For this particular niche, get a good design with proper and user-friendly navigation, provide unique and optimized content (don't fill up your pages like it was done previously), implement regional based meta tags and get FEW but quality links within your industry. That's all!

RE: Need advice and smart solution for H1
Hey,
You may come up with headings like that according to your page to eliminate any confusion.
And yes I agree the content length would be extended but this is what a visitor expects when he visit a particular degree page, i.e. to get all the information. If you think, the page would look ugly you may come up with cool graphics, in-page content navigation and things like that to make it more user-friendly.

RE: Launching large content project - date-stamp question
Hey Eric,
Will these 100 pieces publish on one domain? or you have multiple ones for this?
Whenever a new blog launch, it's recommended to have some posts ready for the users to easily navigate around and gives them the impression that, though the blog is new but it has some great rich content. SEO metrics come later for me in this case..
I really do not think to publish this large quantity of posts in a same day is a good idea.. I know you can change the publishing date from the CMS but for the end users and search engines it will look very unnatural.
I'd recommend you to publish 3-4 posts (max) everyday and share across all the channels to increase the crawling and indexing.
Hope this helps!

RE: Help me regarding Content
Hello,
I remember, I answered something to you for a website related to these keywords. I hope that you have implemented those suggestions.
I agree what Christy has advised, the another reason he's ranking on all those keywords is because of the low competition. These kind of keywords are not very much searched usually and thus there are very few people who develop sites. I am pretty sure, an average site with only proper on-page SEO can easily outrank him within days

Follow what Christy said and you will gonna rock!

RE: Need advice and smart solution for H1
Hey,
Thanks for describing the question completely. I'd suggest you to go with a personalized H1 with the related keyword If possible (don't bombard it with the keywords if it's not fitting naturally).
Honestly speaking, I really don't think you need 4-5 pages for each degree. For the universities as I see, there is only a single page that contains all the information including objectives, course details, credits, fee structure etc. And because of the good amount of content, they ranks well.
Anyway, try something like,
"Why Study Tourism Management?" (for objective page)I would also look out for some KW research related to these degrees and forms some queries that makes some sense like I did above. In this way, your H1 will look good for users and search engines a like.
Do check out this thread and especially Christy's response,

RE: Google Search Listing With Feedback Link
Hey Hans,
Are you referring to this "Feedback" feature? (See the attachment)
If yes, then it's a feature of Google Knowledge sidebar panel and also appears with the Local place listings.
If your company has the WikiPedia page, then you will most likely able to see this result. Freebase was very helpful for this but I think Google shut it down last month. You can still utilise Schematic markup for this.
Check out these guides for better understanding,

RE: Changing existing URL's to improve SEO
Hey Michael,
I would like to know what's the main reason that forcing you to change the existing URL? Is it because of the ranking? If yes, then how old is your current URL's format? And what about the traffic stats of this page, is it among the high ones or a last bencher? If everything is alright then I don't think you need to take a risk of changing/updating your URL.
You can change/update the URL if:
- It's a polluted URL (contains codes, special characters, parameters and other garbage)
- You're no longer offering those services specifically but as the Page Authority is good you don't want to remove that page.
In the above cases, you can consider for changing the URL with a 301 redirect. As the Jason said, 301 does preserve the PR and other metrics.
Remember, you might see a temporary ranking drop after implementing the 301 redirect. So make sure to have a proper action plan before.
Hope this helps!

RE: Highly Related, But Not Ranking
Hey Forrest,
Sometimes it does happen.. The best thing is Google is associating your business with this query which actually means people are searching you. I strongly believe that it's all happen recently and there are high chances that you can climb up in rankings soon if you optimise your content a bit more and get some quality relevant backlinks. The reason I'm saying this so confidently is, usually these terms appears according to geographical searches but I checked UK, USA and even UAE results, it's still there.
To see how it actually works, refer these:
http://searchengineland.com/how-google-instant-autocomplete-suggestions-work-62592
https://moz.com/blog/how-googles-search-suggest-instant-works-whiteboard-friday
https://moz.com/blog/experiment-google-rankings-w-search-volumeThough you're having problem with Google but did you check Bing? This phrase "asset based lending software" is not showing "computer software enterprises inc" in related searches but still your site "www.case.net" is ranking on page 2

Hope this helps!

RE: Google Seeing Way More Pages Than My Site Actually Has
Hey Max,
I agree with Lesley here, Google is fetching your previous pages. You need to wait some time to see the latest result but for quick fixing, you can do these things,
- Run a Screaming Frog and see how many pages it shows.
- Copy all the links that google is showing into excel sheet and check each one.
- Block the extra pages through no index tag or redirect them to the relevant current pages if your have.
For more information on the indexing and crawling, refer this useful latest WBF from Rand,
Hope this helps!

RE: [HELP] My website is on 4th page how to rank it on 1st
Alright this website looks "Awful". Work on the following on page things as soon as you can before seeing further drop,
- Update your meta tags, localize them according to your targeted region.
- Update the whole content and provide fresh, optimized and unique content.
- This is 2015, you really do no need to add 100s of keywords between your main content twice. (I am referring to the bold/ italic content section and the last green section)
Check out these resources to improve your on page SEO,
- https://moz.com/learn/seo/on-page-factors
- https://moz.com/blog/visual-guide-to-keyword-targeting-onpage-optimization
As far as the backlinks are concerned, I suspect that they also required serious attention. For now, work on your on site and get rid of all the spammy links that have been built.
By keeping your industry in mind, you don't required 100s of links. Work on the page and acquire good handful links, it will be enough.
Hope this helps!

RE: Ranking not up in google
Falguni,
I'm sorry to say this but all these sites are making huge SEO blunders.. You seriously need to overlook your complete strategy with the help of a good agency.
For instance, your first domain (http://www.acutehomoeoclinic.com) unnecessarily linking to the inner pages. What's the point to use five-six links in 100 words paragraph? We know internal linking is good but surely not in this way. Plus, why the inner page is linked several times itself? Suppose, I am on on www.abc.com/xyz, why I need to click on a link within the content (4 times in 100 words) that points me to same page again? It really doesn't make any sense!
Keep in touch with the latest happenings in SEO by visiting Moz blog on regular basis.
If you have any particular question or feedback on the pointed issues, please feel free to write here.
Thanks,

RE: Where to position a new page?
Hey Enrico,
Your navigation structure seems good to me but as far as your link structure is concerned, I have some thoughts. So these are your suggested placements,
langhe.net/travel/winery-tours/name-of-tour/ or
langhe.net/wine/wineries/tours/name-of-tour/So here you're going with more than three folders which IMO is not a smart way. Why don't you go with something like.
langhe.net/Italian-tours-best-Barolo-and-Barbaresco (Italian tour is the tour name, Barolo and Barbaresco is the wine) [Sorry I'm not familiar with wines and Italian tours:) You need to correct it]
In this way, you can target long phrases keywords and the URLs will look way better for users and remains SEO friendly.
Check out this great post from Rand on this:

RE: Same content on other domain owned by de company. Canonical is not working
Hey,
It seems that Google is giving respect to "Big School" because of it's overall authority. If you like to continue this approach, you might need to work on the overall authority of "New School" to get things straight.
Frankly speaking, I wouldn't go with this strategy as there are lots of other ways to leverage your new site from the old one. For instance, you may place the attractive banners at the "Tourism" page that point to your new school and stuff like that.
I reckon your "New School" is not offering lots of degree courses so yes you can get the link from "Big School's" content but make sure, you are linking in a proper and natural way.
For more details about canonical tags FAQs, please refer to this brilliant resource from Dr.Pete,
