Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • My apologies, actually I am still running my analysis, & I think I accidentally hit send before I was finished typing. And in fact, as I can see, I definitely prematurely sent. ; ) I promise, I will send any conflicting issues SEOmoz way. I just trust SEOMoz guys information more than I do Hub spots spammy newsletters, & banners. I just really am needing to know how SEOmoz feels about them, and if SEOmoz trusts their guidance. When it comes to the Site Grader portion, with SEOmoz webinars, and suggestions, and tools, I scored a 95%, when 5 months ago, I was an 80%.

  • FYI, campaigns became available the following day, so if anyone else runs into this, just give it 24 hours and you should have your campaigns.

  • Hey seo.academy, It sounds like your site hasn't been reindexed by Linkscape or like those other links are deeper than Linkscape is going on your site. Most new sites and links will be indexed by our spiders and available in Linkscape and Open Site Explorer within 60 days, but some take even longer for a plethora of reasons, including crawl-ability of sites, the amount of inbound links to them, and the depth of pages in subdirectories. Just so you know, here's how we do our index: we take the last index, take the 10 billion URLs with the highest mozrank (with a fixed limit on some of the larger domains), and start crawling from the top-down until we've crawled 40,000,000,000 pages (which is about 1/4 of the amount in Google's index). Therefore, if the site is not linked to by one of these seed URLs (or one of the URLs linked to by them in the next update) then it won't show up in our index We update our Linkscape Index every 3 to 5 weeks. Crawling the whole internet to look for links takes 2-3 weeks. And then we've got 1-2 weeks of processing to do on those links to determine which are the most important links etc. You can see a schedule of how often we update, and planned updates here: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/345964-linkscape-update-schedule Linkscape focuses on a breadth-first approach, and thus we nearly always have content from the homepage of websites, externally linked-to pages and pages higher up in a site's information hierarchy. However, deep pages that are buried beneath many layers of navigation are sometimes missed and it may be several index updates before we catch all of these. If our crawlers or data sources are blocked from reaching those URLs, they may not be included in our index (though links that points to those pages will still be available). Finally, the URLs seen by Linkscape must be linked-to by other documents on the web or our index will not include them. I hope this information helps! It definitely sounds like for your issue specifically, it's a matter of those links not getting indexed yet. Also, I'd definitely recommend you use OSE instead of the Linkscape tool - OSE is much better. In the future, if you have a question about our site or tools, please email it to help@seomoz.org to get faster service. Thank you!

  • Hey Ryan! While the toolbar should be showing you correct link counts, you're right - it doesn't show a list of those links. If you'd like to see that feature, definitely suggest it at our feature request forum: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293194-seomoz-pro-feature-requests. As for links going out from the site, if you think there's an issue with the tool can you email some examples to help@seomoz.org? It's more of a support question than an SEO question so definitely hit us up there with more information about the issue if you think it's inaccurate. Hope that helps!

  • Hello there! This is more of a customer service question than an SEO question, so definitely hit up our support forums at http://seomoz.zendesk.com. Specifically, the API Developer's Forum is where you should post questions about the API: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293196-developer-discussion-group. If it's account-specific, you can always write in a support question to help@seomoz.org. I'm not familiar with PHP, but if you try to make the call using the http sample code provided at www.seomoz.org/api you should be able to get data back. If you need help with other sample code, hit up those API forums and check our the API Wiki: http://apiwiki.seomoz.org/w/page/13991133/SEOmoz-API-Home. Hope that helps! See you on the forums.

  • Hi Dru! We were experiencing a bug where the URLs for duplicate content weren't being displayed, but the good news is that this has been fixed! You should now be able to see the URLs in your campaign.

  • You're right, I probably should block bots from crawling that xml file (yes, it duplicates what is on my blog). On the other hand, it may be a bug in SEOmoz's crawler that it's reporting a warning about a missing meta description tag in a .xml file, too. (so FYI SEOmoz, if you're listening...).

  • This question has been raised here: http://www.seomoz.org/q/title-tag-on-sitemap-xml You don't want a link to an XML sitemap - rather a HTML sitemap (as Ryan states) You can use a tool like http://www.xml-sitemaps.com to generates sitemaps in both xml and html formats. HTML being the one to display on your website and the XML installed into the root directory www.skycandle.co.uk/sitemap.xml I have generated one for you here for you to see - of course generate another if you want to change the parameters. http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/details-www.skycandle.co.uk.html Don't worry about the XML sitemap too much as these aren't essential on smaller sites if all the pages of your site are indexing OK - as they should be picked up without the need to direct Search Engines them if the site has a clearly navigable structure. Take a look at these articles for additional info http://www.seomoz.org/blog/xml-sitemaps-guidelines-on-their-use and http://www.seomoz.org/blog/expert-advice-on-google-sitemaps-verify-but-dont-submit Of course the HTML sitemap is a useful tool for quick naviagation of your site and will improve your visitors experience on your site.
