I'm close to commissioning a designer to create a wordpress driven site but I'm anxious around the standard of the markup. Specifically I need pages to have the classic unique title tags, one H1 tag per page and contnet in p tags.
Now I know theres a wordpress plugin claiming to empower the administartor to have control but are there any icebergs ahead I need navigate to ensure my sites meets Google optimization guildlines?

Any advice welcome

Also to add.... the old urls have stacks of repeated title tags Now if i redirect i'm guessing I'll still have to correct the repeated title tags or will webmaster tools still nag me about repeated title tags.

I have a feeling if i redirect the old urls I'll also have to undo the repeated title tags. Would be great if someone could confirm this would be the case so i can order some strong coffee for the grim task ahead!

Having launched a website there is a cluster of old redundant pages which i dont want to appear in the serach engines problem is they deliver search traffic.

Would it be best to 301 redirect them? Or delete them & 404 Not found alert, I'm really not sure whats best

What i'd like to do is measure abandonment rates as in how many users cant be arsed to fill out the application form. Whilst I have done funnels before theyve been wired into actual pages using Goal funnels in analytics but this scenario of a kind of splash jQuery page appearing has got me stumped, ive no idead how to measure frequeny of click aways (if you see what i mean).
Any ideas welcome

Aaaaahhhhhh!!!!! Fu@king Google authorship, for fuc@s sake why so fuc@ing useless....Ok vent over....

Mission: I wanted to add Google+ authorship images to appear in the serps so I followed this guide to the letter:

I then tested it my authorship link on page http://www.netconstruct.co.uk/services/digital-marketing/  work via the testing tool http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets

And i get a thumbs down(arggg!!) no authorship data recognised but  here's the mark up:

So please can someone give me any insight into why this is not working

With more & more clients creating facebook pages theyve no idea wether they should create a personal account or a business page and neither do i.

One question:

Is this  https://www.facebook.com/Natureflex a business facebook page or a personal account & how can you tell?

Ok... ive got stuck on Follow wonk specifically I'm trying to find bios that are linked To The City Of York, North Yorkshire but the search is picking up New York references as illustrate here:

My questios is, "How did they do this?" With the caveat of they didnt manually search for people in the city of York. Could it be twitter advertising as explained here:

Hi... the above link explains what I'm trying to do but basically i want to add a twitter feed to a website but be able to exclude certain sites. For example you add a feed to a client and they then ask for you to remove competitor messages. Is this possible?

With Google encypting all organic search terms and (Not Provided) appearing like an unwanted rash of eczema doesnt the panic end when you just get that data from Webmaster tools?

Maybe ive got it wrong but isnt all the organic keyword data sitting in webmaster tools any way? so in the words of Lance-Corporal Jack Jones - Dont Panic!

Ok i have afeeling this is a big NO No but i just need to banish all doubt so here goes.. Am i right in saying you cannot subscrive to an RSS feed with the objective of pubkishing the linked contnet on another site.
Put another way if i built a news web page and subscribed to a BBC news RSS feed can i make that content appear in a site i administer?

When I type "Dartex Coatings" in Google i get a search snippet with USA in the description. See illustration: http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/usa-indescription-2_zps42296e0a.jpg I cannot see where this is comming from on site http://www.dartexcoatings.com/ . HAving checked the souce code there is no reference to USA

So my question is please..."where is Google picking up USA from"?
