Does link have any value?
How did you discover that you received this link? If it was through some kind of alert or a tool, a link to the source page should be available to you as well. Additionally, you can try the site search controller in google to see if the link has indexed. site:sourcedomain.com targetlinkhere If Google is indexing it, then you are getting some value from it. How much? Links are valuable in a bunch of ways, the two top of mind for me: relevant click through traffic and/or link juice. Depending on the type of page the link is coming from, it's common for sites to have a rel=nofollow meaning it's not passing link juice, however it doesn't diminish click through traffic. All of which supports contextual links that are well placed and from sites related to yours. Hope that helps and feel free to provide a bit more information for further support. Cheers, Brent

Direct To Site Traffic Decline 2
It definitely looks like you've got yourself some bot traffic, my friend. Here are a few examples that stand out to me the most: Over 99% of visitors to your website are considered first-time visitors. Your Bounce Rate is at 99%. Page Sessions are a little over 1 page per session. Avg. Session Duration is 2 seconds. All these reasons listed above are usually tell-tale signs of bot traffic. 99% of new visitors for direct traffic doesn't make much sense. That would mean almost every user is finding you for the first time by typing in your exact URL. Bounce Rate being at 99% also doesn't make much sense unless the page the users are landing on isn't working. Additionally, the average user only stays on the page for 2 seconds and then exits the site. Obviously, this isn't the case. In order to protect yourself against some of the bot traffic, make sure you have “Exclude traffic from known bots and spiders” in the "View Settings" of your Google Analytics. Hope this helps some!

Does CNAME impact SEO?
Hey, ** CNAME Records are used for identify multiple domain names that point to the same IP address.** A Canonical Name record (abbreviated as CNAMErecord) is a type of resource record in the Domain Name System (DNS) used to specify that a domain name is an alias for another domain, which is the "canonical" domain. For SEO point of view: Every website needs a ‘canonical’ or definitive web address of the site. Generally, this is the non-www (bare domain name without the “www” in front). Search engines view both the “www.site.com” and “site.com” as two different addresses so it's important to point the www version to the canonical name (or the non-www to the www).

What do you use to come up with content ideas?
Hi, I'm working on a presentation that helps brands answer this question. It really feels like one of those questions that should have a great, simple answer. My quick-fast-dirty process looks a lot like this. Brand-level Determine goals for brand Ascertain how content can help brand attain those goals Competition Do a simple Google search to see which brands are competition for the same audience (e.g., using your money keywords) Pay close attention to the content they've created that's ranking well Try to create a short list of things you can do content-wise better Audience Figure out who they are being visiting social media, Quora, Reddit, etc., and doing a keyword search to see who is using your terms Make at list of the folks who are influencers and what questions, concerns, issues are being raised Use this information to find other such platforms where similar audiences might be congregating (i.e., do a Google search or Twitter search or Facebook search to see what other groups key members might be a part of) Content Armed with your keywords, the questions you can likely answer and the types of content your competition is creating, you can being to think about the types of content you can and should create based on your brand's needs and goals. For example, if you have an existing product that is now newer and better than ever, but you need to get people to learn about the changes, maybe you write a top of the funnel piece that includes your brand as part of a solution to a problem you found from online discussions. The maker of a sleek, redesigned wallet for millennials, say, might write a post titled "Why Your iPhone Case Should Never Double as a Credit Card Holder." The key is to focus as much on the execution as the idea. That is... Have a clear goal with regard to each piece of content Know in advance which segment of the audience you're attempting to reach and what desired actions you wish for them to take Understand that publishing content is only part of the process. (It must be shared, promoted and, hopefully, amplified to be successful) To help you get started, here are a few indispensable resources: For help with what questions you should be answering: * Answer the public * http://keywordtool.io/ For how to come up with better ideas more easily:* Creating Demand for Products, Services, and Ideas that Have Little to No Existing Search Volume - Whiteboard Friday*GENERATING BETTER CONTENT IDEAS

Website crawl error
Hi Christy, Thanks for your answer! Yes, it only happens with this specific site in Screaming Frog. I also did a crawl test on Moz Pro and there were no issues. Google Search Console doesn't point out big issues neither. The website does save 9 cookies but none of them have any name value even close to path or domain. Thanks, Jens

Do keyword target landing pages increase rankings?
When creating landing pages it's good practice to keep the end in mind. I love the idea of the content hub, which allows you to map out your content and keywords you're going to be targeting. This approach will allow you to rank for various long-tail keyword terms, all-the-time focusing on your main (broader) keyword(s). Next, work on gathering backlinks to your pages. I know it can be time-consuming and draining, but earning backlinks is what will really help your domain to rank better. For reference, I grabbed that content hub infographic from: https://moz.com/blog/how-to-rank Best of Luck!

Is Paging Comments SEO Friendly? Implications?
I think it really depends on how it's done. You certainly don't just want a whole page of comments with no blog post above them to be indexed on Google, as the experience of landing on that page from search engine results would be poor. You have 50 legitimately useful comments on the post? I find that about 75% of our comments are either outright spam, or poorly veiled attempts at it. You may be able to delete any that are constructive to the conversation. If you paginate the comments to keep some of them off the post in order to speed it up, I'd recommend setting the Robots meta tag on the comment pagination pages to Noindex,Follow.

How to solve Moz crawl error?
Hi there! Kristina from Moz's Help Team here. Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble! Unfortunately at this time our crawler isn't compatible with Server Name Indication (SNI), which appears to be in use on your site. In general, SNI is a totally acceptable security configuration, but our crawler simply isn't equipped to be able to handle these settings. https://www.screencast.com/t/IgysswsFiwn The good news is that our team has been working hard on a new crawler that will support this configuration and this crawler is currently in its Beta phase. If you're interested in being a part of the beta testing, the link to the sign up page is here: http://goo.gl/forms/LCvL9Ix8JDHfbAvr1. Once you fill out that form, you will automatically be added into the Beta during the next round. We will be rolling the new crawler out to all of our users once it's out of it's Beta phase, but I don't have an exact timeframe of when that will be at this time as it's still being worked on. In the meantime, I apologize for the inconvenience and let me know if you have any questions or need any additional clarification. -Kristina

Trying to connect my moz local to my facebook page - says it isn't found
Hi there! Unfortunately, from my experience I've found that if you purchase a listing that does not have the correct GMB profile AND Facebook page selected, it's impossible to get Moz to recognize the correct page. Location details in Moz Local will be pushed to Facebook, but not the other way around—so if the listing you purchased is pulling the wrong page from the start, it seems like it's stuck that way. You could try emailing help@moz.com to see if there is a way for them to manually switch this out for you.

Why are none of my directory listings showing any Bing or YP information
Hi there! There's nothing wrong with your listing - we're just currently unable to contact Bing and YP for listing details. This is happening for all listings. There's nothing much we can do to fix it from our end—we're working with those sites to establish a better data connection so that we can update Moz Local with their data accordingly. If you hover over that exclamation point, it'll give a brief explanation. Sorry there's not more I can do to help you out, though! If you have any further questions, feel free to shoot us a note at help@moz.com and we'll do our best to take care of it for ya!

No external links showing?
+1 for GR. No one tool for any job. Id go on good and do a site:directory.com clientdomain.com search and see if it's indexing first. If it's indexing and you know it's there, then it's likely a matter of propagation. I used Moz, Majestic, ahrefs for any backlink review as each tool operates differently and a combination of all of them will give you a holistic picture. Good luck!

I would like opinions on Brian Dean's training courses and his advice -- is it useful?
I have taken his "SEO That Works" class and it is definitely worthwhile if you are serious about content-driven SEO. His methods definitely take an investment of time (and money if you are outsourcing) but the results he shows are pretty amazing. The SEO That Works class is also great if you are concerned about legitimate, white-hat ways to get authority backlinks.
