Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • I am not aware of anything you are missing, but I have not delved into all the SEOmoz tools as much as I would like to either.

  • It takes a lot longer then any of us desire to see the links in OSE. OSE gets it's data from Linkscape which is updated about once per month. It takes about 2-3 weeks to crawl the web, then 1-2 weeks to process the data.  The next update should happen around July 11th. When you say it's been "about 1-2 months", in my experience it is almost always the shorter time frame offered, or less. It seems to take a solid 60+ days for links to appear in OSE. If your link is there now, I am confident you will see in after the next update.

  • Google has done a far bit of cleaning up recently and there are severl posts on Panda and Farmer updates that caused high page ranked sites to fall in actual rank. If the site had little content or large collections of links then they probably got hit. Just type 'Google Panda' and read some of the recent post for more details. You should run the PR8 & 9 sites through Open Site Explorer to see where it considers them to rank now. You can also check the links to ensure they are not No-Follow.

  • Thanks guys, I hoped that if some of the info was out of date on the 'subdomain reach', there may have now been a way to add a prefered subdomain to my campaign The reason for the request is currently Roger reports lots of duplicate tags on the blog which Google does not reports because they are restricted in robots.txt or with NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW, NOARCHIVE in the meta tag.. Since I do want to keep the historic data, I will just sift through the errors reported by the blog.

  • Yoast seems really cool, but I currently have Genesis from StudioPress. I installed Yoast and it removed all of my meta descriptions.  I would have to go back and and re-enter all meta descriptions to use it....or do you know of a way to keep them when transferring from one plugin to the other?

  • Hi Jimbo, did you get those sorted out, or are you still having a problem? If you're having a problem, the best bet is to email help@seomoz.org and create a ticket there.

  • Hi Jennifer, Rand just made a comment today on another question in Q&A that addresses some of the differences between the figures from OpenSiteExplorer and Magestic. http://www.seomoz.org/q/why-there-is-no-even-close-correlation-between-majesticseo-data-and-open-site-explorer Hope this helps!

  • I agree with EGOL, and would add, we have several successful SEO clients that if you look at the keyword volume of there services, it's to low to even show up.  Bigger ticket, needs less volume.  Smaller ticker, lot's of volume.

  • To answer part 2, if your CSS knowledge is advanced or at least really good, there aren't any design limitations. There are several themes designed for specifically for customization (weaver, blankslate) .  Add to that a couple cool plugins (jShortcodes) and you've got total control of the look.

  • Thanks for your thoughts. Having looked into it, we've got 10 linking root domains which used to register through SEOmoz but are no longer doing so whose domain authority is above 70. This would suggest that they are still important enough to be crawled, however I guess I would need to get the PA of the linking pages that have been lost incase they are less important pages on large domains. I'll keep this question updated with anything else that comes up.

  • Hi Steven, this is a difficult one to crack, pointing out the exact reason for that category page not showing in the tools is not as easy, but I do see some issues with your site that might be affecting the flow of authority: yes, Architecture. You have: http://www.minespress.com/ (Home) http://www.minespress.com/category/printed-products (Category 1) http://www.minespress.com/category/printed-envelopes (Category 2) http://www.minespress.com/category/business-envelopes (Category 3) http://www.minespress.com/products/10-business-envelopes (and the product) I see what you are trying to do, but you have a long road to let the user get to the product, this is what I would do: http://www.minespress.com/printed-products/business-envelopes/10-business-envelopes/ http://www.minespress.com/promotional-products/key-tags/house-stress-ball-keychain/ I think that having a category called "printed envelopes" its just redundant (is there any other kind of envelope?) Maybe consider linking to the most important categories from the main navigation. Also on a side note: Please check this http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo/basics-of-search-engine-friendly-design-and-development The idea of controlling link juice by using no-follow is not useful anymore. nofollow-graph.png
