Tracking Chat Conversions on WP?
Thanks for the info! So what this means is that, although Analytics (where people typically analyse all their funnels, by porting their AdWords data into GA) would be able to track that users are visiting pages, and Analytics (if you have set it up right) will be able to know where users came from (e.g: AdWords / Ads) - Analytics will not be able to determine that open chats (leads) are occurring and it will not be able to determine the value of any successful conversion For that to happen, your chat plugin (and your AdWords account) would actually have to talk to Google Analytics. For example, if your chat plugin were coded to fire a confirmation message from the operator to the chat-user (which contained the amount they had paid and the fact they had converted) - that information could be wrapped into events fired to Google Analytics via JavaScript. From there you could easily filter down to users from paid-search (PPC / Ads) only and then just view the number of conversions, and the value which were ascribed to them What we have identified is that the weak point you have, is one of these 3: Your AdWords / Ads is not talking to GA properly (maybe you don't have Google Analytics? In which case... that would be your centre-point where all the data needs to go, you need to get it) Your chat plugin is not sending data to GA, which could then be married (within Google Analytics) to your AdWords / PPC data Both of the above at the same time So the steps I can see are: Step one would be (if you don't already have it) setting up Google Analytics Then having it properly integrated with your AdWords so both talk to each other Then making your chat plugin, also talk to Google Analytics Finally - deriving all your wonderful insights, in the Google Analytics back-end For example, ZenDesk properly integrates with Google Analytics (see this post). Luckily your chat plugin (Chatra) also has this functionality (see here). One concession with my answer here, I haven't told you how to get AdWords data into Chatra, or Chatra data into AdWords. Sorry about that, but trust me when I say - an Analytics (GA is free) integration will be better for you. Sorry I'm not 'exactly' answering the question here, still doing my best :') You must confirm with Chatra, as part of their Analytics integration - exactly what data will Chatra send to Google Analytics? For example, maybe the Chatra / GA integration, only sends number of chats and length of chats, but not chat-based conversions (as you specified earlier: users convert on the chat, so that conversion data MUST come from Chatra or similar). If that's the case, you'd then have a problem and have to seriously consider other alternatives like ZenDesk or something else For each plugin you think of trying, you'd have to email them with the same question. What data can the flow from their service, to your Google Analytics? If you don't like what you hear - it's the WRONG plugin for you Hope that helps

Choosing Your Own Photo for Google Business?
Good suggestions from Brooks, but sounds like you've checked off the things he mentioned. So, typically, Google will display the one you designate as the profile pick, but as you've seen, not always. If you've removed the unwanted photo from your website, you can ask a GMB forum TC to help you get your listing updated. Here's a thread from Google's forum along those lines: https://www.en.advertisercommunity.com/t5/Enhance-Your-Presence/Photos-pulling-from-website-that-are-not-wanted-to-show/m-p/1119604/highlight/true#M6409 But, if you want to keep that photo on your website, you can try flagging the image from several accounts over the next few weeks to see if Google will get rid of it. If nothing happens after a few weeks, you could take this to the GMB forum, but I'm not sure they'll be able to do much unless the photo is really inappropriate, in which case, you may just want to remove it from the website. Other advice: be sure you're not using a logo as your profile pic. Google really doesn't like those and often will replace them. Be sure every photo you've uploaded to your GMB dash is of best quality and is something you'd be okay with having Google use to represent the business.

Google Custom Search Engine: Good Idea?
Ruben, In my experience, it's a decent low-budget site search tool. However, it does have a few hangups. As you mentioned, it shows ads unless you pay for a higher tier of subscription. Also, the aesthetics of it are also somewhat limited. It's difficult to make it look good within the frame of the rest of your site. And last, but most importantly, Google custom site search is exactly the same set of pages that are indexed for regular Google searches. While this isn't a problem for most, there are instances (for larger sites specifically) where you'd want to noindex or disallow certain types of content to not show in the SERPs, but you would want that content to be accessible via internal search. Think of a University site for example: TONS of URLs on a college's website, whether it's events or course catalogs, a lot of this doesn't need to be shown in SERPs. If you're using Google custom search, these same sets of pages will also be inaccessible there. Hope that helps!

Best of Web Perk Info?
Hi Ruben, To be honest, our Perks program is suspended. We're no longer accepting new ones, and we're only willing to update the ones we have. I'm afraid that, as we don't currently have a Perk from BotW, this is really more a question for them. I'm so sorry I can't be of more help!

Will this fix my bounce rate?
As @jessconfitti said, you are 100% correct. If a user browses more than 1 page in your site, it would not be a bounce. Even if after the second page the users clicks back to whatever Website they came from.

Shortened URLs Passing Link Equity?
If they went to burner pages, then I would understand it a little better. However, when I click on the shorten link, it goes to his blog page on his actual site; not a microsite. It's like the shorten link redirects to itself, but is passing equity. And, I can't figure out where the shortened link is actually posted it. It's not in the source code of the actual blog page. Not sure how to find the origin of it. Rube

How do I pull a rankings report for a specific week in the past?
Hi Ruben, In Moz Analytics, to get the rankings of a specific date you could download the entire historical keyword rankings CSV and grab what you need from there. To do this, all you have to do is click on "Rankings History CSV" next to your Tracked Keywords Overview on the Rankings page, and you'll receive an email containing the CSV file.

Why would a blank page rank? What am I missing about this page?
Agree with Trevor and would add that they have NAP info on the page and "lawyer" in their domain name.

To noindex and follow or noindex no follow?
+1 for EGOL I would play with the pricing strategy instead of using noindex and nofollow on my site. These unwanted service pages might have valuable Page Authority and pass link juice in internal navigation, so noindex and nofollow can potentially hurt the overall organic search performance of your site. If you don't want Google to crawl these pages looking for new information, simply block crawling in robots.txt but leave them in Google's index.

Adwords Express Placement and Explanation
Hi Ruben, I would definitely agree with Eric on this one and highly recommend that you use the regular AdWords interface to view and analyze your account performance. It has been a while since I have been in an account that was set up using AdWords Express but I believe there is a link to view the account as a regular AdWords account from the Express dashboard. To diagnose why your ads are showing on the sidebar you would want to review keyword quality scores to find out where you can improve. It might have to do with you ad copy or landing page content not being relevant enough to the keywords you are targeting but could also be that your bids are simply too low! Your total budget will not have an impact on where your ads are placed, that simply limits your daily spend. How much you are bidding on keywords along with the other quality score and ad rank related factors will determine where your ads are placed. I hope this helps and you are able to improve positioning after analyzing your current performance in the regular AdWords interface!
