  • Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it. If I were strictly trying to understand how Google, for example, sees my IP address, do they see it as a Canadian IP address even though it "Resolves" to Dallas, TX?

  • I guess the issue here is really to what extent my pages are considered a subset of another. The way my page is coded, controlled via the cms, the subset page could have a lot more content specific to the brand for that page. IE: Different meta, banners, brand information So, yes, the actual products themselves are a simple subset, but the surrounding content may be quite unique to that brand. Therefore should I still use canonical, not sure.... thoughts???

  • Thank you so much Paul for looking into this! You made my day much brighter! Are you sure that also having page 2 like this is alright, I really do not understand why is it there:-( <link rel="<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank">next</a>" href="<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://villasdiani.com/page/2/</a>" /> I do not see this kind of page on other sites.

  • hmmm $1000 / 8 hrs = $125 per hr Should have taken 30 mins tops and that's really too much time. So thats $62.50, and if they must charge you an hour minimum its $125 MAX At those rates they are claiming Almost 3 hrs work.

  • Thanks for your comments Cyrus !! I think (but may well be wrong) that they used to have a 1000 follower critieria before verification considered, so hope they don't raise the bar regarding qualifying critieria based on follower numbers Also seems a tad unfair if follower numbers do contribute to qualifying criteria since pages in some countries (such as the USA) will have advantage over smaller country pages (UK etc) due to smaller local market size All Best Dan

  • jessential Yes you can update the in the home destination. If you are "Tracking" the results you will need to STOP the report. Re-check that the keyword used to test the page is correct, and then ensure that the URL for the page being checked is also correct. I have missed the prefix "Http" vs "https" and that of course will return an F grade as well. So once everything is correctly set, then you may want to restart the tracking/reporting option.

  • Just to add to Alan's answer,  and this is from pure experience: You'll likely see a "down" period. Expect organic traffic to drop for a few weeks and hopefully get back to previous level or better. If you rely on organic, up your spend on PPC during this period Do not redirect internal pages to the root. domainA.com/page should redirect to another inner page. Don't start redirecting groups of pages to the new root. Like Alan said, pages without external links are not worth redirecting. Make sure you get  all of your links from OSE, Majestic, Ahrefs and WMT to get a decent picture. Ensure you're redirecting to similar content too! Change the site address in WMT, verify new site in WMT - watch this like a hawk, especially crawl errors. Once the new site is up, submit your XML sitemaps to WMT. Triple check your robots.txt, and other robots directives - I've see too many sites go up with NOINDEX and full robots.txt blocks. Fetch pages in WMT to ensure you're getting 200 response codes on your most important / new pages Recrawl all your old pages (that you've redirected) to ensure they return a 301 > 200. No chains, just 1 301. There's probably more, but those are the essentials.

  • Thanks for your reply. I have one more doubt. If I am going to get links from say 10-20 links from paid web directories/ business listing sites which is of high PR (pr 5 and above) and quality sites, will it affect my website ranking? eg: http://www.rddesignlondon.co.uk/best-paid-directories-for-seo/ http://www.seotechnocrat.com/directory-submission-sites/ http://tradeport.org/tradeblog/?p=22

  • Thank you very much for the responses, much appreciated. That's what's confusing me. I haven't built any links in 1-2 years for that domain. All I do is post on the blog, Facebook, Twiiter and G+. I've sent some removal requests to the more obvious ones with names like seodirectory etc. Should I wait or would you just send a disavow to Google now? Best Regards, Stephen

  • Hi David! Correct - if you wish to see traffic data, you will need to connect GA to each of your Moz Analytics campaigns. If you do not have a GA account for each campaign, then you still be able to see other data and metrics about your campaign, for example links data, mentions, crawl data, and any social accounts you have connected. If you have connected a GA account to your campaign and you are not seeing data appear, that might be a different issue. I would recommend disconnecting GA from the affected campaigns and then re-connecting.  If this doesn't work then let our help team know and we can help you debug. Thanks! Jon

  • Remus said it well, they are obvious thin content pages, almost identical, Search engines don't want to list every variation of a simular page. You need to add more unique content to each page. But when I visit, using IE 11 on Windows 8.1, I get a big warning about cookies. This can't be good for conversion. do you really need this warming?

  • I think you would be fine doing it all at once. The gradual roll-out thing Matt Cutts was referring to had to do with adding pages, not removing them. You could also use the URL removal tool to get them taken out of the index faster once you have added the noindex, follow tag. You can remove an entire directory that way in one fell swoop as long as you don't need any other pages in that directory to be indexed either. This is a smart move for a lot of eCommerce sites that like to drop ship products and use manufacturer or distributor-supplied product descriptions at a level that is not scaleable for rewriting on their own. In such cases I optimize the best performing products, get the rest out of the index, and rely heavily on category pages for bringing in search traffic. It isn't the best situation, but it's better than keeping a Panda penalty.
