Tool to Report Fresh New Links Indexed in the Last Week
Hi Glenn, Another way to supplement your intelligence on new links to your site is to add Linkstant, which was built by Tom Critchlow and Rob Ousbey from Distilled. This works similarly to the way analytics does. You place the code and if a new link is clicked that has not been seen by the tool before it will be reported. It's not perfect, but given that most savvy webmasters would check a link by clicking after it is placed, it can be quite quick in surfacing new links for you. Because of the way the tool works, initially you will see it report links you already know about, but after a time the links reported will be bringing you news of new acquisitions. Hope that helps, Sha

Google Places to Google+ Local - help!
Hi Jeanie, As I suspected, I could not find any ideas of a workaround to having a personal account in order to set up the Google+ Business Page. I want to link to a Mike Blumenthal article here, just to make sure that you understand all of the steps involved in the transition from Google Places to Google+ Local: http://blumenthals.com/blog/2012/06/08/google-for-business-places-forums-wrapup/ This, in particular, describes the issue at hand, I believe: 1- Be sure that you upgrade your Google account to a Google+ personal account. Life will be much easier if it has the same email as your dashboard account as it will make the coming merge go more smoothly. If your Google+ Business page is created under a different account than your Places listing, then add the email for the Places Dashboard as an additional manager of the G+Business Page. The Places email must be associated with an individual and that individual must have a G+ account. This will make it easier for Google to match the Google+Local page that was created to the Google+ Business page. Note if the email is a business email and can not be associated with an individual you will need to wait for the implementation of Google’s manual merging process. I recommend reading the whole article. Mike does a good job of explaining what is happening and why you have to have certain accounts to swim with the tide on this. Granted, you must have that personal account to manage the Google+ Business Page, but the outward facing signals of the page can be about the business, rather than about you. All the same, I agree that the way Google has gone about this is confusing in the extreme and I'm sure thousands of business owners are saying,"huh?" Hope the above resource helps, Jeanie.

Tool for checking for mobile website?
Maybe a Firefox extension that impersonates a mobile browser by changing the user-agent string? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/addon/phony/ Haven't tried it myself, but if this one doesn't work, there might be another one out there that works.

Joomla or Wordpress for SEO? Or something else?
I have always used WordPress for websites because the ease of SEO implementation. Has always performed to my liking as well. I haven't used Joomla much but I know people that claim the same.. Traffic Geyser... Does it work?
Hey, I've not got any experience with Traffic Geyser myself, but I'd entirely second Russ's perspective on the product. It may be valuable to you, but it's a pretty expensive package and I would take all the claims with a massive pinch of salt and the knowledge that you could get slapped for using it. If you're keen to just get views and exposure for your video - I would highly recommend both ploughing some PPC budget into the Google Display Network and paying for YouTube views that way (assuming your content is suitable). You could also look at a service like Unruly Media who I have experience with and would recommend. Unruly do viral seeding through blogger outreach - paying bloggers to embed videos and generate more views. All links are nofollow - so the service doesn't break any Google webmaster guidelines.

Youtube keyword tool?
No probs! Thanks for the kind words about my post. Not sure if you're aware or not - but Wistia have just launched a free package, which will be totally awesome if you're just optimising a small site with a couple of videos http://wistia.com/blog/free-plan/

Feedburner email service
Something else to be aware of - the process of importing your current subscribers is VERY iffy. In fact I've never found anyone - or reports of anyone - who actually accomplished it successfully. There are anecdotal reports online that you can send Feedburner (Google) a CSV file of your subscribers to have manually added to your Feedburner account, but nobody's actually reported accomplishing this. You likely already know how Google is with custom support for their free products - I sure wouldn't count on being able to make this happen. If you've already got the subscribers in an ESP, use a template that will run off an RSS feed and automate it that way as Rojish recommends. You'll need the full ESP (email service provider) functionality to market to them effectively to turn at least some of them into customers. If you don't care about turning them into customers of some sort, you could just require them all to resubscribe through Feedburner and not worry about the large percentage that would drop off your list as a result. (But then, why build up the list if not to try to get some business advantage from it?)

Best Way to Get Social Media Fans on Facebook and Twitter?
As Malcolm said a great way is to engage others. On Facebook add pages that our relating to your niche and engage the users of those pages. Be sure that that you're not coming off as too spammy and that your comments are relevant, or you're get flagged quickly. On your own page post content that your users will like to share, such as videos, pictures, or questions. Fill in the blank questions and "LIKE" updates are good as well for increasing edgerank on a page. On Twitter, engage users who are similar to you. Every few days go back into Twitter and increase your audience by 5 - 20, these people won't always immediately add you back but if you follow them maybe you can find a way to engage with them down the line. Also be sure to track using software such as HootSuite and Tweetdeck among others. Also it might be worth pointing out Social Fresh the social media education company. http://socialfresh.com/

How to manage and order many advanced segments on Google Analytics ?
First, I agree, the advanced segment list can get pretty messy. And there's no easy way to reorder or structure them. Still, we've managed to keep it slightly under control with some rules. Here's how we do it at Distilled: When creating an advanced segment there's a "more options" toward the end of the creation process. In here you can select whether that segment will be available to all profiles, or a select few. (see image) Now, we have do have some advanced segments that are available to all profiles. Those are the common ones that might be useful to any website. (Quick access segments like Google Organic, Macs, 2 or 3 word keywords, US visitors only, etc.) Otherwise, whenever we create one that is specific to the client's site, we select only their profile(s) in the more options list. You should end up with the top of your custom segment list as your "any profile" segments, and the ones at the bottom are client specific. You can do this retroactively by editing segments. It can be time consuming, but you'll only have to do it once - assuming you properly assign all new segments moving forward. Mike TViau.png

Finding referring page for errors in GWMT
I don't know of another way in GWT but you can do it in CSV format in SEOmoz tools. I know that SEOmoz 404's is different than what you probably see in GWT but you can run a on-page report and then download the CSV report. Sort the report to show all the 404 errors and in the last column you have the referrer.
