  • Hi James, We don't know of any email problems, but this post does explain why we got a test email! Try sending me either a PM or a message directly at keri at seomoz dot org. Thanks! Keri

  • Even though it's the same color, the link stands out from the text because it has a different weight. I think it's more important that that links stand out, which this one does, but generally that means a different color.

  • Having the same issue - would prefer not to post the domain name though. It's my first time using SEOMoz, new PRO user, and I'm literally blocked from my first campaign. The site is responsive, hosted on a great server, there's a robots.txt that's intact and is only disallowing access to one particular directory, and the site is currently indexed in Google because I can see the pages. Methinks there's something wrong on your end - this question has 120 views which means it's more than a few isolated cases. Should I just go ahead and set up the campaign anyway, ignoring the error?

  • We don't usually cut any content from the videos, no - except in a few instances where speakers have requested that certain things are left out or the session is not released altogether. There are also sessions at the conferences that aren't filmed though -  such as live site clinics, round-table discussions with the speakers and some impromptu Q&A. If you have the opportunity, I would definitely recommend coming along to the event  rather than just buying the videos - though if that's not feasible, the videos are a pretty good compromise between cost and getting the knowledge.

  • Congratulations, and glad Q&A has been a part of the journey! In both the start-up I helped build and my own consulting business, that first retainer client in the $1,500+/month category is when the momentum really started. I predict an exciting couple of years for you.

  • Nor would it help local search.  This could be a major factor in deciding where to purchase heavy printed materials.

  • The guide on scribd was not put up there by an SEOmoz employee. As Mike mentions, the seomoz.org/help page is where to get the most current information. You're also free to ask questions here in Q&A, and we even do have an Associate who is from Italy that may be able to lend you a hand in answering Q&A questions.

  • I can't speak about the history of design choices, but I know that going forward it is a consideration and we certainly want to make the site more responsive and friendly on mobile and tablet devices.

  • HI Alvin, I understand that you're quite paralyzed on external actions. It seems that you have to focus on your onsite activity. You're in contact with a governamental page so a possibly high authority, you may put into your site something which show this relationship with the governmental entity and achieve some links which everyone dreams about gov and edus. You may have access to autoritative figures which may release opinions or important news which other people may not know about. So in short create great content focusing on your strengths, your high autohrity. About what I said you before, can't you promote that website or its contents using your personal profile in social medias? Or is it forbidden to let people that this page exists? Hope this may be a better help.

  • Hi there The question is two-fold, so let's look at it in bits. First - Google+ may pass SEO value to your site, just as any other website would.  This is because Google+ pages can accrue PageRank and also pass it on - the links in the "about" section of a business page, for example, are dofollow, which passes PageRank or SEO equity. Second of all, Google+ already has a big influence in organic search in a few other ways - and this is likely to get bigger over time.  We have seen people being able to link to their website with the rel=author tag - which links the website with a Google+ profile.  This creates a rich snippet in the organic search results, a small picture of the contributor's profile, which has been tested to show an increase in click-through rate in the SERPs.  So that's one way. The second is personalised search.  People logged into their Google accounts will be served personalised search engine results.  This could be based on their previous browsing history, pages that they have "+1'", friends that have "+1"'d pages and probably more factors in the future.  This can have a massive shift in how organic search appears and therefore makes Google accounts and Google+ a significant influencer. I would start engaging more and more with your Google+ account.  Get involved with Google+ community pages to start getting more followers to your own account and start being active and promoting your business pages too.  Engage with your audience, take part of the Hangouts feature and start adding +1s and followers to your page.  Link up your personal profile to your blog posts with the "rel=author" schema tag to improve click through rate on these posts.  The stronger your profile and business page are, then it's most likely the stronger the influence they will have in organic search. Hope this answers your questions!

  • SEO is not dead. Why? I run the oldest, most informative, beautiful website in my niche yet I still get out ranked by spammy sites run by people who know nothing about the niche. What can I conclude from this? Content is not yet king. If you build it they won't necessarily come. Oh, and SEO is definitely not dead.

  • Hi Alan, We've been testing a new internal search tool for the last few weeks.  We agree that the results are not as good as with our previous tool, and have already started the process of switching back - you should see an improvement in the next week or two. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your feedback!
