Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hi Cees, I would actually wait until Tuesday (US time) and re-run your metrics. Open Site Explorer is updating as I type this, so in another few hours there should be fresh information. Run your reports and see if there's still the same problem. If there is still the problem, open a ticket with the help desk either through the web or by emailing help@seomoz.org. Thanks!

  • This sounds like a case for the help desk. Email them at help@seomoz.org with details of your problem. Also include a link to this Q&A thread and mention that one other person has gotten the error occasionally, so the help desk can follow up with Per Allerup if they need any additional information. Thanks!

  • Thank you guys! It's definitely personalized results. It's still such a weak domain though to show to me so highly ranked in Google. I guess that's an exact match domain type of thing though. Sometimes I wish my site had my main keyword in it Thank you all though for your quick responses. Sorry if it was an obvious answer.

  • It could be something from Joomla, like it's creating printable versions of the pages. Are you still having this issue? Do the reports of duplicate pages give you any clues form the URL?

  • I think because that section is labeled "crawl errors", an area blocked from crawling would be considered an error. I can see where you're coming from, but think of it as an error found with an attempt to crawl, not necessarily an error found in the site itself.

  • Can you redirect those pages to some relevant category pages on the site?  The 301 may help in this situation.   Ideally you need to find out where the internal links are a eliminate them. The 4xx errors arent the worst, and those pages should get de-indexed eventually.  Also make sure the xml sitemap it updated with the proper urls and those old ones arent in there anymore.

  • I think you're stuck with it. I also get odd effects sometimes when scrolling in PDFs when the mozbar is on in chrome. I read somewhere that there's an update in the works for the chrome toolbar - hopefully that'll make the chrome version as whizzy as the firefox one is now.

  • Hi Jake! This sounds more like a question for the help desk as it may be a bug. Email them at help@semoz.org with this question, and they'll get back to you.

  • Not an unintellegent question at all. You are right that you can't message a fan page (as far as I know!) and that someone must follow you in order to DM on Twitter. However, don't be shy about reaching out. Post on the fan wall or @username message the site owner on Twitter. You don't have to spell out that you are looking for a link, just say something like "@username Hey, Have a question about your site - can you DM me?" I'd think most webmasters wouldn't mind this sort of communication. Social media is all about communication, afterall. Hope that helps and good luck with the link.

  • You can download the Google Toolbar or get Google Chrome and get the Chrome SEO Add-On, both of which have excellent tools for determining a site's rank and what terms they're after.  Google Ad Planner also has some features in this regard.  Good luck!

  • You can make links unreadable using certain techniques, but hiding those links will probably do you more harm than good. I would re-consider what you list. Maybe everything does not need to be listed from the main nav on every page? I know it seems useful letting everyone get to where they want to go from one click, but it is not always 100% needed and can sometimes actually scare people off! On your site, take 'Workers Compensation' under 'Practice Areas' - you don't have to list all the different types of workers compensation there, it could be that this information is displayed once getting to the 'Workers Compensation' page - in fact, I see it is already. This is obviously a business decision you need to make, but something to think about.

  • Hi Anthony, I've asked the help desk to come in and comment on this when they have a chance. I've also copied another Q&A here that may help you until they can come in and add any updates. This is from the help desk, in a response to a question about UTF-8 input for Juicy Link Finder. http://www.seomoz.org/q/juicy-link-finder-doesn-t-support-hebrew-utf8-input Hi Kevin I feel like I've got to be honest with you. It's an old tool and we're not very proud of it anymore. It doesn't take advantage of our awesome web index, or all the cool analysis we've done around powerful links. We're working instead to replace it with more powerful link tools. Our newer tools are built to support Unicode, but most of our older ones don't. Sorry about that! For example, I think you'd be much better off trying our Competitive Link Research Tool (it's in Labs and therefore sometimes gets overloaded, but it's so cool when it works!), or even running your competitors through Open Site Explorer. www.seomoz.org/labs/link-intersect www.opensiteexplorer.org The bottom line is that Juicy Link Finder is unstable and doesn't support Unicode (because we're deprecating it in favor of new technologies), and it doesn't give you very sophisticated results.
