Google stated last year that they render pages as a normal user would. So if content is initially hidden in an accordion, Google may asses a value less than if it wasn't hidden in the first place. This also assumes that the hidden content has been crawled and indexed. Thoughts?

RE: How seasonal would you expect organic on a b2b site to be?
We have a bit of seasonality and see peaks before and after holidays and the beginning of a quarter. From the beginning of January through memorial day and September through the middle of December we have good organic traffic. Traffic drops a bit during summer. This is a typical pattern for us over the last ten years (we are B2B).

RE: Video Editing tools
Umar has a great list. I still use Microsoft Movie Maker. It doesn't have many tools/effects some of the competitors have, but easy to use.
For filming we use a Canon Rebel SLR camera and we get decent results. Here some tips. We also use Fiverr to create some custom intro's.

RE: MozCon Agenda is up! (Don't forget Pro members get a big discount)
Incredibly excited to attend my first MozCon! Looks like a jammed packed line up of interesting topics. Looking forward to Dr. Pete/Rand's topic's the most, but all of them will be extremely informative. It'll be interesting to meet everyone in person as well.

RE: Website Name Before Search String in Google SERP
I typically use the keyword first and company/brand second. As a prospect will skim the serps, they typically are looking for the keyword entered, so prominence is import.

RE: Webmaster tools question
Use the canonical URL and the 301 redirect. Should preserve most, if not all, of the pagerank.

RE: Webmaster tools question
You should set these up separately in GWT. If you want to have these combined, you should use use mod_rewrite to direct http to https. Is there a reason you are using http and https?

RE: Prior experience needed?
Along with what was described above, pick up some good books. Here are some of my favorites (including Avinash Kaushik's GA book):
- Art of SEO
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Secrets
- Search Engine Marketing, Inc.
- Inbound Marketing and SEO: Insights from the Moz Blog
- Google Semantic Search
- Web Analytics 2.0
Yes, I realize Rand has contributed to two of the above, but they are good books:)

RE: Footer Section
Jamie & Aaron nailed it. Some additional links to consider: sitemap, email (mailto:), address (hyperlink to location), CTA, phone number (tel:) and etc.

RE: Why did Moz remove thumbs down from blog posts?
Good point Patrick. Adding another layer, typically these rogue accounts may have just a few MozPoints and are newly created. If a user has been w/moz for let's say one year and have a couple hundred points, they may typically be more prone for spammy comments.

RE: Why did Moz remove thumbs down from blog posts?
I think it's a good move. I have seen thumbs down for some of the best replies and could not figure out why other than the points your brought up. Sure, thumbs down is good for spammy-self promoting-irrelevant threads. However, if the reply is informative/useful and keeps the discussion progressing in an useful matter, why do we need them? The tricky part is implementing a mechanism to filter these two items out. Good luck.

RE: Why is my page not showing in Google results
Basically Google’s algorithms has a hard time figuring out where to rank it. As time goes on, info increases and determines rank. Here is an explanation on why from Matt Cutts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzfK6isC7CA

RE: 2 Menu links to same page. Is this a problem?
No huge deal. Matt Cutts discussed this recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AsLWIuNNMU. The short of it is that the same division of PR applies as other links.
-
RE: How many redirects are too many?
A couple will be fine. Anything more than that may be problematic. In 2011, Matt Cutts stated anything more than five and Googlebot will not follow it.

RE: Meta-description not used at all times
To expand on what Ryan was saying, your query was for "bangerhead" & your meta descriptions states:
So in this case, since your query was not in your meta description, Google typically will pull a snippet containing that keyword:
**Bangerhead **Professional Fresh Me Up! (200ml) · **Bangerhead **Professional Fresh Me... Moroccanoil Treatment (50 ml) · RefectoCil Frans- & Ögonbrynsfärg.

RE: Can someone kindly explain what 'Crawl Issue Found: No rel="canonical" Tags' means? Is this a critical error and how can it be rectified?
It means that you are not using that tag on that page. Do you have duplicate content? If so, try to clean it up by creating unique content or use proper tags to mark duplicates. RE: Google certification
Dirk hit the nail on the head with his answer. I took both of them (and passed). The studying helped w/the resources (analytic's academy) and I actually learned things I didn't pick up already.

RE: Adwords inital offer / plan towards a client
Totally agree w/David. Make sure to include a min spend/maintenance amount for each month and charge variable (%) over that to help defray cost on small pcc amounts. If you charge 15% of a $1000 account every month, that may be not worth $150 to you.

RE: SEO transfer to new website
Hi Dan. Great tip! My primitive method was to use to export a list of links in xenu, launch and do a linkchecker off a macro in excel. Looks like your your way is better!
