Scraping Website and Using Our Clients Info
Consult an attorney to get up-to-speed on copyright, infringement, and fair-use. Filing DMCAs or taking other actions that exceed your rights or infringe on the fair-use of others can result in a lawsuit against YOU. Infringement by an upstanding company is usually done by an employee, a content writer, or an SEO who is ignorant about copyright law. Rarely they can be guilty of willful infringement, which can result in both civil and criminal actions. If upstanding people or organizations are infringing, you can send informal infringement complaints yourself or have them sent by an attorney. It is often better to notify them of the infringement and get it stopped before it increases. The quickest way to deal with spammy infringers is the DMCA to Google that SEAN suggests. You can also send DMCA to their host. If they are monitized by adsense you can complain to Adsense and they might turn off the ads on infringing pages or turn off the ads to the entire site. I am not an attorney, but have used them frequently. They usually cost less than you fear and are usually worth more than you pay them.

Leveraging the authority of a blog to boost pages on a root domain.
Wishing you luck, Ben, and totally see how scaling can be difficult, particularly if some of the managers are a bit tech-wary. Little by little, more companies are becoming aware of the need for local expertise that can be translated into marketing outreach. If you can get this business on track with that, you'll be doing them a big favor.

City and state link stuffing in footer
Thanks for your response, Will. It's small business (maybe 10 or 12 employees) at a single location. While they don't really impact me directly, it's particularly bothersome because they are in the advertising and marketing business. We tell clients not to do these things, but all around there are agencies that succeed using these tactics.

Changed Domains and Internal Links haven't followed, Old Domain redirects to new domain
So why a site that has just been renamed domain wise (Residentiallandlord.co.uk to Residentiallandlord.com) the site content is the same content except for updates. Just confused why the old domain is still carrying stats as in was redirected over two years ago.

Cloudflare shared SSL certificate vs Letsencrypt
I have CloudFlare on about the same number of domains. You can put a separate SSL cert with a 15 year lease on each one if you have access to Apache, you just have to link it in your sites-available configuration files for each site. Sharing 1 SSL certificate among a bunch of sites will not hurt your SEO, just not as secure, but realistically it doesn't matter lol 1 will suffice.

Can affiliate links benefit or hurt my seo?
I did a bit of Affiliate marketing for Crakrevenue a few months back White, and one thing I advise that affiliates aren't going to tell you proactively is to add rel="nofollow" on your affiliate link. My adult affiliate site was very easy to drive substantial traffic hitting the right hot spots, and I ranked it pretty quick. In short order, many of the affiliates I was advertising for had less authority than me. So to avoid passing all that hard work to get authority to someone who was merely paying me for traffic, adding the nofollow tag was a quick fix. You definitely WILL NOT get a benefit in SEO from an affiliate, that would just be to easy!

Gradual Increase in Domain Authority After Domain Migration But No Improvement in Organic Traffic Yet
Have your keyword rankings changed? As Sean pointed out, it appears that at least some of them currently look decent. If your rankings are where they were before but your traffic has decreased, are you sure that traffic that you lost wasn't bot traffic?

I am concerned about the links pointing to my site. There have been an additional 273 dodgy links added in the last 2 months for unknown reasons skewing the linking domains by DA to mostly 1-10\. Could this be a negative SEO campaign?
it is certainly possible depending on the content of the website. I have issues with an individual producing links from very disreputable sources. Essentially if the contents one these: Link to Fireams Link to Gambling Link to a page linked to your site that is a clone as to cause the content duplication issues Adult XXX content It's a very likely possibility. especially with a questionable suffix like a tk or nl for example. I wouldn't worry about it, Google seems rather savvy in not including garbage like that in your overall score. Just make certain you don't link back to the content obviously. There is always the option to submit a disavow txt file if you think it is impacting your rank, but I doubt you have to worry.

Hi. One of our competitors is ranking ahead of us on Google. Our site has a much stronger authority and much more quality links than this competitor. Would anyone have any explanations for this? Thanks
Hi Barry, further to your note about volume, whilst it is good to be adding new content, short or long is not necessarily best. I would rather focus on genuine quality and answering a users intent over adding lots of content that may not serve or fulfil a users needs. Have you performed an audit on your competitors site, are they answering topics or user queries better? And what content are you serving? Are you in a niche market?

Why to add a product id in the url
Hi kh-priyam Many people use a product ID in the link because many CMS automatically create this ID in the url, and if you don't install a plugin for friendly urls, this ID will be there. There is no advantage for ranking better with product or categories ID. In my opinion it doesn't matter if you have an ID if the rest of the url is friendly, but some people think that urls without ID are better, so I recommend you to don't have a product ID in your urls. Greetings

Hello! For product URLs I would go with the "flat" structure and just do shop.com/product-name (Option 2)

Thinking about redesigning site to reduce bounce rate - have a couple of questions
Hi sl_pa, I don't know how Alexa calculates its bounce rate data, but I have found this: https://www.quora.com/How-does-Alexa-define-bounce-rate Maybe that helps. In any case, you can't trust much this stats from Alexa, but as you said, it can give a general figure. The perfect tool to see bounce rate is Analytics, but you can't see your competitors stats with this tool... Greetings!
