  • Hi, From your question I have concluded that you are worrying about QS after changing final URL so here is answer from Google. "Quality score is primarily based on predicted CTR, ad relevance and landing page experience. Creating a new ad (with new Ad ID) with the same keyword, creative, landing page and device would therefore not affect the quality score." You can use AdWords editor to complete the upgrade. "Stats history are not lost because the removed ads are still in the adgroup. There is no impact on reporting at ad group or higher level. The only impact would be when looking at the ad ID level, you will now have stats for 2 ad IDs (one for the past, one for the new)."   • Hi Dave, 301 means that the page has been moved permanently.  I suspect the search engines take specific actions upon seeing a 301 for a short period of time. A 410 - means that the page is gone, and gone forever.  And a 404 means that the page is temporarily unavailable. In your case, I think I'd want to setup a process where for 3-7 days, you return a simple 404.  I.e. the page is temporarily unavailable.  If during those 3-7 days, the page comes back up - start serving it per normal. If after 3-7 days, the page is still not up, I'd serve up a custom 410 page that offers alternatives that can be clicked through to if the customer/property owner did not list again.  If he ever DOES list again, I'd be sure to 301 to the new page, regardless of time delay. There may also be some thought to allowing pages to display in a historical sense.  I.e. - this is what the page you want looked like - but it's no longer available.  Thus preserving some of the traffic, which you might find some use for. Finally - some possible ideas for "missing pages" Present other properties very close to the missing property Communicate with your viewer what is happening.  i.e. - the listing agent/owner removed the listing - but over XX% of properties delisted come back within 10 days!  Please check back - would you like us to email you if this property comes back online? (collect email opportunity!) Present a historical page showing what the listing used to look like. (legal issues?) Display a 404 page - but provide other interesting information/content.  i.e. since you know what the old page was like - you probably can figure out related/highly related content to present in it's stead.   • Well, Moz Content isn't something I subscribe to yet so I'm just sort of giving you an outsider's perspective but I like to do the searches and look for content that's winning. Here are some things I use in my analysis using Moz Content: All the related keywords on the top content. They are often different from each other and it shows me how the keyword ties into its related terms. For instance, if you do a search for "email marketing" you come up with a Clickz article that has: b2b email, email marketing, b2b email marketing, b2b, b2b email marketing tricks. But the 2nd result is Marketing Profs and theirs has email subject lines, subject lines, worst performing words, etc. So you can find a variety of topics & keywords this way. Blog research. Want to know what someone is searching for in your niche? Try "problem with SEO" - you will find some of the top articles that answer these questions and can put your own spin on the answers, as well as find related questions and think of ways to use the keywords in question. For example, under "Worst performing words" in the email example above you could do a post of "20 Best & Worst Performing Email Marketing Words" - new content, new-ish topic, perfect blog material. You can also then put "worst performing email" into Moz Content and find the top performing content for that exact search. Use Moz Content + Open Site Explorer. Take that top performing Clickz link and put it on OSE. Now you have all the links back to that content. These are places that may be interested in your new article and help you build backlinks, as well. Age of great content - the older it is, the more something is likely to have changed. You can update these articles for your own audience, look for broken links (broken linkbuilding), and when you do update, go back to all the links they had and show those site owners your new & improved content. Lots of ways to use Moz content - these are just a few ideas right off the top of my head and none of these even require the paid version. Once you get that you open up auditing your own URLs, getting CSV exports of results, having a content inventory to find gaps in your material and gaps your competitors left open, topical analysis and more.

  • Hello, asnwers to the questions bolded: At this rate, how long would it take Google to crawl all of your pages, (maybe it feels 10-15 is fast enough)? Over 50 days, i still cannot believe that it would be just a coincidence that crawl rate dropped so suddenly only because google suddenly thinks that my page should not be crawled that often. After all, amount of new content, quality of new links and all the other factors are much better all the time on my site, and before the drop, crawl rate increased steadily. It has to be some technical issue? Has the average response time increased? If so, maybe Google feels it's overloading the server & backing off. No, it has actually went down a little bit (not much though)

  • I think that Google will consider the trust and the authority of the linking website. Google will also consider the context and relevance of the page and the paragraphs and the sentences that are associated with the link. So a link to a privacy site from a privacy page is relevant in my mind.  Nobody knows what Google really thinks about these things, but to me the value of this link ranges somewhere between good and superb.

  • I love the way you phrase things. lol I agree with EGOL here - it's definitely not helpful, it's definitely not needed, it could be harmful, and it's a sign of other potential issues. I would definitely work to remove it from the title. Plus, .... I mean what's it trying to accomplish? This tells me it's auto-generated or (stealing EGOL's word) "dumb." because it's a line break. You can't line break a title. I mean I could see some example of code that are meant to do something in a title (for instance, **for bold) but not BR? It makes no sense. **

  • Hello David, Thanks for the response. I was able to receive a response in Chat yesterday that was very similar. All of the different URL's for the same product were pointing to the same canonical (the right one), so I was highly confused. Knowing that it's about Source Code helps a lot. Giant ecommerce sites like the one I'm working for it seems would have this issue more than smaller, boutique sites. All of the products have their own unique product descriptions and titles & meta descriptions. So, for our brand, it is about the source code. I can suggest that the writers add more copy to their descriptions, but I can't imagine that will be a fun conversation. I really appreciate the thoughtful answer to my question. Thanks so much!

  • Usually this is can be caused due to case sensitivity or Https and Http mix ups. Ensure that all URLS both naturally on the site and in the feeds are identical, try to ensure that each page has a unique URL on the site and classify this in a Canonical link at the top of each page. Use Screaming Frog to spider the site and look for duplicates as another way of finding the duplicates. Regards
