Like what Federico said it takes time for these pages to get found and indexed. Moz's isn't able to index the web at the level that Google is able to. So just because it's not showing up in Moz yet doesn't mean that Google hasn't found and indexed it yet. Other ways that you can monitor inbound links: Set up alerts with Google Alerts & TalkWalker.com Check referrals in Google Analytics, new referrals sources could be from other sites linking to you. Other backlink checkers that you could check, besides OSE, ahrefs & majestic seo Hope this answers your question.

That's a good point Federico, I didn't think to ask if they only wanted to nofollow external links.

Digging a little and it looks like a totally fake site by some hack SEO. Any time you see a link in a suspicious site's footer that says "SEO xxxxxx xxxx" (in this case "SEO Company Perth" that's a massive red flag. To the left of that link is a link "LEF" - that points to a Link Exchange site. How obvious is it then that this is a bogus site? Other clues: No other navigation links of any value that communicate "this is a legitimate web site". The "Remarkable US Presidents main navigation link has links in it that just point to another hack site "MTI-USA.com" and THAT site, even though it's got "USA" in the domain, links to a Perth "digital agency"... Bottom line, it's a mess. And the lesson here is don't get caught up examining competitor links assuming you see something that could be helping them unless you know what you are doing. All it will result in is your site being slapped with penalties.

Hey Antony! Thanks for writing in. As of now, we aren't sure. I know we've had issues getting non-US data providers to open up and let us look at listings, so it has been a challenge. Yes bad for both.  You now have the name of a file acting as the name of a folder. As mentioned above - kill the use of index.php as your index "file" - just end in a slash. I know php treats these as routes/queries that then produce a page, but it can get things all messed up real quick.

Hi Arjen, 408 errors are timeout type errors so the first thing that comes to mind is what kind of web server you are on. If it is shared then there might have been a surge in traffic to your site or another site on the same host and this slowed down requests enough that the moz crawler got these results returned. You could try running a scan with screaming frog which will scan the site in a similar way to the moz crawler (ie multiple requests at the same time) and if you see the errors there also then this can confirm that the issue is likely with your server setup and not a moz bug.

Howdy, So this is a Top Pages report that you ran on your own site in Open Site Explorer? What this report shows is the top pages as determined by the link authority features of your incoming links. It is actually not based on a crawl of your site. So here's what can, and often does happen: External websites link to pages on your site that don't actually exist. A brief glance suggests this is what happened here. Those links look like auto-generated spam to me, and likely were made by a wayward robot. The good news is that because your server is returning a 403 response code (Forbidden) those pages on your site don't really exist, and the effect of those links is basically null. If you returned a 404 (which would be more common) the effect would be the same. So why does OSE report on Top Pages if they don't actually exist? The real value is when you find links coming into broken or misdirected pages (think 404, 302, etc) and you can then fix those pages to take advantage of the link juice. Hope this helps. If you like, you can dig around OSE to try and find where those links originated, but it likely doesn't make a big difference either way.

Thanks for confirming that Paul ! Ive also noticed that when using services like Buffer etc, to post socially, that the articles image is not being displayed as an option in the images to choose from, to display as the image in the post, Instead its only showing options like the site logo etc which we don't want.  I asked Buffer tech support and they said that if the images had height/width attributes then they should then be presented as image options to accompany the post All Best Dan

There are standards for the sitemaps .txt and .xml sitemaps, where there are no standards for html varieties.  Neither guarantees the listed pages will be crawled, though.  HTML has some advantage of potentially passing pagerank, where .txt and .xml varieties don't. These days, xml sitemaps may be more common  than .txt sitemaps but both perform the same function.

You are right keywords and content coverage helps for ranking in Google SEO. I did experienced with my keyword of Life Coach and its work.
