  • Just a thought... Ever think about looking around for a few days and find someone who has something similar to what you are looking for, then approach them about purchasing it? Then alter it to your own specification. I know the pitfalls, but this may be a quicker and cheaper solution.

  • You could also consider placing the articles on your website and having publishers that pick it up linking directly to your site. I have a feeling that Panda will keep rolling out to a stage where links from content farms will be nearly worthless (IMO). Regarding the guest blogging, yes the search engines will see it as duplicate content but that should only affect them websites. For e.g If 2 high authority websites pick up the article, you will get 2 great backlinks and they will fight it out between each other in the SERP's

  • Thanks for all the replies guys. Super helpful. Is SEOmoz's Q&A custom built?

  • If publisher who you are an affiliate of allows for any custom variable to also be sent with the visitor you can include this and hopefully query it in your reporting from the partner.  This is the case for CJ, Amazon, and eBay but often times private affiliate programs have limited tracking.

  • Thanks!  That does help.  One other question to add to this: Does anyone have experience either way with where the click takes them?  FB page vs. Website?  And if so, what helped conversions once they got there?

  • We use Boldchat. I've not seen any drags on loading and it seems to work well. CSRs don't complain about it anyways.

  • Hi We have used a few different systems over the last year finally settling on snap engage. This system is particularly useful for proactive chat where a small pop up appears after a specified time on specified pages. We have found that this is improving conversions. It uses skype or google talk and has quod functionality whilst remaining simple to use and install.

  • Thanks for your prompt reply David. It's unfortunate to read that there wasn't any noticeable impact. I'm getting ready to launch my social commerce site in a month or so and I was leaning more towards FB like as they are the easiest from a user standpoint. But from what I read in SEOmoz FB shares carry a higher weight for SEO. Thus my interest in your test. Congratulations though on getting 2200 FB shares!

  • Aside from seo as a benefit, we get some pretty decent traffic from our article directory sites. It's not the best but is considered another reason we submit to article directories.

  • Thank you for your answer. Still seems that Google Adwords don't make it easy. Tried Woopra in the past. Trying GetClicky.com now. As per conversion, there is no in depth analysis on a per click basis in a dashboard format for google adwords. Will try the dimension tab.

  • Thanks Wissam! I did some searching and downloaded Site Map Pro. It is in process right now (estimated 7 - 10 hours). I will try your suggestion as well and compare the two. Your response is greatly appreciated!

  • Wowzers, that was above and beyond the call of duty lol Thanks Chris!! The problem is, I have quite a few thousand links I'm going to need to put in under a few dozen categories. I saw that there was a feature request for something similar so I gave it some votes. If they do put that in, which by the sounds of things they might well do, then I'll certainly purchase a membership. Thank you again, you've been extremely helpful

  • Awesome stuff! This isn't an entirely reliable method, but for really quick assessments of what pages are strong on a site, doing a site:yourdomain.com search can show which pages are relatively strongest. Like I said, it isn't perfect data, but it takes 5 seconds and can reveal pages that you might not have assumed are the strongest that may be doing well with a combo of internal and external links.

  • Thanks for taking the time to respond.  10 days ago Adwords sent us an email confirming the review had taken place and the account was now active (but 10 days later we are still suspended in our dashboard).  We are now in the process of setting up new accounts....
