Summarize your question.Sitemap blocking or not blocking that is the question?
I use Screaming Frog SEO Spider (free version) to check the internal link structure of a website. If a page is blocking ALL spiders it will pick it up. Another thing I would say would be to check in Google Webmaster Tools to see if there are any crawl errors. And the last thing I would add is to make sure that you have a non-JavaScript way to find all the pages on your website - through strong internal linking or a manual sitemap page that isn't generated through JS. Hope this helps

How do you take down a link
I'm assuming you are referring to link that you did via some networks.... where it is a little harder to remove the links since there is no direct connection between you and the link host? Assuming that to be the case - (since otherwise the course of action would be pretty straight forward) - then I would do as I stated here. http://www.seomoz.org/q/how-can-low-quality-links-be-removed Sorry to post a link to a previous one of my answers - but it was quite a long one. Did you get the notice regarding unnatural links in GWT ? Let me know if I can help further. Carlos

Summarize your question.Google places listing has gone AWOL :-(
Hi David, As Bede has mentioned, if you can provide a little more information, it would be helpful. Are you in control of both websites/businesses and their associated Google Place Pages? Please describe more fully what you are in control of and what your goals are. I'll look forward to your reply!

Penguin update pecks at specific terms
Go to GWT and check "link to your site" for ratio that make no-sense. See attached image.Go to GWT and check "link to your site" for ratio that make no-sense, like in this image. Contact the infected link webmaster and ask him to remove your link, probably from the footer, or for the blogroll (WordPress). Read what to do more at http://www.seomoz.org/q/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&query=remove+links&x=0&y=0 Search for Google Patents at http://www.uspto.gov/ - At least I get paid to read them as a court expert witness Google-Penguin-update-remedy.gif

Is SEO moz ranking tool reliable?
Hi Nicola, Thanks for being active in our Q&A, but please remember that members come from all walks of internet marketing and some are just starting out. (We all once where there.) Part of the reason we have Q&A is to help out and be generous with our knowledge, among other TAGFEE tenants, even when the answer or ways to find the answer seem obvious to us. Have a great weekend

Is there a way to measure a competitors content growth?
If you open Google and you type in site:competitor.com and click search you'll get a list of every page (and a count at the top) of every page that is in Google's index. If your competitor has more pages than he did last time, he is either adding pages, adding content, or doing SOMETHING to cause his volume of pages indexed to go up. Hope that helps!

SEO Campign Wont Synch up with facebook
Hey David, It looks like our engineers found an update that Facebook has made some changes to their API that has disabled the type of authentication that we use to connect the Facebook page to your campaign. We are looking for a solution to this issue right now, but I'm afraid it may take a while for us to find a way to work with the changes that Facebook has made, so thank you for your patience in the meantime. If you have any other questions about this issue, I would recommend that you write in to help@seomoz.org, where the Help Team will be able to answer you directly. -Chiaryn

Reciprocal link building a bad idea?
Nice answer. If your thinking about creating a reciprocal link ask yourself if the link would be beneficial to your users. Search engines want to see you linking to closely related and useful content, this is how the web is "supposed" to work. If you're thinking of just slapping a random link in your footer then don't bother.

One H1 tag Dead Long Live multiple H1 tags?
Geoff is right, the H1 is for your pages main target, could be seen as keyword stuffing too.

Whats influencing Googles Predictive text feature?
Like Phil said, if a term is searched on a lot then Google says, right this is an important term add it in. I guess Phil if you took the results and entered them into Google keyword tool, if it was just down to search volume they should be in order, the most search at top down to the last with the littlest search.

Why do some serps have a + map symbol?
Hi Again, David, I've had a chance to talk this other with a few other Local SEOs, and here is the consensus of opinion on the Plus Box. 1. It's algorithmically generated - so nothing you can do to force a plus box on your listing. 2. That being said, following Google's general recommendations on this page might be useful: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=92319&from=52171&rd=1 3. Also, be advised that there appears to be some kind of a new crackdown going on regarding plus boxes and certain businesses who have lost Google's trust seeing their plus boxes disappear. This is a new issue and I don't have any solid data on it. But, it leads me to ask...did you have a plus box before and see it go missing? Curious! Hope this reply helps some. Miriam

Can Microformat hCalendar publish a clients conference schedule?
Hi, In theory you can do it. Although we have been working with microdata vs microformats, after reading through the Google Webmasters Help it looks quite easy to implement. Check the example article @Google(2nd example is the one you are looking for). It should give an insight how to include it. I hope that helped, Istvan

Getting images indexed in the SERPS
As far as I can tell is those are just plain Google Images in a universal search result. If you search [model warship combat hulls] in Google you'll see a similar result. I know most of those image results, and can tell you they are certainly not in Google Merchant. In fact, the first result image (of just a white hull with a pink interior) is from my site, and we're not in Google Merchant. We have made a point to make our file names descriptive, use alt text, etc, but I know that many of the results for similar queries have not even optimized this much.

Big BUPA Bounce rate
Without an in-depth look into your analytics the information you have provided leads me to believe the following is occurring since you specifically mention that you are not running any ppc ads. When Google Analytics is reporting on source/medium the value that is shown direct / none of course refers to any visit that has been tracking that they could not identify a referring domain that started the visit. There are numerous reasons as to why a referring domain can be lost for a visitor 1.Somebody really did type in the address or used a bookmark to get to your page 2.They clicked on a link in an email from a non web based email clients (typically Outlook, Eudora, Thunderbird, etc.) 3.The link was in a document 4.The link originates at a secure (https:) page and your page is not secure (http) 5.Spiders and bots were working from a list of URLs from a previous crawl (this one mostly applies to server logs, rarely to JavaScript based tracking) 6.Spiders and bots may be programmed to suppress the referrer information (this one mostly applies to server logs, rarely to JavaScript based tracking) 7.The visitor is using IE and the link to your site was in Javascript. Javascript links to your site include those that open your site in a new browser window, or any kind of javascript redirect. Many banners’ links are programmed this way. 8.The visitor is using IE and the link to your site is from within a Flash application (there are a lot of ways to do this in Flash so there may be exceptions I would always recommend adding a Ad Campaign tracking variable to any CTA) 9.Your landing page redirects to another page via a 301 permanent server-side redirect 10.The link was on an intranet or some other web site behind a proxy or corporate gateway that was set up to strip referrers from requests 11.The visitor has made changes to their browser that suppresses the referrer information 12.Another site has put your page content into an iFrame and coded the frame to suppress the referrer, in order to make it difficult for you to find out who is framing your content

CMS making body copy mark up faux pais
Bots tend to see the world as text-only (i.e. more like how Lynx renders the web) . This means the formatting tags mostly get stripped out or ignored. As much as everyone promotes their design coding schemes (tables vs divs vs paragraphs) I've never seen a benefit shown for any particular one. Remember, CMS systems make up a good portion of the web. The only potential downside to this would be on long pages. Bots tend to index the first 100k and ignore the rest. I don't know for sure if that includes HTML or not but I would always err on the side of cleaner HTML.

Twitter Hash Tags Leave Me A Liitle Confused :-(
You can create it, but it is better to use a currently trending one unless you have access to a very authoritative twitter account. If you have an event or conference then yes you would need to register it, other than that I would just watch the trends with ideas in pocket with a few different scenarios of good content you have to distribute.
