Can I only submit a reconsideration request if I have a penalty?
You CAN submit a reconsideration if you want to, but in the case of purely algorithmic non-manual penalties you will just get a response that says, "there are no manual penalties on your site right now" and no change to your rankings. My opinion is that it's pointless unless you have a manual penalty OR honestly think your site has been unfairly impacted or attacked.

Freshwebexplorer.moz.com - How it work ?
Is it possible to have alerts sent to more than one email address? For example, I have a couple of campaigns, but a colleague is managing another campaign. I know that multiple log-ins is a much-requested feature (and should be coming this Fall, correct?), but I wasn't sure if one depended on the other for having those Fresh Web Explorer alerts to to the appropriate manager, instead of the email on the account log-in. Thanks for the help!

Bad performance for low competition term
Hey There As other have mentioned, I would also echo that "low competition" is a little relative depending on the query. For just "anglian windows" this is a brand search and will be really tough to rank there moving forward. Even if you do, I am not sure it would get tons of clicks, because this is likely more often then not a navigational search where the user knows they want the brand homepage. For "anglian windows reviews" - maybe I'm missing this, but does your page have reviews on it? As in a collection of 3rd party authentic non-biased reviews? Unless it has something like that - or at least genuine internal reviews written by your site, it's also going to have a hard time ranking there since the query intent / content match is a little off. -Dan

An Unfair Content related penalty :(
Hey Jarrod, I'm afraid there isn't anything you can actually do to tell Google you are the original author of your content, other than the tips Remus mentioned. However, there is a service that you can use to help you identify sites that are duplicating your content. It's called Copysentry and it automatically scans the web to check for content duplication. You could use this, in conjunction with DMCA take down requests (as mentioned in Remus's post) to help to defend against this in future.

Managing Subsidiaries. Should I house them all in a single domain? What about a single social media presence?
Alan, I agree with you and Ash. Providing we are willing to commit the proper resources to support separate efforts like this, I think that the ccTLD is the way to go. -Alex

Is it worth redirecting an old domain name which was hacked to my new website?
Thanks mate. I suppose given my new site hasn't even been indexed as yet I was more thinking how much penalty there could be... I thought maybe I could redirect and then somehow let google know that the malware isn't present on the domain any more is all. I'll leave it alone as it doesn't sound like its worth the risk.

Social Media Integration plugin switch
Thank you Christopher and Vadim. This is what I was hoping to hear. I like the idea that I'm not stuck with what I've got and am free to switch it up, but it was too risky to just play around with. I'm looking forward to checking out sharedcount. I think it's pretty interesting that I couldn't find this information anywhere. Maybe I was approaching the search wrong. Thanks again!

Why are my backlinks decreasing slowly from week to week?
Hi Seth, How exactly are you determining your backlinks are decreasing? If you are using crawl reports from Moz, Google or other sources, understand most crawlers dump their data and perform fresh crawls of the web periodically. Often adjustments are made to the crawling algorithms, or other links on the internet change, which may impact the visibility of some backlinks. You can use various tools such as Raven's Link Manager to track links. Simply add your current backlinks to the tool and you will receive an update if any link is removed. Have you actually checked the links which have been removed? Or are you simply viewing reports and seeing numbers decrease? The only way to really know what is happening is to track each link. You can then understand if the link was really removed, or if it is an issue with the crawl report.

Migrating Domain Penalization
** using 20-30 unique informative words per product, would you consider this substantive, informative and of great interest to visitor?** In my opinion, 20 to 30 words is insignificant. I try to have a few hundreds words for a product description.

Http to https conversion - what were your experiences?
Hello, I've done this. It had absolutely no impact on our listings. I did exactly what you are suggesting to do. I'm not saying it'll have no impact for YOU because I don't know that, but it didn't impact me so is likely not to impact you too. If that makes sense!!! All the best, Amelia

Does Ezine articles still make any good?
Hi Felip, Posting on ezine and other article directories are tactics from few years ago and shouldn't be using because Search Engines see that as duplicate content on the web and if the those directories have higher authority than your site, it doesn't benefit you at all in SEO stands. I'm pretty sure most people recommend not to use it anymore. However, talking about any good for these sort of directories. Yes, i believe they are still a bit useful. For example, if your website is not getting any traffic and you have no luck in building up the traffic via Social or Search, posting on article directories with thousands of visits, it helps your article get more impression. That is the only good I can think of for using article directories now a days.
