Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • I understand that it really makes minimal difference whether im on page 15 or 25 of google search, and that either one is virtually traffic-less - however, if i was able to track my position (over 100+), i would at least be able to see if my rank/position was improving or not. Because thats a pretty important thing to know.. Does anybody else know of any tools that let you search your website position on search engines that give you results over 100+ ? It would be a very valuable thing for me to know.. Because ive been trying incredibly hard to increase my position. Also, thank you for your pointers about my website. I will try to change the pages a little bit, although they are pretty straight-forward for the most part except for the difference between bulb numbers for my product. They all "look" the same technically, so its hard to make each page individually different. But ill try. Other than that, what else can i try that will increase my traffic? Ive been considering using Attracta's TurboTraffic.. They submit to the top 100 search engines and re-submit your sitemap on a regular basis, as well as create blogs dedicated to your site and create valuable backlinks, etc.. It all sounds really good, but not sure if its worth it or not. What "seo improvement websites" would you guys recommend? Sorry for all the questions, i tried to separate them by paragraph. Please try to answer all of them if you can!

  • Hi RTG, My understanding is the Moz Toolbar is designed to parse (count) all links within the HTML code. Depending on how the source code is written, this may include links hidden by Ajax. It does it's best not to count links embedded in javascript or other snippets of code, but in all honestly it wouldn't be that surprising for these types of links to slip through. Another way you can links is by viewing Google's Text Cache of the page you are viewing. You can do this with the following query, replacing your website for example.com http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://example.com/&strip=1 Google will "show" the links that it sees. But this doesn't tell the whole story either. You see, Google will also try to parse javascript links and Ajax types link and see if they can follow them. So if you're trying to hide links with AJAX, it may not be the best method, as Google can likely discover them. That said, it's unknown how much weight those links will carry in terms of authority and anchor text. If it sounds like I'm talking in circles, it's because I am.   It sounds like what you're really concerned with here is the amount of links on the page. For that I recommend this post by Dr. Pete: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-many-links-is-too-many Hope this helps!

  • I made the domain redirect changes last week on the 18th and had my crawl complete on sunday but still seeing both domains in my report?  Does it take time and maybe i need to wait for couple crawls before I see the domains fall off or do i need to start a whole new campaign?  Current campaign is root level domain campaign without the www. THanks n advance

  • Hi Dana, Without knowing anything about the site or the keywords, I would deduce that the url_1 page has best link profile from external sources for KW1... You will be able to see this by running the three URL's through open site explorer. This will help you understand your offsite optimisation. I would imagine the url_1 has more links than the other two AND/OR the sources of these links are more relevant (or sites with higher Page / Domain Authority) AND the ratio of keywords in the anchor text vs generic anchor text is better (would aim for 1 keyword back link to 3-4 generics). At the end of the day, the reason SEO is such a busy and exciting industry is that there are many signals that help a page rank. If there was an exact answer to your question the industry wouldn't exist. Hope this helps, Dan

  • Before you invest in a product you could get some information. Lots of people post generic description of products / services here and members will provide their opinions about them.   We will tell you if the box is full of crap or gold.

  • You know what I do when I want to get sense of whether or not a directory page might be worth it?  I go to the directory page that I would expect to get a link from, click on a link, then run a OSE report on the page I land on to see how it shows in the report.  Do that for a few more links on that and other pages and you'll get an idea of it's value.  Keep in mind that directories are often not a good choice when it comes to long-term link value.

  • Hi Tela, Thanks for the reply. I'm a bit surprised more users haven't been asking for a feature like this. I think it would be great for doing outreach to sites where your competitors just got a link within the past week - strike while the iron is hot. I've been doing a bit of this, but the current interfaces make it a bit time consuming. Main thing I want is to be able to quickly view recent links (preferably from both sources) to a bunch of competitor URLs, in one location (without having to run multiple reports). This could be accomplished by a campaigns type tool, RSS feeds, an API, etc.

  • PedroandJobu Ain't you the wild thing! First, in On Page reports, you are not seeing one of your new urls? Do you have that new url or the 301'd old one in On Page with a keyword? Go to your Campaign, 4th menu item is On Page - click it. At the top left of the report in blue links will be Summary and Report Card. Click on Report Card.  Plug in the info here and get a report and it will likely show on next campaign. Now, go to your navigation bar and type in the precise url of the old site that is resolving to the new missing report page: does the new page show when you hit enter or something else? This is just a quick and dirty way to see if a redirect is redirecting where you want it. Hope this helps and tell Jobu I have set aside some Jack Daniels Black and a candle in the hallway. Robert

  • @Chiaryn I had the same issue and dicovered that the tool is very sensitive to how the URLs are enetred. Make sure that you have removed  http:// in the URLs so that all URLs are in the format www.competitorsite.com That should do the trick! Danny
