Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • I don't know such tool besides webmaster toold that represents rises and falls in rankings, but maybe you can get some use of this one: http://www.archive.org/web/web.php It is actually a web page archive so you can get a view on a former look and content of the webpage. Maybe this can give you some clues about the rankings.

  • Hi Daniel, So sorry that this isn't working right for you. Could you send an email to help@seomoz.org and let the help team know about this? They don't hang out here unless we flag a message, and sending them an email is the best way for them to easily get this on their radar. Thanks!

  • Actually the Rank Tracker Tool will be going away in it's current form.  We are working on coming out with a new version of that tool and you can leave any feedback or feature requests you have here: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/what-does-your-ideal-rank-tracker-look-like-we-want-to-know All that info will be sent to our product team who will decide on the new features.

  • People sometimes expect miracles from the tool, instead of using tools to do miracles. For the same reason you have avg. position for particular keyword in google webmaster tools.

  • When I look at my links in the Competitive Domain Analysis and I see I have 113,018 Ext followed links but Open Site Explorer shows 3,148.  Why is there such a difference? It sounds like you are examining two different link metrics. Is it possible you are looking at "linking root domains" or another metric in OSE? Another possibility is in OSE you are looking at links to the page but the other tool is showing links to the domain. In addition, is there a way to view the External Followed links? I want to see where these 113,018 links are coming from. From your Mozbar you can click on the link total and your OSE page will open. Alternatively you can navigate to OpenSiteExplorer.org and see a breakdown of your links.

  • There is no tool on SEOmoz that will do that.  We do have the API which will give you that information but you will need to write a script that will pull the information for you.  Maybe some of our users have other tools out there and can point you in that direction.

  • Yes use local, it always helps, but keyword research should show you how often it is entered. dont use local in titile fo google places or you will get suspended.

  • This refers to the difference between Page Authority (PA) and Domain Authority (DA) Where Domain Authority measures the predictive ranking strength of entire domains or subdomains, Page Authority measures the strength of individual page. The same is true for metrics such as MozRank and MozTrust. It's completely normal to have a homepage PA that is higher or lower than your overall DA. If your homepage PA recently dropped while everything else remained constant, it could indicate that Linkscape didn't find some links pointing to your homepage that it found previously. Normally, this isn't anything to worry about, unless you've seen a corresponding drop in traffic. In this case, I'd check your backlinks. It's also normal for both PA and DA to fluctuate from update to update. It's a comparative metric, so these metrics are best used when comparing yourself to your competition, instead of tracking your metrics in isolation.  For example, if your DA rises 5 points, this in itself means nothing unless you are comparing it to another domain.
