  • I don't know if there are any real effective "free newswires"  You may be able to find a database of press contacts for your particular industry, but most companies  vocas / prweb / and busineseswire attempt to make $$ for putting press through the wire. As for the 3 mentioned newswires above, i have used all three and can safely say that businesswire is leaps and bounds better than vocus / prweb... the rub is that it is also exponentially more expensive.  bwire does offer real organic SEO with their news outlets as opposed to the other two. however, for decent inexpensive reach, i can recommend prweb.  You can get a good press release out on the wire for about 80.00. I hope this helps.. if you have any more detailed questions about these, ill be more than happy to clarify in greater detail.

  • Sry for my missuse of words: I meant every page/subpage ! So is it better for the ranking to get +1s for one page or to get a few on every page ? Thanks a lot, it has helped so far!

  • Ensure the content is good quality, and ensure it contains some original and useful stuff Promote the content on the basis that it's good quality and it will hopefully gain links, shares, etc... naturally Link build with anchor text to relevant pages from relevant pages on relevant sites, but don't over-do it with the anchor text, only a percentage of it should be keyworded. Diversify with your link building, so get links from different types of sites such as blogs, forums, directories, articles, social media platforms, and do a bit of bookmarking too. Start looking on blogs, etc... and on here about how social signals are seemingly becoming more and more important, and think about how you will begin to work that fact into your future strategies.

  • If page.html is theultimate goal, then www.website.com/page.html?source=xxxyyy will give link juice to page.html, just make sure you tell webmaster tool site config that 'source' is a parameter and you will have the juice to flow to page.html. I would also add to make sure all the engines index it correctly.

  • I agree, Google offer a great search experience to users. If by having a great product you can achieve 80% of the market share in a territory you undoubtedly need to ask is this good for consumers?

  • You could also potentially offer RSS feeds for many different categories of products: newest products, top sellers, screaming deals, get-it-while-it-lasts, etc. Since RSS feeds are useful for deep indexing on an eCommerce site, they are valuable for both consumers and bots alike.

  • Just a quick heads up that you're no longer going to get the "visual benefit" if you're running checkout with adwords.  they discontinued this June 2 https://checkout.google.com/support/sell/bin/answer.py?answer=1323905 an ecommerce client of mine was seeing great benefit with this in conjunction with his PPC.  He saw a temporary drop after they stopped displaying the checkout, but it has since rebounded.

  • I previously reported this issue and others shared it is broken. Presently I am logged in to SEOmoz (obviously) and my country-based IP is grayed out still.

  • Do yourself a favor and take my advice. I'm speaking from the experience of having managed projects of 22,000+ page websites based on templates. DO NOT use Dreamweaver templates! They will make your life a nightmare if you ever need to scale. Templates are good for newbies or small, simple websites but will turn into a major problem if you ever need to get professional with web development. Even if you plan on starting off small, you may eventually want to scale and if you build sites around templates will need to later re-code hundreds or thousands of pages to break them out of templates and into SSI. There is nothing more beautiful than updating a footer across an entire 10,000 page website with nothing more than a single file upload.

  • It's a pain but it's easier to just create a new listing and then delete the old.

  • Unfortunately, I can't speak for the plug in part of your question. However, I can offer up from a user experience perspective that this is a good case for testing out your site. You can test different messages, different abilities, different pricing and see what the consumer response is. Google Website Optimizer can help you set up an A B test so you can see what your costumers respond more favorably to. I suppose your ability to do that depends on your flexibility with the shopping cart and, unfortunately, I am no expert on that. I would only suggest that you ask these questions when you are talking to your developer. I hope that helps!  Best of luck.

  • Here's a list on the SEOmoz App Gallery, but not all of it is Wordpress related: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293216-seomoz-app-gallery...  Yoast is one of the definitive SEOs for Wordpress.  Tons of resources here: http://yoast.com/articles/wordpress-seo/

  • Whilst I thank you for your response, I am curious as to if you would elaborate more. You have stated that we have both missed the point? I am wondering, what exactly is the point that is being missed on both ends? So you are telling me that the frequency of backlinks being created on a certain domain does not affect the quality and value of the backlinks? Especially if this same PR is being distributed into a network of other PR sites? What about using the top X amount PR sites (some free) once per month? Some do not have a distribution network and some do or you can opt out of such a feature. The proposition given to me was, release a PR once per week for the SOLE purpose of developing/creating backlinks to a specific site. We do not have press/news worthy enough information to release on such a frequent basis. Who really does? Are these backlinks really worth that much to release "unworthy" news? Would really like to hear more on how you back up your opinion.
