Different meta-description per country?
Hi Patrick, Thank you for your response! On our local websites, we have specific meta-descriptions in place. Do you know another technical solution to do this on a corporate .com domain (meta-description per country)? This domain is used in the whole world but we want to test multiple meta-descriptions for this .com domain.

Crawl Diagnostics - 350 Critical errors? But I used rel-canonical links
Hi Patrick, That is super useful and thank you. I have read up as suggested on MOZ and Webmaster tools and you are bang on - absolute over relative urls to be used in canonicals. I will ask our developers to fix. I wonder whether MOZ will ignore this as an error in its crawl diagnostics thereafter? Ben

Has our site been attacked?
Hey there, Do you see any of these referrals on your reports 4webmasters, free-social-buttons, trafficmonetize... (there are many) If you do then you don't have to worry about security issues or anything apart from your data quality. You are not being attacked, at least personally, this type of spam is called ghost since it doesn't have any interaction with your site whatsoever and strikes many GA users. As I mention the only thing you should worry about (big thing though) is your data. Here is a related question on MOZ that will help you get rid of it, I strongly recommend you to follow the valid hostname solution. Hope it helps, Carlos

US traffic falsely inflating traffic figures and bounce rate.
There are few other reasons why bounce rate from Google Analytics doesn't affect ranking if you think about it not everyone uses GA, so that wouldn't be a fair measure. Another reason is the spam, most of it doesn't even get to your page, so there is no interaction whatsoever leaving fake data, and by now Google is more than aware of it. However, you are right, as you mention the algorithm Google uses is complex and constantly evolving, so there might be another way to measure the time spent on your page after a search, for example, the back button of the browser. So we can split it if the high bounce rate comes from fake traffic/spam in GA, then there is nothing to worry about. If it is from valid traffic, then it shouldn't be taken lightly since Google might be using other ways to measure it rather than GA. Again Google knows the one and only truth, so we can only make educated guesses based on what we see Carlos

What's with the redirects?
Comment out both. The Rewrite Cond is the test condition that if satisfied, causes the rewriterule on the following line to be executed.

What to do with a site of >50,000 pages vs. crawl limit?
Hi Sean -- Can you clarify for me how competitors in a campaign figure in to the 50,000 page limit? Does the main page in the campaign get thoroughly crawled first and then competitors are crawled up to the limit? Some examples: If the main site is 100 pages, and I pick 2 competitors that are 100 to 1000 pages and a 3rd gargantuan competitor of 300,000 pages, what happens? Does it matter in what order I enter competitors in this situation as to whether the 100-page and 1000-page competitors get crawled vs. whether the limit maxes out on the 300K competitor before crawling the smaller competitors? If the main site is 300,000 pages, do any competitors in the campaign just not get crawled at all because the 50,000 limit gets all used up on the main site? What if the main site is 20,000 pages and a competitor is 45,000 pages? Thorough crawl of main site and then partial crawl of competitor? I feel like I have a direction to go in based on our previous discussion for the main site in the campaign, but now I'm still a little stumped and confused about how competitors operate within the crawl limit.

Multi region stores, one domain
Good point, thanks. Will choose a geo prompt instead, similar to what Amazon use. Will advise the user that there is a store for their location and offering a link to click.

Local Search and Moz Local Question
I agree with what you have above, but with the recommendation to funnel everything you can to the website and emphasize the drop off locations. I'd even feature a cool interactive map on the front page of the site. Whatever you do, get rid of the P.O. box!!!

Should I use an acronym in my URL?
I agree with Kevin, use what is common for those that are searching for the information, and think using both is a good idea. In my industry it is common to see both city and airport code in the URL Example of what I commonly see: http://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/United-States-US0/Seattle-Tacoma-Intl-SEA http://www.kayak.com/flight-routes/Los-Angeles-LAX/Seattle-Tacoma-Intl-SEA http://flights.expedia.com/flights-from-seattle-to-los-angeles-sea-to-lax/

How to find missing or incorrect title tags with a site hosting lots of pages.
Hi, I can't recommend the ScreamingFrog enough! The free version has a limit of 500 pages, so you will need a license. With such a large site it it recommended to check on the crawl progress to ensure there are no crawl 'loops' If for example it turns out that a calendar on a page counts as a link for every day then the crawl will likely never finish! Luckily you can fix such things by creating a URL Exclude rule and the re running the spider. Kind Regards Jimmy
