Removing Low Rank Pages Help Others Shine?
If they have no traffic and no links, I would not move them. I would only re-purpose them if you think that by combining/editing them they would have value, but in a situation like this, that usually isn't the case. (Unless we are talking about a significantly large percentage of your website becoming 404--in that case some rewriting/repurposing would be in order.)

Redirect without losing SEO value?
Justian....if it "looks like" keyword stuffing to you then it is! Google will see it that way too, eh! Bad practices, I'd say....

Google images not showing on SERP
Good Morning! First off, I would need to know a bit more information before throwing out an exact answer, but from my experience, anytime I'm optimizing a new word/image/video I usually notice it fall in and out of rank on an almost weekly basis. The general trend appears to be upward, but it takes a little bit before the rankings become solid. As far as other aspects, is the original site that hosts the photo still up? How long ago were the photos put up? Are all the tags correct/optimized to the persons name? Being in Canada may or may not have an impact, although I highly doubt it, unless this person is a local legend. Google is putting a heavy push on local searches so if you are in mexico looking up a Canadian local municipal legend then I might think yes. Anyway, hope that helps a little!

I broke Google! (random snippet appearing in non-personalized search)
I would suggest moving your h2 tag to something else. The engines pull what they feel is the most relevant item from your page. Your h2 tag is "Awesome, you're signed up" so the engines think this is the second most relevant item on the page. http://www.onradpad.com/ask-radpad/can-i-pay-rent-with-a-credit-card/ - This is the page that surfaces with weird language when you search "pay with radpad". This is because of the text on the page that is linked elsewhere. If you look in the second paragraph, the phrase is underlined and taller than the other text, telling the search engine it is more relevant. It is a link to your payment page, which is why there is weird text attached to it in the SERP. Since the engines pull the information they feel is most relevant to exactly what it typed in by the searcher, you kind of have to make sure that the h tags and text on the page are targeting exactly what you think will be searched. I would move the h2 tag and make the text on your link look the same as the text on the page, it should help you get your meta description showing instead of content. You can also add the key terms here to your meta description. That will also help avoid content out ranking the description.

Lots of dublicate titles and pages on search page
Yes, in an addition to the canonical tag you will need to setup the redirects. But am not sure how you would do that on microsoft server.

HTTPS/SSL and Backlinks
Thanks for the response. I used MOZ open site explorer and Majestic and it showed the domain 10+ and page 25+ with backlinks. In Majestic, it showed the current backlinks, TF and CF which is why I got it. I'm wondering if adding SSL then redirecting to the new domain address will the link juice carry over?

What is the influence in rankings of a post date?
The algorithm will use freshness based on the urgency/nature of the keywords. For something like that keyword, I dont see it being a problem at all. If it's a really important page, just move it to a page (im assuming you use WP) -then improve it and use the same url structure.

Duplicate Forum Content
How delightful that you refer to Invisionpower as I recently took the software for a test drive and plan to purchase it in January A question though that has been troubling me. I use a paid for hosting service, which forwards to one of my sub-domains. The problem is I have nearly 7k pages of duplicate content (all from the forum), I really want to add a no follow and then remove the forum pages from the search index and thus remove all of the duplicate content. Though I'm worried that adding no follow to the sub domain may impact on the main site. I have a lot of page one search positions, many long tails which combined result in a lot of visits, but I also have a couple of short phrases that get 50% of the visits alone, so I can't risk making any changes, actually I'm pretty terrified to make any changes, just in case all of my website pages are removed from the index.

Consensus on disavowing low-quality auto-generated links (e.g. webstatsdomain.org etc) ?
I ignore those junk links. I figure that Google is pretty clear that disavow tool is only for extreme cases. ["In most cases, Google can assess which links to trust without additional guidance, so most normal or typical sites will not need to use this tool."] That being said, I do notice that many people talk about routinely disavowing low-quality links even when there is no penalty in play. It seems to me that that in itself could create an unnatural link profile—after all, if you just let your link growth happen naturally, you'd have those types of links accumulating. I too would be interested in hearing more about what people choose to do (or not) about bad links that arrive uninvited...

How to target multiple locations?
Yeah the line above - "...should do the trick in a non-spammy way...." is worrisome to me. You need to think on various counsel here and here's some ideas fyi... Miriam (a leader here in Moz) offers up these great tips... https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177?hl=en http://moz.com/blog/local-landing-pages-guide http://moz.com/local-search-ranking-factors (is the big David Mihm LOCAL factors reports that many of us here have contributed to!!!) Great places to start! Me? Yeah, I think the G local algo is now good enough to parse when someone is trying to get way too much ranking juice using that kind of "stacked" location page trick. Beware, bad local tactics HURT!!!

Is it possible to avoid redirect of penalties for 301 forwards?
Can you elaborate more on your experience on certain penalties being passed vs being ignored? Would like to hear more. To your second point, if I understand you properly your are saying that a domain with authority may be able to counteract a passed penalty? If so, that case would not apply in this scenario as the new domain started from scratch and had to build up authority. However, the domain ranked pretty much from the first month.

Lost 75% of my traffic on Oct 25, help appreciated
Traffic decreased about the same on all pages. I was however surprised that the thin pages was 40% of all landing pages. This might actually be one explanation. It still doesn't explain the extremely sudden drop however, since I've read content-related algo hits are usually more gradual (over one or several weeks). I might be wrong however. Stats: 75% decrease in traffic on thin quote pages (40% of all landing pages) 80% decrease in traffic on all other content rich pages (60% of all landing pages) My plan now is to hide (NOINDEX) the thin pages.(http://moz.com/community/q/noindexing-thin-content-pages-good-or-bad)
