oh we'll see when we get there' I want itemised and listed prices for jobs and then price tags on your portfolio jobs so I can compare them to mine. I am actually looking for a plumber at the moment and their websites are dreadful. No qualifications, no experience, no pictures of the team, no idea how big or how long the business has been operating and no trust factors. The social proof (reviews) shouldn't necessarily be confined to one page. Spread them out throughout your other content. Where you make a claim (we have the cheapest boiler systems) have a review where a customer has said, "and they're great value too" so I trust you're not just making it up. Because people don't trust tradesmen - thee are huge trust issues - because in the past (and still now to an extent) plumbers will try to charge what they think you can afford or add charges on for remeasures and extra things 'we've found in the system'. You need to say that you can assess a system and thet sometimes the price will be more if there are unforeseen things. But come on let's fact it how many unforeseen things can there be. I give prices for everything and I'm a dentist - the human body is more unpredictable than a heating system. So you need to bust this myth wide open with open and honest prices. Don't just say 'we're open and honest' prove it with reviews that say these things about you. And with prices attached to your jobs that you've done or broad, ballpark prices on your website for the type of work that you do. Team and recruitment pages are also trust factors because they show that you are a growing business. So have each team member and maybe a review where they've been mentioned by name as being especially friendly or efficient. Then you'll be ahead of 99% of the other plumbers on the planet. Just like i'm ahead of 99% of the other dentists by using the same strategy of openness in a field where people are expecting pain and a big bill at the end of it. Just like you.

"We" or "I" for a small local healthcare enterprise?
It's my pleasure! It sounds like you are asking some really good questions of yourself, and being observant! That's definitely a great start. I'd say a podiatrist has some pretty excellent leeway in presentation, particularly if you are serving a great many athletes who want to meet health goals. I'd suggest coming up with some personae for your main customer "types" to get a sense of where that might take your content. And good for you for blogging! If it turns out that most of your colleagues are being somewhat stuffy in their presentation of foot health management, you, with your pleasant personality, might have a chance to set your brand apart by presenting your practice as one where you are personally ready to help patients meet their physical fitness goals, with happy feet instead of tired dogs.

Single Local Result on Google... Wut up with that?
Hi WP-Pro! So, there has been a ton of buzz in the past week or so about zero-results SERPs (see an excellent article about this by Dr. Pete here on the Moz Blog: https://moz.com/blog/zero-result-serps Google ran a test of the above that they have since shut down. However, I don't believe this is what you've noticed. I think you are talking about what might be called a "Branded Knowledge Panel", in that a term Google used to show a typical 3-pack for is now being dominated by a single business, with their knowledge panel showing up on the right side of the SERPs and no competitors in sight. This is a huge pain in the neck when Google does this, as it leaves all other local businesses out in the cold. Basically, what has happened when you see this is that "something" has caused Google to believe that a single business is THE authoritative result for a search. This is fine when someone is searching for Taco Bell, but really annoying when someone is searching for "tacos". If an authoritative knowledge panel is negatively impacting a SERP for which you were previously competing, leaving your business out in the cold, you need to take a very close look at that competitor to see if you can figure out why Google is giving them this preferential treatment. I recommend doing a competitive local business audit to highlight areas where that competitor is strong and you are weak. And look at their use of features like Google Posts, Google Q&A, etc. to see if there is some way they've gotten ahead. Study their keyword optimization on their website. And, of course, take a close look to see if some kind of spammy behavior on their part may have gotten them this preferential treatment. There isn't a direct action you can take to force Google to show a 3-pack instead of an authoritative knowledge panel, but the general idea is that you've got to become stronger than your competitor so that Google realizes that there is more than one quality answer available to that particular search query. Unfortunately, you may have a long haul ahead.

Dealing with broken internal links/404s. What's best practice?
Thank you, you answered all of my questions and some more I didn't ask...but should have! The notable alumni page is a great idea, and not one I'd thought of. It's going to be a lengthy process, but I'm no happy that I know I'm doing the right things. Thank you again!

Indexing Issue of Dynamic Pages
Thanks Steve. I agree that the site: query is not working in an appropriate manner. But I have noticed that the pages indexed by google are showing up in SERP with site: query . I have checked new GSC and found that few pages are not indexed for my website, when I searched these pages in Google using "info:" query, it appears. It concluded that the pages which are not indexed by Google will not appear for "site:" query but can appear for "info:" query. site: Indexed by Google info: Known by Google Moreover, making root file available to bot makes structure search friendly but what if we don't make this file available to bot? Will my other dynamic pages get affected which are generated through this file? Please advice. Thanks

How to increase my website root domains?
Hi Malik, if you have a Pro account try the beta of "Link Explorer" the replacement for Open Site Explorer. This promises to update your links much faster; in fact it updates each day! Also this allows you to add and track future back link URLs to see when they are discovered to be linked by Moz. If you're not a Pro account holder, hopefully this tool will be available to all soon

I'm only seeing 3 results for DA/PA, is this a limitation?
I was using seostats from github that used the mozscape api and made calls like this. the query was for seo so all the domains would have results . starting to think it might be an issue on seostats end. id loop over the results from google from that keyword then display the da/pa in the screenshot I blocked out the domains, but I attached a new screenshot, now If I only check 3 domains it works fine, anything over that says n.a use \SEOstats\Services\Google as Google; use \SEOstats\Services\Mozscape as Mozscape; $getKeyword = $_POST['keyword']; $serps = Google::getSerps($getKeyword, 3); foreach ($serps as $serp) { $serp = $serp['url']; $pageAuthority = Mozscape::getPageAuthority($serp); $domainAuthority = Mozscape::getDomainAuthority($serp); $backlinks = Google::getBacklinksTotal($serp); echo " "; echo "" . $serp. " "; echo "Page Authority: " . round($pageAuthority) . " "; echo "Domain Authority: " . round($domainAuthority) . ""; echo " "; } ?> 11rw3f7.png
