With 301 Redirects Does Changing URLs Matter?
If it is not done properly it will affect your site greatly. it is important to use a tool like Deep crawl or screaming frog make sure you have a copy of all your URI's then when you go to Create Redirects Use this tool to generate redirects from your old permalink structure to the /%postname%/ permalink structure. Your Redirects Add the following redirect to the the top of your .htaccess file: RedirectMatch 301 ^/home.asp$ http://domain.com/?p=$ Please note that this relies on WordPress to do a second redirect, from the post_id to the post. Remember when you switch platforms expect a drop before it rebounds on Google treat it as if you're changing a domain https://moz.com/community/q/how-to-keep-old-url-juice-during-site-switch https://moz.com/blog/achieving-an-seo-friendly-domain-migration-the-infographic larger version of photo below http://www.aleydasolis.com/images/seo-website-domain-migration.gif https://moz.com/community/q/changing-domains-how-much-link-juice-is-lost-with-301-redirect For WordPress this is an extremely helpful tool https://yoast.com/wp-content/permalink-helper.php https://yoast.com/change-wordpress-permalink-structure/ I hope this helps, Tom JqUSVWt.gif

Moz keywords tool obsolete?
Did I misread the article? How will this affect Google's keyword planner data? We appear to be picking up momentum in the direction of pay-to-play.

Changing login email not working
Hello David, Sorry for the delay! You can always change your email in your account to any email that is not in our system already. Duplicate accounts for the same email are not yet permitted by our login process. What your colleague can do, however, is change their email address in their free account settings to another email. You will then be able to change your email login to the original email of your colleague. If you have issues with this process, please email help@moz.com so we can maintain account info confidentiality. Have a great day!

Moz showing warnings for each dynamic link despite canonicalization?
Well, if Moz is able to find such URLs, these dynamic versions are linked-to from somewhere in your content. This is still not optimal, even if you use rel=canonical. If you can find the source and change these URLs to a non-dynamic version, this will still be better. Otherwise just ignore the warning in the report...

Is it dangerous to use "Fetch as Google" too much in Webmaster Tools?
Hi Keri I did yes, i stumbled upon it and thought i'd give my two pennies worth as an SEO! Certainly wasnt looking for a backlink as it would be pretty irrelevant for our industry and would never expect a dofollow links from a comments section anyway. Thanks to you also for your feedback Cheers!

3rd Party hosted whitepapers — bad idea? Duplicate content?
Thanks for the tip. However, isn't it a bad idea to have a bunch of sketchy sites linking to you that are scraping content? Aren't those the types of links we should be actively avoiding?

Backlink profile from Open Site Explorer does not seem to update
Hi David, That's got to be disappointing! There are a few different things that could be going on, either with our crawler or the links themselves, that might be causing them not to be picked up by OSE. Without knowing what the links are, it's difficult to diagnose what the issue might be. Could you please send us an email to help@moz.com with some examples of the links you're seeing that aren't showing up in OSE? We'd love to get this resolved for you.

Duplicate content issue with Wordpress tags?
The harm is that Google may well class your site as having duplicated content issues. This wont always happen but there is a chance. There are also a few other issues which are covered well by Dan Petrovic (link at the bottom). Google does indeed see millions of duplicate content issues and it tries its hardest to only rank one version of that content. You can always make your category pages the landing pages for keywords and not the tags. If you are already being found from tags then don't deindex them but there will be a risk that a Panda data refresh or algo update may hurt your site. http://dejanseo.com.au/effect-of-tag-clouds-on-seo/

SEO Problem with PowerPoint to PDF?
This shouldn't hurt your SEO in any way. I do like Andie's suggestion about SlideShare. You can even embed the slideshare on your own site so i don't see any reason why this wouldn't work.

How important is a good "follow" / "no-follow" link ratio for SEO?
Like Gian says, you are looking at it a little backwards. It's not problematic at all to get backlinks from comments, just make sure you're not being spammy or overdoing it. If you really want to look at follow/nofollow ratios, look at your competitor's backlink profiles in OSE or similar.

Easiest way to disavow single links on an on-going basis?
Thanks. I submitted some links but then deleted the file. Hopefully I didn't do any harm . . . Our average link quality is artificially low because of these garbage sites linking to us. That's why I thought it might be a problem.

Do search results differ greatly when you search on mobile?
Hard to say how much Google rank mobile friendly website more, it depends on intent mostly. Mobile does differ based on localised results.

Where can I go to find the latest links to my domain?
Sadly, Fresh Web Mentions came up with a ton of crazy results for our site- sites that make absolutely no sense and also that don't contain mentions.
