Google is very good at devaluing links nowadays so I wouldn't worry too much. If a company wants to conduct negative SEO against your website then they can't be a serious competitor because nobody in their right mind would waste time and money trying to get a competitors' website hit. As Doug said, concentrate on creating some great content around your business/niche and then look at your outreach.

Hi Papp I think "best" is somewhat objective - first of all - are you looking for tools for keyword discovery or more like metric gathering or more like management & analysis. Those are all somewhat different things and some tools are better then others. In my opinion there's no one tool that can do all the valuable discovery for you. So I end up using combinations of; KW Planner Google Trends Google Correlate Mergewords Analytics and Webmaster Tools SEM Rush Ubersuggest I detail a bunch of methods here: http://www.slideshare.net/evolvingseo/unusual-uses-of-17-free-tools-for-keyword-discovery Then there's the metric gathering and management - which to me is a whole other ballgame than just research. I've done a little more research on this I was intrigued... My site uses a custom blog, not a public platform, if you visit it (the blog area) it looks alike wordpress but it isn't. We also use NetDNA to serve images, which is the parent company of maxcdn. My image search in Google returns to my posts, not the images (but there are 2 differences with your site: custom URLs on NetDNA (also possible with maxcdn) and not a Wordpress site). Then I checked for a small blog I write about SEO, works with wordpress but without NetDNA (CloudFlare instead as the CDN) and the images in google search also link to my posts. So that leaves with only one option, custom domains. You are serving images using a third party domain, which can be seen as a hotlink by Google and therefore they may link to the domain hosting the image, as it is probably the image owner. This are just guesses, but it looks like a nice/possible theory. Why don't you start using custom domains with maxcdn and see what happens?

Hi Peter, The generated html sitemap is generated once a day. So most of the time it is up to date. Even though it does generate some 404's when products from the webshop are removed earlier in the day. I will advice the webmaster to look for an XML sitemap generator for magento. Ok in this case our plan of action is to start with S3 and build a culture of protecting the content, atleast for a regular folk.  After a while if analytics and tracking is of importance we will convert the necessary videos to Wistia.  At least thats the plan so far. Thanks for the input Phil. I'm still open to other experiences with video anti-piracy for membership sites. Thanks community!

I don't think there is a hard and fast rule on that Bob.  So many things are involved--value of the page, value of the domain, follow/nofollow, velocity, the value of the non-guest post links, domain diversity, the future quality of those guest blog sites.  I'd hazard a guess that you're safe with 3/10 but I have nothing to go on for that number.  The thing is, as with all link building, if you put too much emphasis on any one kind of link, you risk of getting burned in some fashion down the road goes up substantially.

Thanks Chris. This makes sense, I do have a combination of both, content relevancy to attract search traffic, and highly informative traffic that should be shared for homeowners knowledge. I now know which to unload now at once and which to release over time.

Few things. Reason why your title is below meta description? Seems awkward. Put keyword into H1 preferably. Put more content onto homepage if that is the page you are trying to rank. I aim for 800+ words. Your link profile foundation is really good. You have a very easy site to work with and can see some pretty good rankings. Main issue is you lack links with the anchor text you are trying to rank. Thats an easy fix for the most part. 51 DA? Wish my clients would have similar clean sites to work with. Would make my life sooooo much easier. Your content looks like its farmed. Grabbing it from a content farm? Try to create higher quality content and send social signals to it. Also, its best to put blogs + excerpt + date stamp on homepage. Lastly, you are getting 70/100 in terms of desktop page speed. Have to optimize images, minify JS/css/html. and move JS to footer. I assume your site is hosted in the US? Response time is a little slow so you might consider using a CDN. I see that you are located in SD, I am in LA. If you want to chat, PM me.
