Google Penalty Tools?
Hey Elchanan, http://www.barracuda-digital.co.uk/panguintool/ offers a very similar tool which overlays Google updates over your organic traffic. Gives a nice insight on how any updates may have affected your site.

Do Internal Link Anchor Text Count Towards Overall Ratio?
Internal anchor text would most likely not dilute your anchor text profile for good or bad. I believe a Google employee did confirm internal anchor text would not be penalized by Penguin...external sources pointing to your site with anchor text could though. So that paints a picture for you.

Google Disavow Tool
I agree that doing all you can to find contact details is the best way to go. Another way to find people is via social media accounts.

Phone Number In Meta Description
Also want to comment on 800 number vs local number. Generally for a local small business, a local phone number is preferred. And yes, we use it in the meta description, because it works!

De-indexing product "quick view" pages
Just to add, if you block URLs in robots.txt they wont actually get deindexed. They will be for all intents and purposes be blocked (wont cause duplicate content issues etc) but they will drop into the omitted results: _In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 13 already displayed._If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included. And will look like this in the SERPS (see attachment). If you want them removed from the SERPs you will need to use the robots NOINDEX meta tag, or use GWMT as William advised. The disallow entry you posted will block these pages, as long as they all start with that way. Although you don't actually need the trailing wild card as that gets ignored, you can just leave it open. Google robots.txt specs QqCCH1J.png

Google authorship advanced search operators
Apart the answers given by Mike and William, if you know the author, why aren't checking directly the blogger Google+ About Page. There you can find the blog the blogger is contributing to (current and past contributor). Saying this because just the sites listed there will be the ones obtaining the authorship (if the rel="author" has been correctly implemented on the web).

Should I add social media icons to homepage of ecommerce site?
Some of the social media icons can slow the page load down which is a conversion rate optimisation no no. So it is best to put at the bottom in my experience, so that it doen't hold up above the fold content loading. This is particuarly true as, unless you have uber cool content, don't expect too many interactions. I would certainly include google+ though as you may get some SEO benefit.

Does Google use 302's to pass value to the target page?
Hi Nathan No, that is not correct. Only 301 redirects will pass value and they don't guarantee to pass all of the value. As 302 redirects nothing is passed. There is information here on redirects: http://moz.com/learn/seo/redirection I hope that helps, Peter

PPC seems to have had a seriously negative impact on organic rankings?!?
Here's the thing, you have 2 referring domains pointing to this page and one of them is pointing to it 298 times using the anchor text "penetration hosting" *(which I'm assuming is the keyword you are being penalized for.) That's no good. BUT totally recoverable. If those links are internal, there are several things that can be done but the domains should be more important. Build some content, gain some natural links and make sure the anchor text is varied. This should happen on it's own if these links are built organically. Build organic to gain organic.

How long does google index old urls?
Hi Peter, Thanks for your reply. The site in question does not have a high domain or page authority but I hear what your saying. I wouldn't of thought we would be able to keep the second set of old pages live as the domain name is not changing!? Thanks Rob
